Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 208

Chapter 208

“That’s good,” Mikayla said as she took a sip of the soup Amy had served her.

“Madam, did you have a fight with Sir?” Amy asked.

Mikayla took another sip of the soup. “It’s nothing. It’s not really a fight.”

She just simply vented her emotions, but Jerome didn’t react at all.

“Madam, I think Sir cares about you a lot now. He asked me to cook this soup specifically for you, so that you can have it when you’re back,” Amy said.

Hearing this, Mikayla could feel the soup losing its flavor.

What was Jerome up to? She had already seen through him, so why bother doing all

this?

After the meal, Mikayla returned to her room.

Just then, Taylor sent her a message.

“Ms. Davidson, you owe me a meal for what happened today.” This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

He was really pushing it.

“Mr. Blue, are you done playing games? You dragged me into these situations time. and time again. How dare you say I owe you a meal?” she replied.

After sending the message, Mikayla received a call from Taylor.

“What’s wrong? Are you picking a fight?” Mikayla asked bluntly.

“Why are you being so defensive? My ears hurt,” Taylor said as he rubbed his ear. “Do you treat Jerome like that in private? Is that why he wants to get rid of you?”

Mikayla couldn’t be bothered to correct him.

“What do you want? You can’t be calling just to ask about me and Jerome’s affairs,

right? If that’s the case, I might actually think you’re secretly in love with me.”

“Ugh!” Taylor was instantly disgusted. “Unlike you, I actually have good taste!”

After a few more insults were hurled at each other, Mikayla was getting tired of arguing and was about to hang up when Taylor finally got to the point.

“Didn’t you want to promote the medicine from Sacred Heart Pharmaceuticals. I’ve had someone prepare a preliminary project proposal for you. Take a look and try to finalize the plan by next week.”

“Okay, send it to me,” she replied.

After ending the call, Mikayla was about to turn on her computer when she saw

Jerome standing by the door.

She didn’t know when he came.

His expression was indifferent, and his eyes were calm.

Mikayla raised her eyebrows. “Do you need something?”

Jerome pursed his lips and didn’t say a word. Instead, he went downstairs.

It was very strange of him.

Mikayla closed the door and turned on her computer to look at the project proposal.

After finishing her work, Mikayla felt tired and her back was sore.

She wanted to ask Amy for help with applying the medicine. But as she opened the

door, she saw Jerome just about to open it.

She had already made herself clear. And given how egotistical Jerome was, he

shouldn’t have wanted to come to her room again.

“Are

you getting something?” Mikayla asked.

Jerome didn’t answer. Instead, he reached out for the medicine in her hand.

Mikayla frowned. “What are you doing?”

“Amy is asleep, and she’s not strong enough for a good massage. If you want to get

better soon, lie down and let me do it. You said it yourself. I’m only feeling resentful

toward you and have no actual interest whatsoever,” Jerome walked into the room

and coldly said.

Mikayla was rendered speechless.

But that kiss in the kitchen a while ago didn’t seem like he had no interest in her at all.

His face was indifferent, and his eyes were cold, as if his presence here was merely

to complete a task.

Mikayla couldn’t help but ask, “Can men really think and act differently?”
