Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 207

Chapter 207

Jerome didn’t understand Mikayla’s sudden change of attitude.

Despite Jerome’s effort to mend their relationship, he couldn’t suppress his anger seeing her teary–eyed yet cold expression.

“Why do you have to be so unpredictable?”

Mikayla looked up at him coldly. “Who’s the unpredictable one here? You ignored my request when I wanted to come here. But now that I’ve made it clear I’m not interested, you insisted on bringing me here. Are you only doing all of this because you feel resentful that I’ve been neglecting you lately?”

“Do you think I’m being resentful toward you?” Jerome countered.

“What else could it be?” Mikayla scoffed. “If I were clung around every day like before, would you notice me? Would you have cared about my feelings, and taken the initiative to bring me here?”

Jerome was taken aback.

In the past, Mikayla was too clingy. She always wanted to be with him.

She would also have some methods of attracting his attention. Wearing makeup and sexy clothes just to bring him coffee just to name one.

However, since Kylie joined the company, her methods escalated to threats and

coercion, causing Kylie undue suffering.

Just the thought of Mikayla’s nagging and harassment gave Jerome a headache. He didn’t even want to go home, let alone bringing her to Miller Villa.

“I know you won’t.” Mikayla answered for Jerome in a cold voice.

She continued, “You hate me from the bottom of your heart and wish I were as far away from you as possible. Now that I’ve fulfilled your wish, you feel resentful because of your ridiculous ego.

“Jerome, I was oncé infatuated with you. But I’m not some accessory you can toy around with when you feel like it, and discard it when you’re tired of it. I have feelings.

With tears in her eyes, Mikayla turned and went downstairs.

As she was coming down, the maid happened to see her. “Madam, I wanted to ask if you have any allergies…”

Thank you, but there’s no need to bother. I’m leaving,” Mikayla said as she walked

out.

The villa was in a high–end district so every household had a car. It was rare for cabs to come here to pick up passengers.

Mikayla took out her phone to call a cab, but Jerome’s driver pulled the car out.

Jerome rolled down the window and said from the back seat, “Get in.”

“There’s no need. I’ll call a cab,” Mikayla coldly refused.

“Even if I treat you as an accessory, I won’t leave you here alone,” Jerome said in a tone devoid of any emotion. “Get in. Since I brought you here, I have the This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

responsibility to bring you home.”

Hearing this, Mikayla didn’t argue with him anymore and opened the passenger door.

Jerome didn’t react to this. Instead, he turned on his laptop to check his emails.

They rode in silence.

When they arrived at Dragoncrest Villa, Amy had already returned.

Seeing them, she greeted, “Sir, Madam, are you hungry? The meal is ready.”

Mikayla was about to say she didn’t want to eat and needed to rest, but Jerome had

already gone upstairs.

“Sir, aren’t you going to eat?” Amy asked.

“I’ll eat later. I still have some work to deal with,” Jerome replied calmly.

Did what she said struck a nerve with Jerome? Did she make him angry?

If that was the case, it would be for the best. It would save them from getting into

any unresolved issues in their last few days of marriage.

Seeing that Jerome left, Mikayla sat down at the dining table with relief.

“Amy, has everything in your family been sorted out?”

Amy seemed uneasy. “Yes, Madam, everything’s sorted out.”

Mikayla thought she might have encountered some difficulties, so she reassured her,

“If there’s anything you need help with, you can tell me.”

1. Amy hurriedly shook her head. “No, there’s nothing at all.”
