Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 206

Chapter 206

Mikayla readily nodded her head.

“You can rest assured about that. I won’t mention the divorce in front of Mr. Zachary. Even after we get the divorce certificate, we can keep it low–key and not let others

know.”

Despite hearing Mikayla’s “considerate” arrangements, Jerome did not feel happy at

all.

“We’re going to the Miller Villa now,” Jerome commanded.

“Jerome, didn’t I say I’m not going?” Mikayla widened her eyes in surprise.

“Since we’re not divorced yet, you still have to carry out your duty as Mrs. Miller,

completely ignited his anger.

Seeing Jerome’s determined expression, Mikayla didn’t bother pursuing the matter

further.

Miller Villa was located in a prime area. It was a three–story house with a spacious

garden and courtyard.

Though Mikayla was Jerome’s wife, she’d never been inside the Miller Villa.

After graduating from college, Jerome moved out of Miller Villa to live alone.

After getting married, they bought the Dragoncrest Villa as their new residence.

Besides, with his parents not around and Wanda living in the Miller Manor, Mikayla

had no reason to come here.

However, out of curiosity, she did beg him to take her there once..

“Jay, take me to the Miller Villa. That’s your parents‘ home. As your wife, I should at least pay a visit and let the maids know who I am.”

Jerome’s expression turned cold. “They’re not in the country, so there’s no need to

go.”

She felt very disappointed at that time. She never mentioned it again to not upset

Jerome.

Unexpectedly, as they were about to get a divorce, Jerome decided to bring her there

himself.

As the driver drove into the courtyard, one of the maids walked over and greeted Jerome respectfully, “Mr. Miller.”

Seeing Mikayla behind him, the maid hesitated for a moment. She didn’t recognize

her.

Jerome swiftly put his arm around Mikayla’s shoulders. “She’s Mikayla.”

Upon hearing the name, the maid quickly greeted, “Mrs. Miller.”

Though she hadn’t seen Mikayla in person, she was aware of her name.

This was something expected. Mikayla wasn’t surprised at all.

She smiled faintly and walked into the house with Jerome.

“Sir, Madam, have you eaten? Let me make something for you,” the maid asked

proactively.

Mikayla shook her head. “There’s no need to trouble yourself. I’m not hungry.”

But Jerome said, “Make something light for her. She’s anemic and can’t skip meals.”

The maid went to the kitchen.

“Let’s go upstairs and take a look,” Jerome said as she took Mikayla’s hand.)

As Mikayla’s hand was warmed by his palm, she was led upstairs by him.

He showed her which was the master bedroom and which were the guest rooms.

At that moment, Mikayla saw an image of her in the past, trapped in the mental hospital. Her expression was haggard, and her eyes were lifeless.

Her past must be envious of her in the present.

As Jerome held her hand and walked her through Miller Villa, telling her about the layout of the villa, Mikayla suddenly started to cry.

“Why are you suddenly crying? Are the lights too bright?” Jerome asked in confusion.

Mikayla wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes. “I’m not feeling that well. I’ll go down first.”

“What’s wrong?” Jerome said, still holding her hand. His eyes were full of concern. “Is it your shoulder? Or are you too hungry?”

Mikayla withdrew her hand and said calmly, “You’re making me feel sick.”
