Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 209

Chapter 209

Upon hearing her question, Jerome’s expression darkened.

“Do you not want to apply the medicine so Grandma would notice something’s

wrong?” Jerome replied with a question.

Mikayla didn’t know what to say.

She didn’t want to further harm her body. Besides, Jerome smelled like medicine, so

he had most likely already applied it on himself.

He probably had more experience than Amy in massaging as well.

With that in mind, Mikayla sat on her chair and pulled down the clothes on her

shoulder slightly. “You can apply it while I sit.

Even though Jerome appeared like he wasn’t interested in her, she didn’t know when

he’d suddenly lose control.

It was safer to sit than to lie down.

Jerome didn’t object and walked behind her. He rubbed his palms with the medicine before applying it to her shoulder.

The warmth of Makayla’s injury radiated a sweltering soreness, causing her brows to

knit together into a frown.

But, Jerome didn’t go easy on her. He started massaging her with more force.

Although it felt painful, the coolness of the medicine and the warmth of his palm created an intense feeling of relief.

After about half an hour of massaging, Mikayla was drenched in sweat.

However, Jerome was exerting so much force that he was probably sweating even

more.

Amy probably wouldn’t have been able to massage as well as Jerome did.

At that moment, Mikayla’s opinion of Jerome improved slightly.

After the massage, Jerome didn’t linger. He immediately left.

Mikayla didn’t expect that.

He was a businessman. Why didn’t he ask for anything in return?

At night, when Mikayla was deep in sleep, she felt some movement on the bed.

Apparently, Jerome had come to sleep beside her.

Perhaps he didn’t want to bother with moving since there were only a few days left.

Mikayla didn’t think much about it and went back to sleep.

When Mikayla woke up the next day, Jerome was no longer by her side.

When she was heading downstairs for breakfast, she received a call from Betty. She had asked Mikayla to come to Ansoft.

“Betty, you aren’t even taking a break on Saturdays?” Mikayla joked with her. “You’re truly career– oriented.” Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

Ansoft’s sales had been improving steadily, and Betty was the person behind all the work.

Most of her time and energy was spent in the company, earning her the reputation of

a career woman.

“I don’t have a choice. The company’s business has just stabilized. I can’t afford to be complacent.” Betty laughed. “I want you to come over to see how the company is running. You’re a shareholder after all.”

Mikayla laughed as well. “I trust you with everything. I’m just waiting for Ansoft to start its IPO. I’ll make a fortune from my investment then.”

“It’s what you deserve. If it weren’t for you helping out in our time of need, Ansoft. might have gone under because of Johnny,” Betty said. “Speaking of which, I received news that Johnny might be getting released soon.

“He was taken away by the police just a few days ago. How could he be released so soon?” Mikayla was puzzled.

Betty explained that Johnny was taken away because he had obtained the operating

rights of the liquor distillery through improper means.

However, now that the other party had admitted that they sold him the operating rights at a low cost, there was no threat involved. ”

“Isn’t it clear that the other party has been bought off?” Mikayla asked. “Otherwise, why would someone willingly take the blame for him?”

“It’s hard to say,” Betty said. “When I heard he might get released soon, I was worried he might come after you again. So, I thought I’d give you a heads up.”

Mikayla frowned.
