You More Than Anything In The World

Chapter 1222 Are They All Yours

Chapter 1222 Are They All Yours

“Are you asking me to be a... salesman?” Regan looked at Arissa with disbelief and resentment in his eyes.

“Yes. If you don't like it, you're welcome to refuse. Just keep in mind, no other company positions are available. And frankly, I believe you're better suited to working on the frontline,” she said.

It wasn't maliciousness that guided Arissa's decision but rather, an acknowledgment of Regan's talent for market development. Much of the company's business had been his doing, a testament to his eloquence and aptitude for networking.

The indignation coursing through Regan made his face quiver. Pointing his own corpulent form, he said, “Do I look like I'm cut out for work that requires me to run around?”

It had been years since he had done this. After all, he was a general manager now. His return to the sales department would undoubtedly make him a laughingstock.

“If preserving your dignity means more than feeding your family, feel free to decline my offer. Remember, this is the only opening at York Group now,” Arissa replied expressionlessly.

Regan felt breathless. She's trying to get back at me, isn't she?

Arissa was surprised to see that he could contain his ire. He's not scolding me? Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Well, are you in?” she asked icily. “Don't say I didn't offer you a job. York Group is a big company and even an amateur salesman's salary isn't something to be looked down upon.” “Are you asking me to be a... salesman?” Regan looked at Arissa with disbelief and resentment in his

eyes.

Regan's face flushed crimson in anger.

He wanted to turn down the offer, but severing ties with York Group was a terrifying prospect. No matter how he looked at it, being a salesman on the frontline was better than being a logistics officer.

“I'm in,” Regan muttered through gritted teeth.

Arissa nodded, not surprised by his answer. “You can still get promoted if you do a good job.”

Regan looked at her and felt an unnerving sense of awe stirring within. “Where are Benjamin's children? I don't see them visiting you.”

Arissa was stunned. “They've gone to school.”

Regan asked curiously, “Are they... all yours?”

There are six of them!

Arissa stared at him fixedly, causing him to feel a chill down his spine. He added sheepishly, “I meant no offense. I'm just curious.”

“Sign the contract if you have no further questions. I need to rest,” Arissa reminded him in a frigid tone.

Regan felt utterly powerless before Arissa. “Can you... release Heather?”

“That's not negotiable,” Arissa hissed.

Regan pursed his lips. “I don't have any other questions. I'll transfer my shares to you now.”

He took the documents and sat there but couldn't bring himself to sign them.

Arissa didn't rush him, knowing the inevitable couldn't be postponed further unless Regan wanted to see York Group go bankrupt.

“Issa, the company's debts...” Regan looked up at her. He was concerned about York Group's fate.

“There's no need for you to worry. I have my own way of dealing with it.”

Regan nodded. With Benjamin on her side, York Group should be able to weather the storm.

Finally, Regan signed the documents.

As he signed his name, his eyes welled up with tears.

York Group was his life's work.

He had worked for decades but still failed to keep it.

“You can leave if you're done. You can report to the office tomorrow, or if you need a few days' rest, we won't dock your pay,” Arissa said, her tone icy and devoid of sympathy.

Regan wiped away his tears. “I'll take my leave, then. Please take good care of the company.”

Arissa didn't deign to respond and shouted at the door, “Benjamin!”

Benjamin was just outside the door. As soon as he heard her voice, he quickly opened the door and scanned the room.

Thank goodness she's all right.

Meeting Benjamin's piercing gaze, Regan trembled slightly. He lowered his head and went out the door.
