Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 260

“You can do it...” Maia’s eyes were still closed when she answered him drowsily. “Are you sure?” He raised his eyebrow and asked.

Chapter 260 She’s Still Sleeping Maia nodded and went back to sleep.

The doorbell rang again. Cedric looked at her lovingly, put the towel on the table, and went out to open the door. Buck was shocked by what he saw.

“M-Mr. Cedric.” Buck took a few steps back and checked the unit number again to make sure he was at the right place. “She’s still sleeping.”

Buck cleared his throat and nodded. It was pretty clear what happened here. He said, “I-I’ll just wait for Ms. Maia in the living room.”

“Help yourself.”

Buck nodded and headed meekly to the living room. He sat on the couch that was furthest from the bedroom. Then, he heard a commotion in there. Maia came out, looking unkempt, and tried to stop Cedric from opening the door. Alas, it was too late.

“Good morning, Ms. Maia.” Buck smiled and greeted her. She nodded and said stiffly, “Morning.”

Gritting her teeth, Maia was so mad at herself. If she had not let Cedric open the door just now, then it would not have been this awkward.

“The Horizon Awards’ organizer had asked us repeatedly for a confirmed list of celebrities who'll be attending the event, Ms. Maia. That’s why I’m here now. | need to give them an answer by noon,” Buck explained.

Maia nodded, “Sure. Give me a minute. I'll talk about it with you once I’ve freshened up.”

“Sure thing, Ms. Maia. Take your time. I'll be right here.” Buck looked at her and smiled. He turned to look at Cedric and smiled again. Did he do a good job or what?

Maia merely nodded. She was definitely not going to look at Cedric. She dashed to the washroom and splashed some water on her face. Fortunately, it was just Buck. Otherwise, it would have been much harder to explain herself.

She took a deep breath and went on to freshen up. Just as she was done, the doorbell rang again. Her heart almost jumped to her throat. Everyone was already facing each other when

she left the bathroom.

It was awkward. Buck was the first the speak, “Top of the morning, Mr. Nigel. Fancy seeing you here...” Buck trailed off into silence, losing his confidence.

Both Cedric and Nigel glared at each other. 1/3 +15 BONUS

“Cedric!” Nigel gritted his teeth and said furiously, “Are you pestering Maia again? When will you learn to give up? Haven't you caused enough damage already?”

Cedric straight-up ignored him. Nigel was not worth his time. Then, he walked briskly toward a stunned Maia and covered her ears.

“Did he scare you?”

Maia raised her head and looked at him.

He smiled and said, “Is it too late for me to cover your ears now?” She was stunned. Cedric’s actions stirred her heart. Buck saw it and felt like he had to give it to Cedric. He was good!

However, Nigel pulled Maia to his back and said, “Stop playing dumb, Cedric. This has gone too far. How long are you going to keep pestering Maia? If you have trouble knowing where you stand now, then you can read the divorce agreement again! It clearly states that you two are no longer together! You're just harassing her now!”

Nigel was beside himself with rage. He got the verdict that declared his victory and he was going to hand it to Maia himself. Little did he know that Cedric would be there when the door opened.

Cedric was ticked off. His fists clenched tightly. Buck had always been a sensitive person. He also had the emotional intelligence that made him a perfect assistant for Maia. Naturally, he noticed the little things.

Buck had a sense that Cedric was about to start throwing punches. Nigel was a refined man and a great lawyer, but he probably could not take a punch to the face.

Buck tried to defuse the tension, but he stood far away. One more step and he would be at the balcony.

“It's so early in the morning, Nigel: What are you getting worked up for? You gave Ms. Maia a fright. She just woke up, for heaven's sake...” What he said made the situation worse.

Nigel saw Cedric’s wet hair and now he knew that Maia had just woken up. It was pretty clear

Maia frowned. She pushed Cedric aside and looked at Nigel, “What did you want to tell me, Nigel?”

Nigel gave the verdict to her, “We won the case. | wanted to tell you the good news myself, but | didn’t bet on seeing him here.*. “Thank you.” Maia took the verdict and said, “It's all thanks to you, Nigel!”

“Just doing my duty.”

Then, she gave the verdict to Buck, who walked briskly to her and took it.

Looking at Cedric, she said distantly, “You saved me last night, Cedric. | asked Baz to call a doctor for you because your stomach acted up. | even took you in for the night. It’s fair to say I've done enough for you. We’re even now.”

Cedric smiled and said, “That’s never going to happen.” He sounded casual, but his tone was imposing. Nigel felt better when he heard what Maia said, but he was pissed off by Cedric’s reply.

Nigel was about to have it out with Cedric but he glared at him so intimidating that it stopped him. Even Buck, who was standing next to them, could feel the intensity.

Buck grabbed Nigel cheerfully and said, “We have more cases for you, Mr. Nigel. Let me tell you all about them.” He was merely finding an excuse to take Nigel away from this place. As Maia’s assistant, it was his duty to help her out. x
