Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 259

Chapter 259 My Maia

Maia was stunned for a long time. She snapped back to reality after Cedric called out to her again.

“Maia...”

Her body stiffened when she heard his tone. It was different this time. The love and longing in his tone were unmistakable.

She was shocked. She replayed his tone in her mind over and over again. No one had ever spoken her name like that. He was the first to do so.

Maia frowned. Franklin’s words came back to haunt her. Her lips twitched and she said to herself, “It’s true. To love him again is to take chances. You need courage for that. However, my courage is all but spent. | no longer have it in me to love him.”

She spoke softly, but each word was filled with deep sorrow. A drop of tear fell from her eyes and landed on Cedric. He frowned immediately, as though the warm tear had stung him, and said worriedly, “Don’t be scared, Maia...”

There was that tone again. Maia turned around and left the room briskly. She closed the door immediately, leaned on it, and took a deep breath.

Her legs were trembling. She sank to the ground slowly. Her shoulders started to shake uncontrollably as her tears flowed.

Cedric Larkin. This man meant so much to her in the past. Now, it seemed, she was starting to feel more strongly about him. She bit her lip and tried to keep a lid on her emotions. She

started to see what Franklin meant and agreed with him.

“| might still love you in my heart, but | no longer dare to put it into action. My courage was spent back when you lost your memories and forgot about me.

“It takes courage to love again. However, you have cast me aside one too many times, despite my best efforts. From that point on, | learned to be independent. So, what right do you have to ask me to take a chance on you again?”

Maia’s fists clenched tightly. She closed her eyes and took another deep breath, trying to hold back her tears.

She peered into the room and nothing had changed in there. She did not know when he would come around. Franklin said it was just a stomach problem, though, so he was probably okay and would wake up very soon.

She wiped away her tears and gave a call to Baz so he could come over and look after Cedric. However, it seemed he was unreachable. Maia looked at her phone and frowned.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

What was going on here? He was only sending Franklin back home. Why was he unreachable?

She made a few more calls but it was still the same. She had no other choice but to go back to the room where Cedric was.

She could not just leave him to his fate. She would not be able to forgive herself if anything happened to him while he was in her house. After much consideration, Maia decided to sit by the side of the bed and wait for him to come around.

She stared at his dashing face and was lost in thought. She could not understand it. How did he have the kind of willpower to force open the elevator door and carry her up twelve floors, all while he was having intense stomach pains?

She sighed and recalled that Baz had given her a document earlier. She cast a glance at Cedric, making sure he was still asleep and went to take the document from the living room.

Maia opened the file as she walked back to the room and sat down by the bed. At the moment she saw its contents, she swung her head and looked at him.

The document contains every bit of information about Victor’s malpractice. That included evidence of when he furthered his own goals by making his company’s celebrities provide illegal sexual services to the other big moguls in the industry.

There were written documents, evidence, as well as pictures in there. She could put Victor behind bars with these! His imprisonment would take a heavy toll on Mykonos Studio, and that’s when she would swoop in and acquire his company. It would be a piece of cake!

Maia’s hands trembled as her mind replayed what Franklin said about the trap and the path that Cedric cleared for her. This document was hard proof that he did exactly what Franklin

said he would. “Cedric...”

Atear fell onto the document. The moon was bright tonight. It cast a gentle ray of light into the room and dispersed the darkness in there. With it, it illuminated Maia’s heart ever so

slightly.

Some time had passed and dawn’came. Maia could no longer stay awake. Her eyes closed slowly as she fell into slumber., Cedric opened his eyes when he was sure she had fallen asleep. He stared at her. She was his

whole world.

“Maia,” he said with that tender tone. Then, he stood up and carried her into the bed. He continued to stare at her lovingly. He finally understood how it felt to be so in love with someone he could not control his actions.

Cedric leaned in and kissed her on her forehead and her lips.

“Sleep well, Maia.”

Then, he pulled up the blanket and held her in his embrace. Maia was soundly asleep. She did not realize what was happening. She wriggled and leaned in closer to his chest, searching for a comfortable spot to sleep in.

Then, the doorbell rang.

“Mmph...” Maia moaned and raised her hand to block off the sunlight. She loved lying in bed and was always cranky if someone disturbed her sleep. So, when the doorbell kept ringing, she grabbed the blanket and covered herself with it.

“Ugh... So annoying...”

Cedric had just taken a bath and was wiping his hair dry. She looked so adorable. He walked toward her with a smile on his face and kissed her on her nose.

“Someone’s here. Are you going to get the door?”

“You can do it...” Maia’s eyes were still closed when she answered
