The Untouchable Ex-Wife

Chapter 1896

Chapter 1896

Although Adie was just a child, he was not afraid of death. The only thing he was afraid of was his parents separating if he died. "You don't know how hard it is for Mommy. She gave birth to Abby and I and raised us alone, and even though she encountered so many obstacles, she resolved them all on her own. She's the greatest and kindest woman I've ever met." Adie recalled the time he spent with Renee and Abby on Sun Island wistfully, and felt sorry for Renee. "Daddy, I can swear that you're the man Mommy loves the most. Don't be mad at her. Just forgive her, okay?"

"I was never mad at her, silly. I'm the one who made a mistake. I should be begging for her forgiveness instead.... because she's the woman I love the most too!" Stefan's eyes glistened with unshed tears. Even though he and Renee kept breaking up and getting back together with each other, he had never stopped loving her. He tried to distance himself from her because he didn't want her to get hurt again, but he hadn't expected that he would never see her again. If he had known, he would have told her that he'd always loved her. He didn't want her to have any regrets. Unfortunately, fate was cruel... He never expected things to turn out like this.

"Daddy, you didn't promise me. You can't be mad at Mommy or fight with her. Once we get rescued, you both have to reconcile. I want our family of four to be together forever!" Adie's breathing grew weaker, but he was determined to relay his greatest wish to Stefan.

"..." Stefan watched the water level getting higher, and nodded. He sobbed, "If there's a next life, our family of four will be together forever!" Unfortunately, the cave had been sealed entirely after the hurricane, so there was no next life for them. Stefan closed his eyes and thought, 'I'm sorry for breaking my promise, Renee. I couldn't give you and the kids a good life. Suddenly, he felt a cool breeze against his face.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

"What?" Stefan abruptly opened his eyes and saw a vague ray of light from the entrance of the cave. The breeze might have come from that hole. He thought he was imagining things, but the hole started to grow bigger, and more light flooded into the cave.

"Mr. Hunt, are we... in heaven?" The captain asked tearfully, his arms shaking from holding Tiffany up.

"I don't think it's heaven..." Stefan murmured in awe. Staring at the entrance, he whispered to Adie, "Adie, wake up. An angel is here to save us!"
