Chapter 1904
Ryan knew this was Liam’s way of making the “game” more difficult for him.
He no longer played around with words and sprinted toward the elevator several meters away, frantically pressing the buttons.
A few excruciating seconds later, the doors slowly opened, only to reveal five henchmen waiting inside, wielding sharp blades.
...
At the swimming pool, Liam lay on a lounge chair, smoking his favorite cigar while playing his favorite rustic tunes on his phone. Every few minutes, he glanced at his watch, smacked his lips, and continued to rest his eyes.
Twenty minutes later, the elevator doors directly facing the pool beeped and opened. Liam's bored, half-closed eyes suddenly widened.
He saw Ryan stepping over bodies strewn on the ground.
Ryan’s steps were heavy but resolute as he walked toward the pool. He was like a war god emerging from a sea of corpses.
Blood stained his cold, handsome face, and his white shirt had been dyed a glaring, striking red.
“Wow, kid… Impressive.” Liam took a deep drag of his cigar, genuinely gaining a bit more respect for the young man. He had not expected Ryan to emerge alive from the elevator. But this kid just did it.
When Logan was young, he was a legendary figure in the underworld, and Ryan already had a faint resemblance to his grandfather in his prime.
Ryan walked into the pool area, staring intensely at his sworn enemy, his lips pale and his body cold.
He had more than one knife wound on his body, and his arm was still bleeding. The elevator battle had nearly cost him his life, and it was his budding love for Carrie and his worry for Yasmin that had driven him to endure the attacks.
"Ryan, you’re something else." Liam gave him a thumbs up.
"Where are Carrie and Yasmin?" Ryan panted, the sweat on his face washing away the bloodstains.
"Now that you’re here, don’t be in such a rush. Let’s have a heart-to-heart talk." Liam turned off the rustic tunes and smiled meaningfully. "After all, such an opportunity won’t come again in the future."
"Did you kill my grandfather and my father?"
"Of course," Liam answered with a smile.
"Why..."
"Because they both hindered me to different extents from getting what should have been mine."
"What should have been yours? Liam, you are utterly shameless and devoid of humanity." Ryan’s words were weighty, and his gaze was as sharp as a blood-stained blade.
"Hoffman Group never belonged to you. It was my grandfather who painstakingly built the family business and my father who worked tirelessly to make Hoffman Group into one of the four major companies in Savrow, achieving its current status. It has nothing to do with you!"
"No, no, no..." Liam shook his finger. "What I want is mine. Anything I want is mine."
This man was absurd and insane!NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
"Ryan, when you were little, I quite liked you too. I even held you, a heavy, chubby, cute kid." Liam sighed sorrowfully.
"It’s a pity you are my brother’s son. If you were my son, I would have treated you better than my brother ever would. I would have gone to any lengths to give you the best things in the world."
"That wish of yours doesn’t even deserve to be in your mind!"
Ryan suddenly gave a wicked smile. "Heh, but it is not surprising you have such thoughts, considering you lack the ability to reproduce. Heaven has eyes and does not want scum like you to harm the next generation, so it stripped you of the right to be a father. It’s rather fitting, don’t you think?"
The smile on Liam's face gradually darkened, and his eyes were filled with malice.
"You want my life? Here I am. Release Carrie and Yasmin, and I will play with you." Ryan's eyes were cold and fierce.
"As expected of my brother's good son, you have guts!" Liam shouted, "Lewis, bring out the two ladies!"
