Chapter 304
Chapter 304
Kick her out?
Sylvester sat up straight and asked solemnly, “What did she do?”
Angie pursed her lips and hesitated for a bit before replying, “Fashionista dedicated tons of its
resources to help make her an A-list celebrity in hopes of her being awarded Best Actress at the
Oscars. However, as you know, it is impossible for those in the entertainment industry to rise up without
doing sexual favors. Throughout the past few years, Ms. Rose has been the one winning the award for
Best Actress. That woman is your typical social butterfly, so there's no way Rainie could ever beat her.”
As Angie had dropped some very obvious hints, Sylvester immediately understood what she was trying
to say.
“You mean an internal decision was made to grant Rose the Best Actress award at the Oscars again
this year?”
Angie nodded. “I'm sure you're already aware of the statement released by Cosmos Studios. Those
awarded Best Actor and Best Actress this year will be given the lead roles in “Time Warp,” which is a
masterpiece nominated for a literary award by Morpheus. Given the huge fanbase that it has, Rose
would surely jump at the opportunity. She's close with the wife of LG Corporation's CEO, so she's
bound to win the Best Actress award this year.”
Sylvester narrowed his eyes and asked coldly, “Is that why Fashionista is pressuring Rainie? They
want her to win the Best Actress award this year, or they'll kick her out?”
“That's right.” Angie let out a sigh as she continued, “Rainie is a reserved and modest woman, so she
refuses to sleep with the big shots in the entertainment industry. If you don't help her, then she'll haveBelonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
no choice but to—”
Sylvester cut her off by waving at her.
“All right, I'll help her out. Stay with Rainie and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid. I'll kill you if
she sacrifices her body for the sake of some stupid award.”
Angie's eyes lit up with joy when she heard that.
According to my research on Sylvester, he's a close friend of Artemis, the head of Luther Group. If he
can get Artemis involved in this, then the Best Actress award could belong to Rainie!
“Thank you very much, Mr. Hollett. I'll be sure to keep an eye on Rainie, so she doesn't do anything
stupid.”
Meanwhile, inside the private room of a fancy café, Raiden placed a check in front of Veronique and
said, “Please accept this as a form of compensation from my family, Ms. Revelle.”
Veronique's lips curled into a sarcastic grin when she saw the eight-figure check on the table.
“I'm getting paid tens of millions just to keep my mouth shut? The Fletcher family sure is generous,
huh? Well, I suppose I should expect as much from a family that is about to ascend to the pinnacle of
power. Unfortunately, a girl like me has no need for such money, so bribing me like this isn't going to
work,” she said while picking up the check and tearing it to pieces in front of Raiden.
The man narrowed his eyes and asked with a frown, “What's the meaning of this, Ms. Revelle? Are you
planning to remain in Hallsbay and continue harassing Justin? If that's the case, then things are
definitely going to end badly for you. I can guarantee you that much.
“Why would I want to keep used goods? If Ms. Fletcher likes him that much, she can have him for all I
care. I suggest you advise her to keep a close eye on him, though. If he dares harass my son and me,
I'll be sure to throw a monkey wrench into their marriage,” Veronique replied with a sneer.
She then grabbed her handbag and made her way to the door. “My son and I will be leaving tonight, so
you can spare yourself the trouble of kicking us out of here.”
With a mysterious look in his eyes, Raiden stared at her in silence until she completely disappeared
from sight.
I wish Scarlett had half of Veronique's level of independence... That way, she wouldn't be so dependent
on men all the time. Honestly, those two are as different as night and day! If I were to choose a woman
for myself, I'd probably pick a strong and independent one as well.
Meanwhile, at the Revelle residence, Zephyr and Zayron were sneaking into Veronique's bedroom.
“Hey, Zayron! Are you sure we can get them a marriage certificate without them being present at City
Hall? I doubt the staff there would even entertain our request!” Zephyr asked.
“Look, you don't have to worry about that. Just shut up and keep looking for the household registry!”
Zayron replied as he rummaged through a nearby suitcase.
After searching for a bit, Zayron paused and came up with another idea.
“You know what? I think I might have a much better idea!”
Zephyr stared at him with a frown and waited for Zayron to continue.
“What if we have your mom and dad get it on in a hotel room, then have a bunch of journalists take
pictures of them in the act? With their scandal all over the news, I wonder if the Fletcher family will still
want your dad!” Zayron continued.
What a nasty idea!
Zephyr grabbed a pillow and threw it at his head. “You can do that to your parents if you want to. Don't
ruin my family with that plan of yours!”
Meanwhile, in the CEO's office at Luther Group headquarters, Sylvester was staring at Artemis with a
faint smile on his face.
“I have hit a snag and need your help. Will you help me out?”
Artemis shot him a cold glare and let out a snicker. “What good are you if you can't even resolve your
woman's problems? You dishonor your excellent family background. You should go back to Golden
Triangle. Honestly, you're such a disgrace!”
Sylvester mumbled with a pout. “Hey, I can't help it. All of my power and influence is in the underworld,
especially in Golden Triangle. I could easily get you the most addictive drug available on the black
market, but I have no connections in the entertainment industry whatsoever.”
Artemis' eyelid twitched when he heard that.
Why would I want to destroy my life by getting hooked on drugs?
“Right... Rainie, was it? I'll contact the person in charge of the Oscars and have them give your woman
the award instead. Anything else? If not, get the heck out of my office. My wife doesn't like seeing that
nasty face of yours.”
Sylvester was about to lash out at Artemis when he realized what he had just said. “Wait, are you
saying a phone call is all it takes to solve the problem? You'd better not be pulling my leg here,
Ratemis! Rainie's future is at stake here!”
“Get lost!” Artemis yelled.
After rushing over to Lunar Bar, Bailey entered a private room and was greeted by the strong smell of
alcohol.
She instinctively frowned as she scanned the room and saw Juliana lying on the couch.
“Why have you been drinking so much, Julie? Did something happen to you?”
Juliana slowly opened her eyes and stared at Bailey with a dazed look on her face. “It's funny you ask
me that because you know exactly what happened. Or are you so busy that you forgot what you did?”
Bailey frowned as she reached out to pull her up. “You're drunk, Julie. Just this once, I'll pretend it was
the alcohol talking. Come on, let's get you back to the condominium.”
“I'm not drunk! You can drop that pretentious act of yours and leave me alone! I don't want to see you
right now!” Juliana yelled as she shoved her off.
Having been caught off guard, Bailey lost her balance and fell to the floor.
