Chapter 1800
Chapter 1800
Sherry said, “You are now the CEO of the company, and we are working. If not Mr. Sager, what should | call you?” Carl curved his eyes. “When | wasn’t the CEO, you never called me Young Master Carl either.”
Sherry gulped. “In the workplace, there’s only the superior and the employee, no Young Master Carl or whatever.” “Hmph. Fine.” He chuckled and stepped aside.
Sherry continued forward, but when she walked past him, he held her wrist. She was caught off guard.
He looked at her with his beautiful eyes and said softly, “Sis, if you really want to go, can you stop calling me Mr. Sager?” Sherry’s eyes flickered. “Okay.”
Carl smiled and released her wrist.
She then strode outside.
He looked slightly disheartened. He only went to chase after her after she left the office.
Lisa’s car was waiting downstairs.
As soon as Sherry walked out of the lobby, Lisa’s driver opened the door for her.
Sherry went over.
Lisa was waiting for her with a smile. She waved at Sherry and said, “Come on in. Let’s go have something good.”
Seeing that Lisa reacted just fine to her resignation, Sherry’s lifted heart finally felt relieved. She entered the car and sat beside her.
The driver closed the door and then returned to the driver's seat.
Sherry was slightly surprised. She looked outside the window and then Lisa timely said, “Carl has something else to do. We will be having lunch on our own.”
Sherry hummed a reply. Deep down, she sighed a breath of relief because Carl was not coming. She had no idea how to face him now that she had tendered her resignation.
The car drove for half an hour to reach a local seafood restaurant. Despite its seclusive location, the restaurant actually had a line in front.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Fortunately, Lisa booked a table, and it seemed like she knew the owner. As soon as they got down from the car, the owner came over to welcome them personally.
They were brought to a quiet room on the second floor.
“Lisa, the usual?” the owner asked.
Lisa nodded and then said, “And two more bottles of that fruit wine that you brewed yourself.”
The owner nodded and left the room to prepare.
Lisa pursed her lips and then said, “Sherry, this restaurant is one of the best in Coastrock. I've always
wanted to bring you here, but work caught up. Who would have thought this would be a farewell lunch for you?”
Sherry’s eyes flickered. “Lisa, I...”
“You can be yourself in front of me. | know you are going to leave sooner or later, but | didn’t expect you’d stay for so long. Sherry, you don’t need to feel guilty about it. You’ve done a lot for me, Carl, and the company,” Lisa consoled her.
She then opened her purse and revealed a package wrapped in a paper bag. “Here’s a little present that | have for you. Take it.” She put the package in front of Sherry.
Curious, Sherry opened it.
When she saw the contents, her eyes widened in shock. She covered it and pushed it back to Lisa. “Lisa, | can’t take this. It’s too much.”
Inside the paper bag was a housing agreement. Lisa had bought a seaside mansion and several other shops in the golden area under Sherry’s name. They were worth a fortune.
“Sherry, | have always treated you as my own daughter.”
Lisa pushed the paper bag back and held Sherry’s hand. She put on a serious look and said, “The properties | bought are all in Coastrock. The reason | gave them to you is that | want you to know this place is your home as well.
“If things don’t go well in Glenchester, you can come back whenever you want. My door is always open for you. Understand?” Sherry was deeply moved. She somehow started to tear up. “Lisa, | promise I'll visit often even if | go back.”
Even without the properties, she never planned to cut ties with her.
