Master Odell’s Secret Ex-wife

Chapter 1799

Chapter 1799

John simply smiled.

Sherry pushed him away.

It was then that a tiny figure entered her sight from the room. Caprice had woken up without her knowledge. The girl was in her pajamas. Her hair was messy, and she was looking at them with her big googly eyes. “Daddy, Mommy, are you two kissing?” she asked innocently and curiously.

Sherry blushed. She choked upon hearing the question and then looked at John.

John smiled in reply. He went to Caprice and carried the girl into his arms. “Daddy and Mommy are saying good morning to each other,” he said.NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

“Saying good morning means kissing?” the girl asked. Sherry smirked. She was anticipating John’s made-up excuse.

John smiled and then said, “You can choose to kiss or not when you say good morning. You can only kiss people that you like and cannot do it to people you are not close with. Got it?”

Caprice’s eyes shimmered with interest. “Oooo.” John then looked at Sherry. She sighed a breath of relief and muttered in her heart, ‘What a cunning man!’

With Aunt Wanda taking care of Caprice, Sherry could spare some worry. She no longer had to wake up early in the morning to prepare herself and then help Caprice with the same. She just had to have breakfast with Caprice and John before she went to work.

At the end of the day, she would come home and have dinner with the two of them again.

She sometimes brought work home to do after dinner, but most of the time was spent playing with Caprice, or together with John.

The simple and fulfilling life went by swiftly. Half a year passed since then.

Carl had successfully launched multiple projects since he took over. The division managers and employees had gotten used to his work style as well. In conclusion, other than the unexpected accidents from time to time, everything progressed smoothly.

To everyone’s surprise, Carl improved a lot and carried out his responsibilities with flying colors.

After Sherry settled all the lingering projects, she handed in her resignation letter. She spent a few nights thinking about how to write the letter and even got John to help. In the end, the letter was a few hundred words long.

However, even after she emailed Lisa the resignation letter, her heart remained restless.

The next day, she arrived at her office, but her mind was somewhere else. She stared in the air blankly for the whole morning, and it was her subordinate who brought her back from her trance by calling her name

a few times.

Her nervousness and restlessness continued until later in the afternoon.

Knocks came from her door.

She thought it was her subordinate looking for her. “Come in.”

The door opened and Carl, in his handsome and professional suit, entered.

It had been half a year since he took over the company. Maybe because of the pressure that he has been feeling, he looked and behaved a lot more maturely than before. Often, she felt like she did not know the

man.

Seeing him in her office, Sherry bolted up and smiled professionally. “Mr. Sager, what is it?”

Carl's eyes flickered. “My mom saw your resignation letter. She asked me to invite you to lunch later.”

Sherry was slightly baffled. “She could have just called me. Why send you here?”

Carl looked at her. “I want to come here.

“It's been a week since | last saw you, so | thought I’d come here myself,” he added.

Sherry’s eyes flickered. She averted his gaze and said, “Alright. Then let’s go, don’t keep Lisa waiting.”

Carl remained silent.

Just when Sherry wanted to head to the door, Carl stepped in front and blocked her way.

Sherry took a step back and looked at him with furrowed brows.

He smiled at her with his charming eyes. His usual flirtatious gaze was somehow filled with sorrow and mockery.

“Sis, it's only been a week since we last saw each other and you are already calling me Mr. Sager?”
