Redmption 302

Chapter 302

By the time I was wrapped up in a towel and carried back to bed, I realized I was perhaps a succubus Indeed. I also discovered, once again, that Bran trained principles were unshakeable. For all Brandon did was give me a bath and nothing else.

I had tested his boundaries before, but I hated losing and did not stop provoking him. "I bet you just can't get it up, Brandon."

That had to be the final straw. No man could remain calm in the face of such a direct insult to their manhood. Alas, Brandon was no ordinary man, and from you. Don't try to provoke me because it won't work."

He saw through my filthy thoughts and lust-driven schemes.

"That's very hurtful of you to say," I grumbled, pouting as I pulled the covers over me in disappointment.

He pried the covers away from my face and reassured me gently, "It's not that I can't get it up or that you aren't attractive. I just don't want to hurt you, so I'd rather wait until you've fully recovered."

I blushed. "And what if I never recover? Are you going to take an oath of celibacy then?"

Brandon's lips curled in amusement. "Even if the oath is eternal, yes."

I stared at him incredulously, pulled the covers over my head, and

refused to speak to him again. However, he pulled me into his arms, blanket and all.

"I won't let that happen. I promise," Brandon murmured!

My face warmed. He planted soft, lazy kisses on me as he said in a low, hoarse voice, "Wait here. I'm going to take a shower."

I bet it was a cold shower.

No sooner had the thought crossed my mind did Brandon volunteer the clarification, albeit jokingly, "A cold shower."

I was speechless. Unshakeable principles indeed. He would sooner catch hypothermia than hurt me.

My nose prickled as I called out to Brandon's retreating figure, "Brandon?"

He turned around. "Yes?"

"You're really, really good in bed," I said, then stuck my tongue out and hid myself under the covers before he caught me blushing.

He chuckled. "I know."

I had fallen asleep when he returned to bed, worn out from my episode this afternoon, even though Brandon had soothed my turbulent emotions

I slept soundly through the night, and I wondered if it was because I had Brandon sleeping next to me. I was surprised to wake to the morning light

even more so when I noticed Brandon reading next to me. He would usually be off to his morning workout by now.

I concluded that he was a man of many faces, and each of them was surprising. It also set him apart from everyone else in my life.

I did not disturb him and merely watched him silently A few minutes passed before he turned and met my gaze.

"Good morning," he said, setting down his book and brushing his thumb across my forehead.

Feeling like an infant who had just been awakened by her parents, I snuggled closer to him and asked, "Why are you reading instead of working out?"

“I didn't want you to wake up and find me missing,” he explained indulgently.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

I knew he didn't want to leave me alone in case I had a nightmare and woke up in a panic. I propped myself up just enough to snuggle in his lap. "You're the best guy I've ever met, Brandon. The very best." Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

"Noted," Brandon answered without much enthusiasm.

"I just complimented you and put you on a pedestal. Can't you at least try to sound happy?" I protested. "Thank you for the generous praise, Mrs. Howell," he drawled. Content

Blushing furiously, I whined, "No one said anything about being your wife! I never agreed to marry you. Besides, you never proposed!" "Okay," was all he said.

"Will you stop with the deadpan responses?"

It seemed I was saddled with supplying the conversation between us, seeing as Brandon was a man of such few words. And even when he did try to k
