Love's Redemption

Brandon sighed. "Because you're the only person who can make me abandon all my principles."

His sweet-talking was impressive and effortless. He even sounded like he was commenting on the weather while he was at it. He was telling me he loved me without actually using the word "love".

My eyes stung. Chewing on my flatbread, I said incoherently, "Come here, Brandon."

"Why?" Brandon asked, giving me a baffled look.

"Stop asking questions and do as you're told," I said stubbornly without explaining.

He rose to his feet and came over. He had just sat down when I leaned forward and put my head on his shoulder. He stiffened under me, and I said, "F Brandon chuckled lightly, and my lips curled with a covert smile as well.

After dinner, we left the hospital and went home. When Brandon had tucked me into bed, I asked, "Will you be sleeping here or in your room tonight?"

"Here," he answered without hesitation.

Images of him doing push-ups and taking cold showers at midnight flashed through my mind. Wincing, I pressed my lips into a hard line and warned, "Fine, but you can't do push-ups in the middle of the night."

His cheeks flushed when he heard this, and he bit out, "Don't bring that up again."

I burrowed into his embrace and wrapped my arms around his waist. "I won't if you don't do it."

Brandon swallowed. "Mae, stop it."

“Having a hard time controlling yourself?" I teased boldly, wickedly.

I felt his grip tighten on my waist.

"Behave yourself, Mae. And stop... teasing me." His voice had turned low and hoarse as he growled the last two words.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

"Do you want it, Brandon?" I asked. I didn't bother with decency at this point.

"Mae..."

I lifted his T-shirt with one hand and snaked the other under it, my fingers grazing warm skin.

His voice had turned dangerously gravelly as he groaned. "Mae."

I rose to my tiptoes and whispered into his ear, all the while pressing myself against the hard planes of his body, "I'm all better now."

Brandon froze. I had recovered, but he seemed skeptical, and that kept him from responding to my

advances.

I wondered what had come over me. I was like a

thing possessed, my excitement at his restraint turning into feral delight when I saw the beads of sweat

breaking out over his temples and the throbbing vein near his hairline.

“Mae, let's just wait a bit, all right? You might not be fully well yet, and even if you are, we should be safe and wait a while longer." Brandon reasoned with me, though I knew he could barely keep his hands off me. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

I shook my head. "No, I want it now."

"Mae..."

"The more you say no, the more I want it," I purred.

Brandon made no reply and simply pinned me with a long, hard stare. My heart was thundering in my chest like a sinner in church.

A moment later, my body was a weightless thing as he scooped me into his arms and carried me up. Knowing I had gotten away with my wickedness, I slumped over his shoulder and giggled diabolically. I suddenly thought about the two young ladies at the office today who were gossiping about him. Reaching up to brush my fingers over his hickey, I asked, "I heard you were parading through all the

departments today. Were you trying to show off your mark?" Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

"Something like that," Brandon said, his breath labored.

"What do you mean?" I was being carried into the bathroom.

"I wasn't showing off as much as I was informing the others,” he explained as he set me down on the sink counter.

I had yet to notice anything amiss. “Informing them of what?"

He leaned forward, trapping me between his glorious body and the bathroom wall. My skin tingled as his warmy breath spilled over my collarbones. My blood practically sang at his rough voice and flickering gaze. "Informing those who might be interested in me that

I'm already taken." Content belongs

I laughed again, unapologetically. I wasn't mocking Brandon. Rather, I was moved by his words. This was the first time a man had ever told me such things and openly accepted my claim of them.

Brandon did not stop me from giggling. By the time I stopped, he grabbed my collar, and only then did I realize we were in the bathroom.

It seemed he had chosen a different location for our second time.
