Chapter 294 Telling the World About It
The following morning, as the sun began its ascent, the man lying in the hospital bed stirred slightly.
His eyelids fluttered like delicate butterfly wings, and after a brief moment, Nathael slowly opened his
eyes.
Across from him, Maggie was seated in a chair beside the bed, her head tilted as she dozed lightly.
Nathael paused, then shifted his gaze towards her.
Her face, small and pale, bore two faint scratches, lending her a weary yet serene appearance.
Nathael couldn’t resist reaching out to gently brush her hair.
Sensing his movement, Maggie awoke abruptly, sitting up to meet Nathael’s gaze. “You’re awake… How are you feeling?” she inquired.
“I’m okay. Come, lie down beside me.” Nathael’s voice was husky as he made space for her on the bed.
“You should drink some water first.” Maggie poured a glass of warm water, her expression filled with concern. “Do you want me to call the doctor to check on you?”
“No need. It’s not serious. I know my body,” Nathael reassured her softl
Upon hearing this, Maggie stared at him incredulously, tears welling up in her eyes.
Not serious….
Not serious?!
How could he say that? If this is not serious, then what is?
Is a broken finger not serious enough?
Watching her eyes redden as she fought back tears, Nathael felt a pang of worry. He propped himself up and reached out to grab her by the wrist and gently pull her closer.”
“Why are you crying? I’m really fine.”
Maggie turned away and remained silent, unable to bear the sight of his injured finger.
The severed finger had been reattached, but it had to go through a long period of rehabilitation and would never regain its nimbleness.
“Are you upset?” Nathael asked gently, but Maggie remained silent as she sniffled, her mood low.
Suddenly, Nathael took a sharp breath.
“What’s the matter?” Maggie asked, alarmed by his expression.
Nathael frowned, his face paling slightly.
“Is something wrong? Should I call the doctor?”

Maggic moved to leave the room, but Nathael grabbed her wrist and held her back.
He had a cold demeanour and sharp features. His grip tightened around Maggie’s hand as he spoke in a low voice, “My heart hurts.”
Maggie was stunned. “What’s wrong with your heart? Why would it hurt?”
Anxious thoughts flooded Maggie’s mind. She hadn’t heard anything about heart problems from the doctor!
Maggie’s eyes welled up in a rush. Then Nathael spoke, “My heart hurts because you’re ignoring me.”
Maggie snapped back, frustrated.
“Nathael! How dare you trick me!”
Nathael raised an eyebrow calmly. “No, it really hurts.”
Maggie was furious, feeling like she was storming out and slamming the door. But she couldn’t do it, so she just glared at him. Her almond eyes were slightly widened, tinged with redness, as if tears were about to fall, yet she held them back.
Nathael pressed his lips firmly against hers and pulled her onto the bed.
Maggie turned her head away, warning, “Don’t touch me. Careful of your wound.”
Nathael’s cool lips brushed against her ear and neck, leaving a tingling sensation.
“It’ll be fine if you don’t move,” Nathael said in a deep voice, his dark eyes filled with intense emotions.
He was terrified; he had almost lost her right before his eyes.
Nathael looked down and gently pressed his lips against hers, and then he finally relaxed.
He kissed her tenderly, as if afraid he would wake up from this sweet dream if he used force. The soft kiss carried the gratitude of a second chance and a deep sense of cherishment.
Knock, knock…
The sound broke the moment. Leslie entered, wearing a white coat.
Maggie recoiled, swiftly pushing Nathael away. A faint blush tinged her once–pale checks as a subtle rosy hue extended from her cheeks towards her ears.
Nathael appeared somewhat upset, lacking enthusiasm as he glanced at Leslie.
Leslie, stationed by the bedside, checked various readings, then quipped. ‘Seems like having Maggie around works better than any magic potion.”
“Get lost!” Nathael’s voice was firm, indicating his impatience.
Unfazed, Leslie changed his bandages. “I need to return to Aquapolis at noon. What’s your plan. Nathael? Are you and Maggie staying here or going back?”
Nathael nondered briefly “We’ll return to Aquanolis‘

After Timothy angered Old Mr. Harris back then, he was confined to a private residence in Alosea until last
year.
In simpler terms, Timothy had spent years in Alosea, though his confinement had loosened over the years due to him being a Haris.
“Alright, we’ll go together.”
After Leslie nodded, he turned to Maggie and suggested, “Let Nathael assist you with changing the bandages on your back. He’s skilled at it.”
This made Maggie blush again, leaving her momentarily speechless. Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
Why is he acting so kind, suggesting such a thing?!
Just the thought of Nathael changing her bandages made Maggie uneasy.
Tsk, no wonder they say Nathael never makes a bad deal. He traded a finger for Maggie’s heart; what a great bargain.” Jimmy chuckled, his demeanour playful yet mischievous.
“Heh, a great bargain indeed. But I haven’t settled the score with him yet, causing such trouble right under my nose. Ericko’s tone was gentle, though his words lacked courtesy.
Nathael met Ericko’s gaze without flinching, his voice low. “You’re right. I failed to protect her.”
“Ericko… Maggie couldn’t help but interject. She was aware that Ericko was angry that she had gotten. hurt, but she couldn’t bear Nathael blaming himself.
Ericko changed the subject, addressing Nathael. “How are you feeling? Maggie cried herself to sleep last night; her eyes are still swollen.”
Maggie was dumbfounded.
Why’s he telling the world about it?!
Why are these people making my life so difficult?!
I didn’t. Ericko, stop lying!” Maggie retorted, her expression dete
Jimmy took a seat on the sofa, lost in his thoughts, his eyes enchanting and captivating. “Had Nathael woke up later, Maggie might have jumped off the building.”
“Nonsense! I’ve already envisioned what my next boyfriend would be like!” Maggie exclaimed, feeling irritated. Her statement left the room in a strange silence for a moment.
A few seconds later, Jimmy burst into laughter, his face strikingly handsome.
Maggie felt like crying. Why did this crazy person come here and spout nonsense, forcing me to say these ridiculous things?!
