Chapter 686 This Is My Territory
In a daze, a fleeting thought, too swift for her to fully comprehend, raced through Chloe's mind. She felt a faint sense of familiarity in Frieda as if they had crossed paths before. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
Chloe did not dwell on it for long, though. Leaning back, a mischievous glint danced in her eyes as she said, "A few successful cases won't cut it. I want you to assist me in crafting our next strategy."
Upon hearing this, a smile tugged at the corner of Noah's lips.
Frieda readily agreed, her response swift and confident, "No problem."
After she departed, Noah reached for a pen and twirled it between his fingers. "You were testing Frieda," he remarked.
Chloe shook her head. "Not entirely. To have become number one in sales, she must be special. She just seems familiar to me, and I wish to use this opportunity to get closer and see if it jogs my memory."
Noah remembered how Frieda had impressed the interviewers when she applied with the company several years ago. Despite her seemingly blank resume, she displayed a profound understanding of the luxury goods industry, especially in understanding the psychology of wealthy shoppers. It was this expertise in navigating their buying mentality that garnered her exceptional recognition during the recruitment process.

Upon arriving home, Frieda wasted no time in sending a few successful case studies to Chloe's email and sharing her thoughts on the new proposal. And in a not-so-subtle reminder, she said not to forget the invitation to the conference.
Upon receiving the email, Chloe promptly sent an invitation letter to Frieda via a local courier service. To her surprise, Frieda called on the day of the forum to say that she had misplaced the invitation and hoped to receive another one.
Chloe hesitated and did not respond immediately.
Frieda quickly added, "I promise a performance increase of 10% next month."
"Send me your location. I'll send it over."
Surely Chloe personally delivering an invitation letter was a joke, but she had to show her thanks to her benefactors. Frieda's performance numbers were double of the entire department combined. The ability to earn money reigned supreme, and leaders relied on their subordinates to provide for them. Delivering an invitation was a trivial task.
Chloe located an extra invitation letter, hopped into her car, and sped off. She found Frieda waiting at the entrance of Fairlight. Frieda had on makeup, a beige trench coat, and fashionable leather shoes. It was a stark contrast to her usual style. She was meticulously groomed, emanating an air of sophistication befitting an aristocrat. Chloe faltered for a moment, and a thought crossed her mind—a notion she swiftly suppressed. It was impossible, utterly impossible.
Judging by her age, Frieda could be Joseph's mother.
Shutting off the engine, Chloe stepped out of the car and walked toward Frieda. She handed over the invitation. Just as she turned to leave, she bumped into something solid.
"Are you blind? Don’t you see someone standing right here?" Chloe mumbled through her pain, clutching her forehead.
"This is my territory," a male voice retorted, laced with a subtle chill and an unmistakable air of dominance.
Chloe momentarily froze. Her head then snapped up to meet a strikingly handsome face standing just inches away from her.
"What's your problem? Why are you standing so close to me?" Chloe said in surprise. Disdain filled her eyes as she instinctively took a step backward.
Observing her reaction, Joseph grew frustrated. He sarcastically remarked, "You're the one standing at the entrance of my company, yet you question me? Are we playing a game of cat and mouse here?"
"Heh, you're really funny. I'll leave then. Happy?" Chloe rolled her eyes, taken aback by his shamelessness.
"It's too late. You’re not leaving without my permission."
Joseph disregarded Chloe's reaction as he forcefully gripped her hand and marched into Fairlight.
