Chapter 46
Chapter 46
Jon silently handed over the glass of warm water, clearly conveying his message–they were indeed out of jams as well.
Dorian coughed so violently that his chest started to hurt. In the end, he reluctantly accepted the warm water Jon offered him.
Aside from the slightly salty taste it had compared to the water earlier, was this water really worth 420 dollars?
After taking a sip to soothe his throat, Dorian refused to drink anymore.
He said irritably, “Get out of here! And tell the senior executives that we’ll be having the new quarterly planning meeting in ten minutes.”
Jon replied monotonously, “Noted, Mr. Jefferson.” Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
Dorian sat in the spacious office, surrounded by everything familiar to him. His favorite woody pear blossom scent permeated the space. Yet, at that moment, he felt like he was suffocating.
Everything around him was getting on his nerves.
Meanwhile, Jon went to the senior executives‘ office on the lower floor and relayed Dorian’s message to them.
At that moment, the senior executives, who had been working on some documents, were
dumbfounded.
Someone hesitantly asked, “Are you for real, Mr. Kiss? We just wrapped up the new quarterly plan two days ago. Mr. Jefferson even approved of it during the meeting. Why are-”
“Please ask him about it in the meeting,” Jon said as he walked away.
All of the senior executives were rendered speechless.
Since Dorian had decided to hold another meeting, it meant that he was dissatisfied with the 20% profit margin in their plan.
But they had already exerted themselves and racked their brains to come up with it!
Everyone was on the verge of tears. “There are only five minutes left! We don’t have time to come up with a new plan.”
After five minutes had passed, the meeting took place in Conference Room 1 of Jefferson
Group Tower.
The spacious conference room, which could easily accommodate 50 people, was only occupied by 15 people.
Nevertheless, when Dorian walked in with a scowl on his face, all the senior executives felt so suffocated that they felt like they couldn’t catch their breath.
“What are you all staring at? Get on with this meeting,” Dorian snapped when he noticed that the meeting had been going on for three minutes, yet no one had said anything yet.
His expression grew even more grim than before as he said that.
The atmosphere in the conference room felt more stifling than it had been a moment ago, leaving the typically decisive senior executives on the verge of tears.
Since they hadn’t had time to come up with a new plan, they naturally didn’t have anything to say during the meeting.
The project manager began to present, clutching the plan that had been approved at the meeting two days prior. As he spoke, he trembled uncontrollably.
They had anticipated Dorian reprimanding them. Yet, he remained silent throughout the meeting.
As a result, it somewhat alleviated the tension in the conference room.
Meanwhile, in Jefferson Villa, Declan happily looked at the photos taken by the private investigator.
In the photos, both Gisele and Dorian had their faces turned to the side, and even from that angle, their striking looks were apparent. They were truly a match made in heaven!
Zayla, who had just woken up from her nap, came downstairs. She was about to go shopping. When she saw Declan’s beaming face, she suddenly felt a sense of foreboding.
She walked over in her high heels and asked, “Dad, what are you looking at?”
When she saw the photo of Dorian and Gisele, she inwardly breathed a sigh of relief.
She indifferently averted her gaze and said, “Dad, what’s so interesting about this? Gisele looks so shabby, and she’s even peddling out there! She’s a complete disgrace!”
No one apart from Declan attached any importance to Gisele.
“You obviously have no idea what’s happening between them!
“When Don found out that Gisele’s stall had been set up on the main street behind Jefferson Group Tower, he immediately went to check it out despite acting all hypocritical about it,” Declan said as he contentedly put away the photos.
After that, he took out his phone and called Gisele.
On the other end of the phone, Gisele, who had skipped lunch to set up her stall, had taken advantage of the lull in customers to buy a takeout meal to eat.
“Hey, Grandpa Declan.” Gisele’s heart skipped a beat as she picked up Declan’s call. When she suddenly recalled how he had visited her the day before to cheer her on, her heart filled with pain again.
Declan smiled warmly and said, “Gisele, you’ve done a wonderful job! If you had done this earlier, I might have become a great–grandfather by now!”
