Darling, Please Love Me Again! (Gisele Meyer)

Chapter 45

Chapter 45

After all the customers had left, Gisele took out the cash from her fanny pack and counted it. Most people had paid electronically, and only a few had paid with cash.

Despite that, there was still a thick stack of money that needed to be counted.

Dorian glanced at Gisele, who had a complacent smile plastered all over her face. When he saw her smile, it truly grated on his nerves.

“Mr. Jefferson?” Jon looked at Dorian with a somewhat pleading expression.

Dorian didn’t even glance back as he walked toward Jefferson Group Tower. “What’s so amazing about a bunch of trash?

As soon as he said that, Jon didn’t press further and just followed him away.

When they walked away, Gisele’s complacent smile vanished, and a wry one crept across her

face instead.

While others had considered those items valuable, he merely saw them as nothing but a

bunch of trash.

What Dorian didn’t know was that the “trash” he was talking about was the result of her spending many sleepless nights painstakingly re–formulating traditional remedies to produce those ointments, jams, tea bags, and more.

She had invested so much effort

into it! Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Gisele sighed softly and rallied herself. “Gisele, you’re doing very well! You can do this! You’ll get over him soon!”

Meanwhile, Dorian took the private elevator to the top floor of Jefferson Group Tower. As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, he was greeted by the familiar aroma of medicinal herbs.

Immediately after, he saw that almost every one of his secretaries was carrying an anti- fatigue sachet.

Even though they were in an enclosed space, the numerous sachets only produced a faint. fragrance. It wasn’t overpowering. Instead, it made one feel relaxed instead.

Dorian’s face turned grim, and he picked up his pace.

Gisele had mentioned that she wouldn’t do business with anyone from Jefferson Group, yet every secretary in the company had one of the sachets.

He was even more convinced now that Gisele was playing hard to get and trying to make him yield first.

As soon as he stepped into the office and shut the door, Dorian heaved a sigh of relief as he completely isolated himself from the invigorating scent of the anti–fatigue sachets.

After unbuttoning two buttons of his shirt, he sat down and took a sip of water. When he tasted the bland tap water, he immediately furrowed his brows.

Dorian pressed the intercom with a sullen expression, and Jon immediately walked in. “Is there anything I can do for you, Mr. Jefferson?”

“When did Jefferson Group become so poor that it can only afford to serve tap water?” Dorian asked as he slammed the insulated mug on the table.

Jon earnestly explained, “Mr. Jefferson, this isn’t tap water. It’s a 16–ounce imported glacier

mineral water that costs 140 dollars.”

If this was considered poor, then perhaps no one in the world could afford to drink tap water.

Dorian was rendered speechless.

Did he really care about whether it was expensive mineral water? What he really cared about was the tea he usually had!

“Are you perhaps asking about the tea you usually consume?”

Jon suddenly grasped Dorian’s unsightly expression and solemnly added, “We’re currently out of them since Ms. Meyer used to replenish them regularly.”

Dorian immediately understood what Jon was trying to imply.

Jon had probably wanted to buy some earlier because Gisele hadn’t replenished them for quite some time. However, he hadn’t managed to buy any, so Dorian couldn’t drink any

either.

Dorian felt inexplicably agitated. Whenever he felt agitated, he couldn’t help but cough incessantly.

Jon tactfully turned on the air purifier and brought him a glass of warm water.

“Mr. Jefferson, please have a drink. It’s Korra Aqualuxe, priced at 420 dollars per bottle. It is said to contain anti–inflammatory properties.”

“Are we out of those jams as well?” Dorian’s expression immediately became gloomy.
