Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

Nelly received a call, the anticipation evident in her demeanor as she swiftly answered. Her eyes narrowed, cutting straight to the point. “Alright. When and where?” The voice on the other end assured there was no rush, promising to contact her again once a decision had been made. With that, the connection was abruptly severed.

Nelly stared at the phone in her hand, contemplating her next move. After a moment’s thought, she used her own phone to trace the origin of the call.

After a series of intricate operations, she traced the call back to the heart of Moonwalk Pack’s territory. However, as she focused on tracking the call, Nelly suddenly sensed that her own phone was being monitored by others. Realization hit her, freezing her in place. Swiftly, she ceased her tracking and erased any traces of her activities.

The phone call had only been a test, a means to gauge her. They suspected her.

Thoughts of their inquiries lingered in Nelly’s mind. It seemed her credibility was being questioned.

Yet, none of that mattered to her. The truth behind her father’s demise was all that truly concerned her, regardless of the price she might have to pay.

Lost in her own musings, Nelly was brought back to reality by the approach of Fabian. With a wide grin, he greeted her. “Good morning, Ms. Jackson!”

Snapping out of her thoughts, Nelly regarded Fabian. “Morning.” Her brows furrowed upon seeing his arm in a sling. “What happened to your arm?”

Fabian seemed taken aback. “Haven’t you heard, Ms. Jackson?” Nelly inquired further.

“About what?”

“Didn’t Alpha Morris tell you?” Fabian was dumbfounded. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Nelly knitted her brows, clearly clueless about what Fabian referred to. Even Fabian himself became bewildered. “That shouldn’t be. Didn’t Alpha Morris inquire for information on your behalf?”

The pieces began to fit together in Nelly’s mind. Alpha Kilian must have been orchestrating something behind her back.

“What happened?” Nelly questioned, her gaze locked on Fabian.

Hesitation played across Fabian’s features as he found himself torn between revealing the truth or staying silent. “Um… since Alpha Morris didn’t say anything, wouldn’t it be inappropriate for me to divulge?”

“Tell me. What difference does it make between not telling me and telling me now?” Nelly arched an eyebrow.

“Uh, there would still be certain differences… by nature,” Fabian stuttered.

Surprisingly, Nelly remained composed. Calmly, she nodded. “Alright then. I will ask Alpha Kilian directly!”

“B-But… if you do that, he will know I have disclosed something I shouldn’t have,” Fabian’s anxiety grew.

Nelly did not respond verbally. Instead, she continued to stare at him.

Fabian knew that if Nelly confronted Alpha Kilian, the difference between telling her the truth and keeping it from her would become marginal.

After a few seconds of wavering, Fabian sighed resignedly. “I-If I tell you, can you pretend to be unaware when Alpha Morris informs you?”

In response, Nelly nodded. “Sure!”

Taking a deep breath, Fabian discreetly surveyed their surroundings. Satisfied that no one was within earshot, he turned his attention back to Nelly, lowering his voice. “Haven’t you encountered several foreigners at the hotel entrance a few days ago? Worried for your safety, Alpha Morris conducted a special investigation.”

Nelly’s gaze turned serious.

“Those individuals were no ordinary citizens. Alpha Morris and I met with them and managed to gather some information. It was during that encounter that I got injured,” Fabian revealed.

Hearing Fabian’s account, Nelly furrowed her brows and stepped closer to inspect his wound.

“Gunshots?”

“It was just a graze from a stray bullet. Nothing serious!” Fabian blinked, surprised. “H-How did you know?”

It was merely a graze, so how could she have guessed from the wound alone? Nelly’s frown deepened.

Though Fabian belittled the incident, she knew the reality was much graver than his casual explanation, especially with firearms involved.

Raising her head, Nelly regarded Fabian. “And what about Alpha Kilian? Was he injured?” Fabian shook his head vigorously. “No! No! Alpha Morris wasn’t harmed!”

Relieved to hear that Alpha Kilian was unharmed, Nelly released a breath she didn’t realize she had been holding. Her gaze softened as she looked at Fabian’s arm. “Thank you, Fabian. I owe you one.”

Embarrassment flooded Fabian’s expression.

“You don’t have to thank me, Ms. Jackson. I was merely following Alpha Morris…”

“What information did you manage to gather?” Nelly abruptly changed the subject.

Caught off guard by the sudden shift, Fabian blinked in surprise.

Well, that was quick…

Nevertheless, Fabian proceeded to share what they had discovered, sensing Nelly’s anxiousness. “I was on watch, so I didn’t catch much. I believe I overheard something about them being connected to the Midnight Fang Pack. If I recall correctly, they originate from the Forbidden Forest and came to the Moonwalk Pack’s territory to transport something.”

Midnight Fang Pack?

Though the name sounded familiar, Nelly couldn’t quite place it.

Could they be connected to her father? Were they the ones behind the recent phone call?
