After the moon had risen and darkness blanketed the town, Donna ventured into the night with Nelly and Alpha Kilian, their keen eyes scanning the shadows for any signs of danger.

“Okay. Whether it is driven by mutual interests or other motives, we cannot turn away from the allure of wealth!” Sharon stated confidently, her characteristic nature shining through.

In response, Jessica let out a hearty chuckle. “Indeed! Now, how did the discussion about the contract transpire on your end?”

Sharon sighed wearily. “Don’t even mention it. I was blinded by their displays of affection. I shall enlighten you on the matter later.”

“Very well. Return home safely.” Jessica bid her farewell before ending the call.

Sharon pondered for a moment before picking up her phone and sending Donna a message via WhatsApp.

The message read: From now on, do not address me as Ms. Sharon. Summon the courage to call me Sharon instead!

Donna replied with a perplexed emoticon.

Donna cast a sidelong glance at Nelly, who remained engrossed in her phone without uttering a word. After a thoughtful moment, she ventured, “But, are you not worried that Nelly may misconstrue your intentions?”

“Misconstrue?” Alpha Kilian raised an eyebrow in amusement.

“Yes, Sharon possesses an enchanting aura. Those with discerning eyes might understand that you are doing this for my sake. However, what if the ignorant ones misinterpret your actions as an infatuation with her?” Donna whispered, her eyes darting cautiously towards Nelly.

Nelly continued scrolling through her phone, seemingly oblivious to the conversation.

Alpha Kilian sneakily glanced at Nelly, then responded with a smile, his voice dripping with charisma. “I orchestrated this in front of your mother.”

“Really?” Donna’s curiosity was piqued.

“Of course! Did you think I had grown tired of life?” Alpha Kilian retorted with a hint of playfulness.

Nelly’s fingers stilled on her phone.

Donna burst into laughter. “Is he afraid of Mommy now?”

“Besides, who could rival your mother’s allure?” Alpha Kilian bantered, his voice laced with charm.

Donna was left speechless.

Donna fell silent.

Well, she certainly put an end to the conversation.

Unexpectedly, Alpha Kilian did not seem angered by Nelly’s remark. Instead, he nodded in agreement. “Your mother is right. Therefore, do not easily trust any man apart from me. Do you understand?”

Was this a mutual show, each playing their part to please the other?

“Got it,” Donna replied, exasperated.

“Great!”

To Donna’s surprise, Nelly lifted her eyes and cast a fleeting glance at Alpha Kilian, a small smile gracing her lips. She then averted her gaze and resumed her focus on her phone.

Throughout the drive, Alpha Kilian and Donna engaged in lighthearted banter, their voices laced with amusement.

Eventually, they arrived at the entrance of the condominium.

Just as they were about to step out of the car, Alpha Kilian’s phone rang.

Seeing that it was Fabian calling, he answered.

On the other end of the line, Fabian rambled on endlessly, while Alpha Kilian listened attentively. After a lengthy conversation, he responded, “Understood. Wait for me at the office. I’ll be there in half an hour.”

Once the call ended, Donna stared at him intently. “Are you busy again, Mr. Handsome?”

Meeting her gaze, Alpha Kilian nodded. “Yes.”

“Alright then. It’s getting late anyway. Take care on your way back!” Donna cautioned thoughtfully.

Alpha Kilian reached out and affectionately ruffled her hair.

Then, his gaze shifted to Nelly, a dark intensity burning in his eyes. “Get some rest. Goodnight.”

Nelly pursed her lips, her mind grappling with unspoken words. Ultimately, she simply nodded. “Goodnight.”

Turning to Donna in the back seat, she beckoned. “Come, let’s go home.”

Only then did Donna alight from the car, walking alongside Nelly.

“Goodbye, Mr. Handsome.” Donna waved reluctantly, her eyes lingering on Alpha Kilian.

“Goodbye.” Alpha Kilian returned her wave with a charming smile before his gaze settled once again on Nelly.

Nelly, however, maintained her focus on Donna, seemingly unaware of his scrutiny. “Let’s go!”

And so, Donna took Nelly’s hand, and together they walked away.

Observing their departing figures, Alpha Kilian hesitated for a moment. But in the end, he started the engine and drove away into the night.
