Nelly, her wounds still fresh and aching, had just finished tending to herself when she caught sight of people bustling around the house. Confusion clouded her mind as she tried to make sense of the situation, but her thoughts were quickly interrupted by the arrival of Alpha Wade and Alpha King Larry, locked in a heated argument.
“Alpha King Larry? What brings you here?” Nelly questioned, intrigued by his unexpected presence.
The argument ceased momentarily as Alpha King Larry’s eyes lit up upon seeing Nelly. A wide smile spread across his face as he approached her. “I’m here to see you and the three kiddos. Nelly, why have you left the hospital before making a full recovery?” he asked, genuine concern etched on his features.
“I grew tired of being cooped up in that hospital, and my wounds weren’t too serious. Resting at home is just as good,” Nelly replied, a smile gracing her lips.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“I understand, but your health should always come first. I’ve brought you some highly nutritious supplements. Make sure to take care of yourself,” Alpha King Larry urged.
Nelly’s gratitude resonated in her response, tinged with a hint of guilt. “Thank you, Alpha King Larry, but you didn’t have to spend so much on me,” she expressed, her gaze falling upon the pile of items he had brought with him.
Alpha Wade couldn’t resist interjecting, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Don’t bother thanking him. The man’s pockets are bottomless, and he loves to indulge.”
Alpha King Larry retorted, his patience wearing thin. “That’s not how one should give a compliment,” he retorted pointedly.
“If you don’t like it, then leave!” Alpha Wade shot back, fueling further irritation in Alpha King Larry.
Caught in the crossfire, Nelly quickly diffused the tension by suggesting that Alpha King Larry join them for dinner. The mere invitation extinguished Alpha King Larry’s anger in an instant. “What a kind offer, Nelly. I would be honored to accept,” he replied, his voice filled with sincerity.
Alpha Wade, however, was less than thrilled. “Have dinner at your own house, Alpha King Larry. I have no intention of serving you,” he grumbled, his distaste clear.
Alpha King Larry, undeterred, insisted that he was more than capable of lending a hand in the kitchen. Alpha Wade scoffed at the notion, warning that he would likely set the kitchen on fire if he attempted to help. Frustrated, Alpha King Larry begrudgingly backed down, instead focusing his attention on finding his great-grandchildren.
As he left the room, Nelly looked up at his retreating figure, a faint smile on her face, before returning to her task of preparing dinner. The atmosphere during the meal was lively, with Alpha Wade and Alpha King Larry continuing their banter throughout. Despite their constant jibes, the dinner resembled a boisterous jamboree, bringing a sense of joy and warmth to Nelly’s home.
Alpha King Larry couldn’t help but feel a wistful longing while observing the familial bonds displayed before him. This, he realized, was far better than eating alone at his own lavish home. And so, a decision began to form in his mind – he would make it a habit to stop by this residence every now and then, not only to fill his belly but also to be in the presence of his beloved great-grandchildren. Alpha Wade’s endless yapping would be a small price to pay for the solace and joy they brought him.
As the night wore on, Alpha King Larry bid his farewells with a heavy heart. Nelly and the triplets saw him off, but just as the children were about to retreat into the house, Nelly called out, stopping them in their tracks.
“The three of you, come to my room,” she demanded.
The triplets exchanged glances, their expressions filled with uncertainty, before turning to Alpha Wade for guidance. “Ehem! I’m going to bed,” he mumbled, avoiding the discussion and escaping to his own room.
Resigned, the triplets followed Nelly back to her bedroom, their hearts pounding with anticipation. Donna, the most timid of the three, finally voiced her concerns. “Nelly, did we do something wrong?” she questioned, her voice laced with trepidation.
Nelly raised an eyebrow as she surveyed the trio. She carefully considered her words, knowing the weight they held for her children. “You tell me,” she replied, her gaze unwavering.
Donna glanced at her brothers, Tony and Ben, before choosing silence to avoid saying the wrong thing.
Nelly, observing their hesitant expressions, paused for a moment before speaking. “It’s been a roller coaster, and you three must have been incredibly worried,” she began, her tone filled with understanding.
A flicker of hope sparked in the eyes of the triplets. Perhaps, they thought, this conversation wouldn’t end in scolding.
“You already know some things, but I still want to say them face to face,” Nelly continued, her gaze locked on her children.
The triplets listened attentively, their eyes fixed on her every word.
“Alpha Kilian… Alpha Kilian is your father, and Alpha Morris is your great-grandfather. I believe you already knew that,” she revealed, her voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability.
The three children exchanged glances, nodding in confirmation.
“Our marriage wasn’t a happy one, and when we divorced, Alpha Kilian didn’t know about you three. I was the one who selfishly took you away, so we shouldn’t blame him,” Nelly confessed, holding nothing back.
The triplets absorbed her words, their minds racing with this newfound information. This was the first time Nelly had spoken about their origins.
“What I want you to understand is that, regardless of what happens between me and Alpha Kilian, our love for you will always be true. He was overjoyed when he found out about you three, and I believe he will be a good father,” Nelly assured them, her voice filled with unwavering devotion.
“Nelly…” Tony spoke up, his voice filled with understanding.
“In other words, I won’t stand in the way if you want to call him ‘Dad’ or grow close to him. I respect your choices and will accept them. You are free to choose to be with him or me,” Nelly explained, her heart open and vulnerable.
But Tony took a step forward, his expression determined. “Nelly, I only want you. I’m not going anywhere,” he declared, his voice filled with unwavering loyalty.
“Daddy may be rich, but being with you, Nelly, is worth more than anything. I want to stay by your side,” Ben chimed in, his eyes filled with sincerity.
Donna, torn between her affection for her father and Nelly, found solace in Nelly’s embrace. “Nelly, I adore Daddy, but I’ve never considered leaving you. You’re the one I love the most. I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying with you,” she affirmed, burying her face in Nelly’s shoulder.
Nelly’s heart swelled with pride and love as she witnessed the unwavering devotion of her triplets. They were her strength, her reason for carrying on. She realized that, rather than imposing restrictions or boundaries upon them, she needed to be their unwavering support, a pillar of strength they could lean on when needed.
With a renewed sense of purpose, Nelly picked up her phone and sent a message: “I’ll come over tomorrow.”
