Chapter 354
Chapter 354
In the end, Lillian insisted on taking away both of the cards.
As they were separating from each other, with puffy red eyes, Hendric put his arms around Coralie's
neck. "Mom, I won't cry, but can you be the first to pick me up?"
"Sure, I'll definitely do it!" Coralie promised.
She nodded and held back her tears as she made the promise to Hendric.
Lillian, on the other hand, urged impatiently, "Why are you still hanging around here? You're sending
him to a kindergarten and will meet him two weeks later. Don't be so dramatic."
There weren't any feelings between her and Hendric, so she didn't think it was a big deal.
Jones, who has been with them the entire time, looked sympathetically at Coralie, then took Hendric
from her arms and said, "Don't worry, Coralie, we will take good care of him for you."
"Okay, I appreciate it."
Coralie then bowed as a sign of gratitude.
On the way back home, Coralie couldn't help but wipe her tears away when she thought about being
two weeks apart from Hendric. Lillian sat next to her and became more irritated when she saw her like
this. "Kids need to learn from a young age, what is the point of you following Hendric around all the
time?" She asked in disdain.
"You have no feelings for Hendric, so naturally you would say such things. But if you were to spend
time with him every day, you wouldn't say so."
Coralie could not help but defend herself.
"If it wasn't for Lillian, Hendric wouldn't have needed to go to such a kindergarten at all!" Coralie
thought to herself.
"When I was taking care of my own children, it was the same. What's so different about it for you?"
Lilian's phone rang as she spoke. As soon as she saw the caller ID on the screen, she smiled. "Mrs.
Andrews, I will be there in a short moment. Alas, it is so troublesome to send a child to school. Wait for
me."
Coralie knew that Lillian was going to play tabletop games with her friends again.
Lillian then abandoned Coralie halfway through the journey, dropping her off by the roadside before
going to her friend's place.
Coralie got out of the car and walked home.
Hera knew that Coralie had brought Hendric to stay at a different place yesterday, but when she saw
that Carolie had not brought Hendric back today, she asked frantically, "Has Hendric already been sent
to the kindergarten?"
"No..."
Coralie shook her head and told Hera about Lillian insisting on sending Hendric to the boarding school.
After listening, Hera was also sad. "Oh no, does that mean we won't be able to see him for two
weeks?"
"That's right." Coralie nodded.
"Gosh, how is it possible for such a young child to live alone? Can the teachers really take care of them
well?" Hera shook her head.
Coralie thought of the same thing. However, she couldn't say anything about it, so she just comforted
Hera. "I've seen the school for myself, and it's not bad. One teacher is in charge of three to four kids,
so it should be fine."
"Really? Then that's fine. But one teacher looking after three or four children is quite difficult, don't you
think so? I don't think she'll be able to cover every child with a quilt in time at night. Hendric is a little bit
of a kicker in his sleep..." Hera trailed off.
"Mom, please don't worry. That's the best school in A City. They definitely won't mistreat Hendric."
Coralie interrupted Hera's words before she could finish.
If Hera went on any further, Coralie would overthink as well.
......
That very night, Coralie received a video call from Skylar.
Skylar noticed that Coralie was feeling a little blue so he asked her, "What's the matter? Did Hendric
make you angry?"
"No, he has been very obedient and has already fallen asleep."
Coralie was afraid that Skylar would discover that Hendric wasn't around, so she had intentionally
accepted his video call while she was in the living room.
If Skylar found out that Lillian had forcibly sent Hendric to the boarding school, he would definitely
worry about it.
By then, Lillian would hate her even more if she knew that it was Coralie who had disclosed it to Skylar.
Coralie felt that no matter what, she could not let her relationship with Lillian get any worse.
Otherwise, if she were to end up together with Skylar, Lillian would never agree to the union and would
make a huge deal out of it.
"I've asked the doctor today. It will take no more than two months. If things go well, I will be able to
return home in about a month."
Ever since that incident, Skylar has kept Coralie updated on his situation and whereabouts regularly.
"Really? That's great to hear. I'll wait for your return."
Coralie was really ecstatic to hear the news.
However, due to Hendric's matters weighing on her heart, Coralie's smile was not sincere and
appeared different. Skylar could immediately see past her facade and asked, "Is there really nothing
wrong?" Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
"There really isn't anything wrong. What issue could there possibly be? I don't even need to work now.
I'm staying at home every day," she replied.
She then flashed a beautiful smile at Skylar.
"Well, think about where you want to go. When I'm back home and ready to take you there, you'd better
be ready with a bucket list. We'll tick off each item on the list as we go," he said.
"Then, I'll get started now," Coralie said and excitedly ran to grab a pen and paper while she held onto
her phone. She leaned over the tea table and started, "I want to go to the Maldives, Tahiti, Great
Barrier Reef, and..."
Coralie was so happy that she forgot that she had to hide the fact that Hendric was away.
Skylar had noticed that when Coralie had entered the bedroom, the bed was well-made, and the
blanket was perfectly in place. Hendric was also nowhere to be seen.
However, he did not say anything. He just listened to Coralie as she listed the places that she wanted
to go, and then quietly complained, "All the islands? Are you planning to become a mermaid?"
"You found out," Coralie said with a smile, "My dream is to face the sea while the flowers are in full
bloom in spring. So last time when you took me to E country, I really liked that house very much."
"Well, I'll bring you there again after I get back."
Skylar promised Coralie.
"Alright." She nodded.
The call lasted for another half an hour before Skylar hung up.
He hung up the phone and paced around the room for a while. After the pain in his leg subsided, he
then called Jayson.
By the time Skylar called Jayson, it was already 12 o'clock at midnight in A City.
Jayson was a little shocked to see Skylar's call, and thought to himself that maybe Skylar had already
known about what had happened over the past two days.
Immediately after the call was connected. Skylar said, "Go ahead, what happened?"
"Your mother said that Hendric is the grandson of the Holland family and insisted on sending him to the
best private boarding school."
Although Jayson didn't know how much Skylar knew, he didn't dare tell him about Lillian's kidnapping of
the child. He just avoided the important parts and told him the results.
Even though Jayson didn't say it, as Lillian's son, Skylar knew his mother too well. He then asked
decisively, "Did my mother snatch Hendric away from Coralie?"
"Yes, she did," Jayson replied.
Jayson didn't know if Skylar had guessed it on his own or if Coralie had told him, but since he had
asked Jayson, he didn't dare hide the truth.
"Which school is that?" Skylar pressed on.
"It's the famous Royal Private School in A City. They have everything, from kindergarten to high school.
You can only pick up your child every two weeks if they are in kindergarten. As for after primary level,
the children can stay there for a semester but would not be able to be picked up even during the
holidays," Jayson answered.
When Lillian said that she was going to send Hendric to Royal Private School, Jayson had checked up
on every aspect of the school responsibly.
This school was indeed the best in A City. Although the college's enrolment rate was low, the school
could help to prepare documents that would enable the application to enter high schools located
overseas.
"Is this a school? This is clearly a refuge for those parents who could not be bothered about their
children. How can Hendric go to this kindergarten!" Skylar exclaimed.
He was enraged after hearing about everything that had happened.
