Chapter 24 Cordelia’s Husband
When Cordelia heard Elijah’s whisper, she looked back and glanced at Eva.
She took Elijah’s arm naturally.
When Cordelia’s hot body voluntarily leaned forward, Elijah, who was already reeking of alcohol,
became excited instantly.
Cordelia sensed Elijah’s change. She felt like playing with him, so she kept doing stuff to make him
even more excited.
They didn’t separate from each other until Elijah was sent into the front passenger seat.
Ben carried Eva out of the wheelchair, put her in the car, put the wheelchair away, and got in.
Cordelia was an excellent driver. Soon, she drove the car to Eva’s apartment.
Seeing Eva was about to act like a baby again, Cordelia took the lead and said, “Ben, please send
Miss Lewis up. Thank you.”
Eva didn’t want Ben. She bit her lip and looked at Elijah expectantly.
However, Elijah closed his eyes and pretended to rest. He didn’t even turn his head.
“Let’s go,” Ben urged.
After they entered the building, Elijah slowly opened his eyes and looked sideways at Cordelia. “Are
you happy now?”
Cordelia pursed her lips and said nothing.
“Eva is like a little sister to me,” Elijah said again.
Cordelia sneered in her heart, “You want to witness her growth and forge her to be the girl you like.
Good for you!”
So, she said coldly, “I hope so.”
Seeing her still skeptical, Elijah turned cold.
“You are no better than me? Don’t just blame me.”
Cordelia was stunned.
This man really knew how to make unfounded countercharges!
She was about to argue with him when Ben came back.
“Did Eva make any trouble?” Elijah asked lightly.
“She cried.” Ben remained expressionless.
Cordelia saw Elijah frown as if he felt sorry for Eva
She guessed that he must regret not sending Eva up there himself.
He disappointed his little lover just to prove his innocence.
Cordelia was surprised to know about Adam’s sudden visit to Beilve City.
She invited him to dinner on the night of his arrival. It was on Cordelia, the host, of course.
The two had a great time..
Adam would always mention another man unconsciously. From his tone, Cordelia could tell that he
admired this mysterious man, the leading figure of the “four influential young men in Grant City.”
“Cordelia, he spoke of you a lot lately and hoped you could go to Grant City sometime.”
Cordelia smiled and said, “I will when I’m free.”
After dinner, Cordelia went to pay the bill, but someone else had already paid.
Seeing Elijah’s signature, Cordelia frowned deeply.
“Excuse me, Adam. I’ve got to see someone here. Please wait for me.”
Adam nodded and smiled patiently.
Cordelia rushed to the box to look for Elijah, and sure enough, she found Elijah’s men.
He had booked a box for 16 people but sat on the main seat by

he door coldly and gave a cool smile
“You were having dinner with Adam, weren’t you?”
Adam was Cordelia’s best friend, and Elijah knew that. Cordelia nodded.
Elijah’s eyes gradually dimmed. He was about to get mad.
Cordelia did a great job protecting Adam’s privacy. Elijah had been investigating Adam for a long time
but didn’t find anything about him. Cordelia and Adam were good friends, and she sought help from
him when she was drunk.
Ignoring Elijah’s sudden silence, Cordelia took out her phone, and soon, Elijah’s phone received a
message.
“I just transferred the money for the dinner to you. Thank you for paying the bill for me.” But I didn’t
need your help.
Cordelia didn’t say the second half of the sentence, which would make her seem ignorant.
Seeing the notice message on his phone, Elijah was on the verge of getting angry.
Cordelia turned to leave, but Elijah raised his voice and said,
“Stop!”
