Chapter 516
After Yvette returned to the manor, she received news that Yara had gotten bail to receive treatment outside.
Matthew called her and said, "Yvvy, did you receive the text I sent you? Yara was diagnosed with brain cancer, and she was bailed to receive treatment." "Yeah, I saw it."
She stood outside, letting the cold wind blow on her face as she spoke on the phone. "Yara's not sick at all, Matthew. This is just one of her tricks to avoid punishment."
"That's my guess as well. After all, it's too coincidental for her to get brain cancer within a month of getting locked up. How's that even possible?"NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
"Do you know how we can get her back in jail?"
Yvette didn't want Viola's death to be in vain. Although Yara hadn't really killed Viola, she had pushed the latter's buttons over and over again. Otherwise, Viola wouldn't have done what she'd decided to do. "Only if we can prove that the doctor faked the diagnosis." Matthew sighed again. "But why would they admit to it when they were the ones who did it?"
"Then, can we get another doctor to diagnose her again?" Yvette asked.
"We could've done that, but Yara wouldn't cooperate at all."
Yvette felt as if there was a huge boulder suffocating her as she wondered if she had to let Yara go that easily.
"Wait." Matthew suddenly thought of something. "Yvvy, can you get Mr. Lane to help us? He's friends with Tristan, isn't he? If Tristan steps in, I'm sure no one else would dare to fake the diagnosis again." The Shaw family had control over most of the medical resources in Tirion, and even the smallest hospitals had to rely on them. Yvette stayed silent for a moment before saying, "Let me think about it." She didn't want to owe Tristan a favor. She continued to stand outside after ending the call and didn't enter the manor for a long time.
Suddenly, she heard a loud thud coming from upstairs, pulling her back to her senses. Then, she immediately rushed upstairs. It had come from the study. When Yvette entered the room, she saw that Xavier had fallen to the ground.
She hurriedly helped him up. "Are you alright?"
When Xavier felt her hand on his arm, he pulled it away. "I'm fine."
When she noticed what he'd done, she didn't think too much of it. "What happened? Why did you fall when you've been home for so long?"
After he'd familiarized himself with the house, he'd only knock some things over and seldom fell down. "I forgot there was a chair here," he answered.
"Be careful next time. Remember to touch around first before you walk," she said.
"Sure." After Xavier said that, he walked forward and bumped into a table again.
His body leaned forward, and Yvette hurriedly supported him without any hesitation. Since he was six-foot-two-inches tall, there was no way she could hold his weight when she reached her hands out.
Then, with another loud thud, they
both fell to the ground. Xavier

as he fell on her body. Then, he gulped as he said, "Didn't you say you wanted to stay away from me?"
Yvette instantly blushed silently and wanted to get up. However, he held her in his embrace. "Now that we're touching, do you hate me?"
He held her head gently with his hand and pressed her face against his chest.
"Yvvy..." He said with a soft voice, "Shall we check it now?"
Yvette was stunned. "Check what?"
He lowered his head to kiss her. "Let's check if you really hate me."

She knew he'd dated Daphne in the past when they'd first gotten
married. Since she was only starting to mind it, it was clear that she didn't like him anymore. So, Xavier wanted
to see if he really couldn't touch her
