Chapter 227
Chapter 227
The anxious voice of a mother echoed in the air.
“Taylor, Taylor! Hurry, hurry up and get the doctor from the Milburn family!”
After the doctor finished his examination, he gave Taylor a sedative, and he finally fell asleep peacefully.
Teresa immediately pulled the doctor aside and whispered, “Has my son contacted you recently?”
The doctor shook his head as he tidied up his medical kit. “No! I don’t usually stay at the Atwood family’s residence, and I don’t remember have changed contact information with him. How could he find me?”
But why would my son suddenly bring up the car accident from years ago and his amnesia?”
The doctor was taken aback, “Really? Did he say who told him?”
“Well, he didn’t.”

“Besides the few who were involved in the operation, no one else would know!” After pondering for a moment, the doctor said, “Maybe it’s just your son guessing? Maybe he brought it up to test you?”
Teresa sighed, “I wish that were the case! But… I’m just worried something will go wrong! If Taylor learns the truth, he’ll hate me!”
“But you’re doing this for his own good, aren’t you?” The doctor chuckled, trying to reassure her. “You’re just feeling guilty! If he asks you anything, you need to act normal. If he senses something is
off, and goes abroad to investigate, or even spends a lot of money to dig up information… I can only guarantee that I won’t tell anyone, no matter how much money they offer. As lor the others, I have no control over them!”
“But they’re all your people from the Milburn family, can’t you instruct them?”
The doctor waved his hand and sat down, “You don’t understand! Our relationships within the Milburn family had already deteriorated while the old man was alive. After his death, things only got worse. We don’t stay in touch anymore, how could I speak for you?”
“But I will contact those few who knew the truth back then! And then I’ll give you their contact information so you can call them.”
Teresa frowned, clearly displeased. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
“So I paid them hush money back then, and now they want to squeeze more out of me?”
“Whoa, Mrs. Teresa! You’re wronging me with that! Have I asked you for money? I just said I can’t vouch for them, not that I’ll tell your son! Like I said earlier, I absolutely won’t say a word.”
Teresa waved her hand irritably, “Fine, fine! I can handle this myself. You just need to keep your mouth shut, and I don’t need you to interfere!*
“Okay.” The doctor picked up his medical kit, “Then I’ll be going. If you need anything, just let me know,”
“Okay” Teresa stood up to see him out, then quickly returned to the room.
Taylor was still sleeping, as quiet as a baby. Since he was a child, Taylor had always been a good boy, rarely going against his parents’ wishes. The only time was because of Clara.
Taylor’s mother held his hand tightly and sighed.
“Son, you will eventually understand your mother’s hardships. You’re my treasure, I would never do anything to hurt you. Everything I’ve done is to make your life better, to not let unnecessary people drag you down. It’s common knowledge that Clara’s father is a compulsive gambler. If you marry her, our family will be dragged into it too!”
