Trapped with a Lawyer

Chapter 195 She Calls the Shots

Chapter 195 She Calls the Shots

Samuel nodded and opened the door of the ward.

After speaking to Viola, he walked to the deanery with Chuck. A few minutes later, Chuck took Samuel

to his lab.

Two hours later, Samuel left the lab. Thinking of the dead bodies that were being used for

experimentation in the lab, he entered the elevator, holding back vomit.

Was Chuck really obsessively clean? But why was he okay with dealing with disgusting bodies?

In the luxury ward on the eighth floor.

Melody sat by the bed, holding Ella's hand tightly.

Viola stood up from the sofa when she saw Samuel walking back in, "Sam, the police called to tell us

Emma is in the No. 2 Hospital and they are ready to arrest her."

Hearing the name, Samuel looked rather malicious, "No rush. She''ll have time to recover. I'll send

someone to keep an eye on her."

No rush?

He wasn't in a rush, but Melody, Viola and Ella, who was still half asleep, were.

"Sam, you're really letting me down." Melody stared at him with a sad expression on her face. 'Look

what Emma has done! Why couldn't he forget about her?' She shook her head in disappointment.

Noticing the expression on her face, Samuel knew she had misunderstood him. When he was about to

explain, Ella spoke weakly, with her eyes closed, "Samuel, you bastard. We're finished."

Even now, he was protecting Emma.

Her heart broke into pieces. Even though she had almost died and was in severe pain because of

Emma, Samuel was still defending her.

She would never forgive Samuel for this.

Samuel sighed, and kissed her forehead and cheeks. Despite what she said, he was happy when he

heard her voice.

A couple of minutes later, Viola left with Melody and closed the door, leaving them alone in the ward.

Ella opened her eyes and saw that his face was quite close. She closed her eyes again.

She moved her right arm inadvertently. It ached all over from the cuts.

The pain was killing her. Damn Emma! Ella cursed, determined to make sure that she would pay for

what she had done to her.

The way she cringed as she lifted her arm concocted her face into a funny expression. But Samuel

didn't laugh at all, because he felt so sorry for her.

"Honey, open your eyes." He wanted to explain what he meant since they had misunderstood him.

Ella didn't dare to move, in case she would feel pain again. She closed her eyes and refused to say

anything.

It was quiet in the ward. Samuel sat by the bed and held her other arm, "Be good, honey. Does it still

hurt?" Staring at the bandages around her waist lovingly, he wanted to touch her, but stopped in case it

would cause her pain. At last, he kissed her.

He was determined to revenge on her behalf. Emma was going to pay for what she had done.

"Samuel, get out." Ella opened her eyes and glared at him. Her face was pale.

""I didn't mean what..."

"I don't want to hear what you have to say." Ella sneered. Never would she believe him again.

Samuel sighed. He definitely had bad timing. She woke up and heard what she wasn't meant to have

heard. She didn't want to believe him when he tried to explain.

"I'll explain it to you if you want and I'll show you what I'll do if you don't want a verbal explanation. But

first, do not get angry!" She was restoring her health. Anger was no good to her in this state.

"I'm not listening!" She was too weak to talk back.

"Okay. Okay. I'm not saying anything if you don't want to listen."

Samuel was obedient. The cards were on her side of the table. She was calling the shots.

She asked weakly, "Samuel, are you still thinking of ways to lead me on? You don't need to. You must

be so proud of yourself."

Samuel was speechless. He chuckled silently. Why did woman assume the wrong things?

He tucked loose strands of her hair behind her ears, "Honey, please get better soon." Samuel had

experienced bitterness and anguish when he saw Ella covered in blood.

He felt as if his heart was being ripped out of his chest. He didn't know why, but he trembled.

It was the first time that he had panicked and was perplexed by it. He hadn't been like that even when

he was framed and put in jail for half a month at a young age.

"But why must I get better? So that you can figure out that you love someone else? Damn you." Her

voice faded away and she eventually fell asleep at last.

Knowing her physical condition, Samuel tucked her in quietly and kissed her on her forehead.

'Ella. Please get better soon, not to see how much I love someone else. But to let them see how much I Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

love you.' His sentiments are left unsaid, As he left the ward. He saw Melody and Viola chatting on a

bench. Melody stood up, "How is Ella?"

""Grandma, she's asleep again. You may go see her now." He took out his cigarette case and placed

one between his lips.

Melody nodded and entered the ward with Viola.

Just then, his phone rang. He walked to the end of the corridor and lit the cigarette, "If there isn't any

new information, you don't need to call me."

The person who had framed Ella had played their cards well. Samuel failed to find any clues even after

an in-depth investigation.

It was the same with Catherine. He had asked for her call log, but still failed to find anything suspicious.

"I have new information, Mr. Shao. Catherine met a Japanese man named Abbot Fuller in secret.

Abbot Fuller is known in the underground world as Camorra. Through days of investigation, I found

criminal records in connection to him."

"What is he known for?"

"Murder, smuggling and human trafficking."

Samuel looked out of the window and pondered awhile, "Anything else?"

"Yes, Miss Amber had contacted Catherine earilier, and soon after, Miss Bo got hurt."

Samuel drew on his cigarette. 'Catherine.' He thought it over carefully.

Damn! How could he have been so stupid?

He had been duped by a woman.

He suddenly remembered that Ella once told her that either Catherine or Emma was going to hurt her.

But back then, he didn't believe her because of her attitude and also the fact that she lacked evidence.

Right now, Samuel had so many mixed emotions.

So it was always Emma and Catherine who had wanted to hurt Ella. And they both wanted him!

He stubbed out the cigarette and asked indifferently, "How is Amber now?"

"She's getting better and might wake up at any time. We're keeping an eye on her!"

"Okay. Get more guards if you need. And let me know as soon as she wakes up."
