Chapter 288 Only If the Girl was Lulu
Chapter 288 Only If the Girl was Lulu
The thought of her unborn child subsided Scott's anger. He stared at her unpleasantly and said, "How
do you know I have a girlfriend? You liar."
Angela had misunderstood that Scott had a girlfriend, and gossiped about that with Lulu. When Scott
pestered Lulu to tell him the truth, she had no choice but to tell him that Angela had seen him with a girl
and assumed it was his girlfriend.
"What? I have no idea what you're talking about." Angela answered. She racked her head trying to
figure out what he was talking about and then managed to track back to one specific day she thought
would be relevant. Then she said, "One day, I saw a girl getting into a car with you. Wasn't she your
girlfriend?"
"A girl in my car?" Scott thought about it for a while and then realized who Angela was talking about.
"Of course not! That's one of my friends. She twisted her ankle, so I took her to hospital. That's it." He
answered.
"Oh! Now I see!" Angela seemed to have realized her mistake.
"What do you see?"
"The point is that you don't have a girlfriend. Wait! Why are you telling me this? Who cares about that
stuff? I am married now. You don't have a chance with me at all." She stepped back and pretended to
be a victim.
... Her words made Scott angry, but he couldn't do anything to her.
He almost raised his finger at Angela to try and blame her, but failed.
His awkward behaviour amused her, and she said, "I am just kidding!" Scott was never her type.
They never shared any chemistry between them.
Scott patted her on the head and said, "Do you know I have been single for another several months
now because of what you had said."
"What did I say?" Angela was so confused that she couldn't figure out what he was trying to say. Why Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
would what she had said in the past affect his relationship with other girls?
Her confusion about the entire matter had indicated to her innocence.
She was expecting a baby, so she couldn't be scolded.
Fine. He tried to persuade himself to be more tolerant and understanding of a pregnant woman.
"All right! Take good care of yourself. I am going to go find a girlfriend!" Having had the confusion
settled, Scott had found the solution immediately.
As he turned around and began to walk away, Angela suddenly called out, "Hey little brother!"
"Call me big brother!" He turned around and pretended to be angry.
Angela disregarded his mischief, approached him and said, "Are you still single?"
"Mm-hmm!" Thanks to her, he was still single.
"I find that hard to believe!" She circled Scott and studied him carefully. He is tall and handsome.
Angela couldn't really understand why he would have a hard time getting a girlfriend. "Do you have any
hidden diseases?"
"Snap!" Scott slapped Angela's hand.
Thankfully it wasn't too hard or she might suffered more pain. She looked at Scott angrily and said, "I
was just kidding. Why did you take it so seriously?"
He tilted his head towards her and said, "Angela, I am now openly declaring that I, Scott, have no
girlfriend! No hidden diseases either! Okay?"
It would have been easy to misjudge Scott's slap on Angela's hand for a caress, from any onlooker's
point of view, standing behind Scott.
Angela nodded repeatedly, "OK, how about I hook you up with a friend of mine?"
"Who? I'll only consider it if you hook me up with your friend Lulu."
Her original intention was to hook him up with Lulu, but when she saw Arvin walking towards them, she
changed her answer immediately, "Ah-Ha! Me! I am getting a divorce. So if you marry me, you will also
be a father to a child. You know, I am good at cooking too."
Scott wasn't too thrilled to hear that. He touched her forehead to check whether something was wrong
with her, "Do you have a fever? Has the fever affected your ability to think straight?"
"The fever must be affecting your thinking right now. Are you blind? The perfect girl for you is standing
right in front you, " she said.
Scott shook his head like a rattle (children's toy), "I know you are perfect, but you are not my type. My
heart belongs to someone else. Angela, you don't have any place in my heart!"
Although he didn't quite understand what had happened to her, he just followed his instincts and
refused her.
'Did she really fall in love with Arvin's brother?' he thought to himself.
That is impossible.
Angela pretended to be hurt by Scott. Her expression made Scott laugh aloud, "Angela! If Arvin finds
out you want to cheat on him, you are doomed. Hahaha!"
"You are wrong, '' said a faint voice from behind Scott. He turned around, and realized that it was Arvin.
"Well...hello, Arvin..." Scott immediately greeted him and stepped back.
Arvin was as cold as Daniel, and so Scott had better stay away from him to avoid any future
complications.
"Well, my wife is pregnant. Her whimsical thoughts are caused by the rapid rise in her hormone levels. I
am not angry and I hope you don't think much about it." Arvin explained as he put his arms around
Angela.
"I see." Scout took the hint, "Arvin, I have to leave now. I have to take care of something. You guys
should carry on."
Angela struggled to get away from Arvin, "You are whimsical!"
Arvin was not angry. He whispered to her, "Well, I'm whimsical!"
His wife shared an intimate friendship with her male friends like Fabian and Scott. Some of her male
friends even shunned him. Thus, he needed to be vigilant all the time.
At last, Angela had returned to her home.
Arvin had to go back to the hospital for a meeting in the afternoon, so he let her go with Chuck and
Daisy, as he intended to catch up with them later.
At the Zhen Residence.
A pale woman, dressed in a black casual dress, carrying a knapsack on her shoulder, rang the door
bell of Zhen's residence.
The maid opened the door, and when she saw who it was, her expression changed. She greeted the
guest with a strange tone, "Miss Yin."
"Well. Is Nita at home?"
"She..." The maid hesitated, "Please wait a moment."
"Okay." She tried to support herself against the wall.
She was getting weaker by the day, and she knew she didn't have much time left, so she slipped out of
the hospital to take care of some unfinished business.
Finn heard that Rosa was on the door so she personally came to open the door.
And sure enough, it was Rosa who was standing outside the door. Finn asked, "Why did you come
here?"
Rosa tried to feign a smile, "Auntie, I don't know how long I've got left so I just wanted to visit all my
friends. After all, Nita and I, we were once good friends."
Finn sighed, "Rosa, I am sorry that my daughter had caused you so much pain. From now on, I will
definitely keep an eye on her." Finn only hope that Arvin would forgive her daughter.
"All right, auntie, I just want to see her one last time."
Her voice was gentle, and Finn watched her sympathetically as sweat began to trickle down her
forehead. Finn couldn't help but feel pity for Rosa.
She made way to let her in and led her to Nita's bedroom.
They went upstairs and into Nita's room, where a sickly, emaciated figure was lying in bed.
