Ethan Carter frowned slightly as he stared at Emma Johnson with complicated eyes, as if waiting patiently for her response.

Emma lips curled into a cool smile, "Of course not. Grandpa's birthday is coming up soon, and he just called to invite me to his birthday dinner. That's why I'm here today, to pick out a gift." Her tone was calm. Ethan was relieved to hear her answer.

Olivia is furious with her, but she doesn't dare show it to Ethan.

"Ethan, how come Emma, your ex-wife, gets to go to Grandpa's birthday party, but I, your real girlfriend, don't? Why don't you take me with you, okay?" She pursed her lips gently and looked at Ethan with big watery eyes full of expectation.

Since Mr. Carter didn't invite her to the birthday party, she could only ask Ethan to take her along, and use this opportunity to show off her status in front of everyone.
