The Untouchable Ex-Wife

Chapter 2134

Chapter 2134

"No!"

Renee's heart skipped a beat. She pounced on the boy without hesitation.

The laws at The Triangle were imperfect, with various forces trying to grab power from each other. Many places were full of soldiers and armed civilians. Child soldiers were common as well.

The gun in the boy's hand was most probably authentic. When Renee saw him aim the gun at Leia, who was on the top of the tree, she couldn't take the risk.

The boy suddenly started crying.

Renee exerted herself when she pounced on the boy, pushing him to the ground roughly. Coincidentally, there was a rock there. It injured the boy's forehead, which started bleeding.

"What are you doing?! Why did you take out a gun? Do you know what'll happen if you fired that?" Renee rebuked him solemnly, ignoring his bleeding forehead. She snatched his gun.

'Thieves! Robbers! I'm going to shoot and kill you!" the boy cried profusely. His voice seemed to echo in the whole fort as he kicked Renee and tried to beat her up. He was out of control.

The pregnant lady from before led a few children and two to three guards over, surrounding Renee and Leia. They pointed at Renee and rambled in an unknown language.

One of the guards approached her, intending to subdue her without hesitation. Naturally, she refused to bow down and fought him.

The guard could fight well and was armed, with people next to him cheering him on. On the other hand, Renee was in a tight spot.

"Can't we talk it out? I don't want to fight you guys!" Renee tried to reason.

Sure, she could fight them, but this wasn't her territory. She couldn't make things worse. With that in mind, she tried to go easy on the guard and end the fight with a draw. Neither she nor the guard would suffer.

"Hey, what the hell are you guys doing? Stop bullying my friend! There are so many of you!" Leia shouted from the tree, sweating in worry.

She blamed herself for not being able to get down the tree. All she could do was scream at them.

*Just you wait! When I get down the tree, I'll teach you a lesson!"

All was chaos, but a sudden gunshot silenced everyone.

The children and guards who surrounded Renee stopped moving recklessly, and looked obediently at the people behind them.

A team of guards led by Mateo, one of Benjamin's foster sons, arrived.

"What's the fuss about? Did you forget about the rules set by the master? You guys are noisy and impudent!"

Mateo enjoyed a superior status in the fort, only second to Benjamin. Many were in awe of him and would even hold their breaths around him.

However, that pregnant lady wasn't inferior either. Crying, she ran to Mateo and kept gesturing at Renee. She must be complaining about Renee.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

Finally, she pulled the boy over and pointed at his bleeding forehead, sobbing and rambling nonstop.

"Okay, Luneth. Got it. Bring the boy to treat his wound. I won't let you suffer for nothing." Mateo nodded and patted Luneth Dingwell's shoulders, his tone soft.

Luneth, the pregnant lady, left with the boy.

Renee sighed in relief, thinking that everything was made clear.

'Mateo, it's just a misunderstanding. Please be forgiving if we were rude. My friend's still up on the tree. Can you help her get down the tree?"

Mateo wore a poker face. He glanced at Leia, who was still clinging to the tree, and gave his subordinate a look. His subordinate understood, and quickly placed a ladder against the tree trunk.
