Katrina’s POV_

You’re fucking dead, Ethan. I am going to kill you,” Silas repeated and Ethan let out what seemed to be a groan, cleaning his cars with his fingers.

“I heard you the first time, so there was no need to repeat them he said, his face pulling into an annoyed look.

I expected Silas to react, to say something to do something to him.

But Silas didn’t seem to care about him. His eyes met mine and he raked his eyes over my features, trying to figure out if I was alright.

Silas looked as if he had rushed her at the speed of light, so we had no idea how to get one.

I nodded my head at him, showing him I was fine.

“For once in your life, can you stay without making it damn hard for me to drag you back?” Silas hissed at me, surprising me with his change of mood.

“Excuse me?” I asked, blinking my eyes in shock. I wasn’t expecting that. The change in his demeanor.

“I didn’t ask you to come back for me,” I fired back, a light scoff escaping my lips.

What was this? My emotions had gone from fear to anger and it was all thanks to Silas.

“I could leave right now and have you continue your spa treatment with your ex,” his tone carried a hint of nonchalance and for a moment, I feared he Might leave me with this psychopath of a man.

He still had his gun pointed at Ethan and he made no effort to leave.

“That’s enough. I didn’t do all this to listen to your lovers squabble”

Ethan straightened, the smirk returning to his face despite the gun pointed at him.

“Well, well, Silas. Took you long enough.”

Silas didn’t respond, his eyes narrowing as he stepped closer to us. His presence was suffocating, and even though he had said what he said just now, I felt a strange sense of safety. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

“You’ve crossed a line,” Silas said, his voice dropping with veno.

“Oh, have ?” Ethan taunted, taking a step back. “Seems to me like you’re the one too late to protect your little toy.”

“I’m not his toy,” I hissed at him, anger bubbling through me.

Before Ethan could say another word, Silas moved. In a blur, he closed the distance between them, shoving the gun into Ethan’s chest and slamming him against the wall.

The force was brutal, and Ethan’s face contorted in pain, but he managed to grin. “This all for her? Didn’t think you’d care so -much about a pet

Another demeaning name.

Silas’s fist collided with Ethan’s jaw before he could finish his sentence. Blood sprayed from Ethan’s mouth, and the sound of bone cracking echoed in the room.

But Silas didn’t stop there. Not one chance. His fists came repeatedly on Ethan.

“She’s not just a pet,” Silas snarled, hitting him again.

Ethan recovered quickly, pulling a knife from his waistband and slashing toward Silas.

“Silas, watch out!” I screamed out in fear, watching as Silas jumped back immediately with my eyes wide open.

I was relieved to see that Silas had dodged on time, but the blade nicked his arm, drawing blood.

“You son of a..” Silas hissed, going after Ethan once more.

I watched in horror as the two men clashed, blood mixing with the sweat from their bodies.

Silas was fast, but Ethan fought dirty, using every trick he had to gain the upper hand.

Silas disarmed Ethan, sending the knife skittering across the floor. I almost jumped in happiness when Ethan landed a punch to Silas’s stomach, forcing him back.

“Is this all you’ve got?” Ethan sneered, spitting blood onto the floor. “No wonder she’s not afraid of you. You’re a little pussy,”

Silas’s expression darkened and for a moment, it seemed as if he wasn’t here with us.

I recognized the look on his face. It was from when he had killed that man in the basement.

He wanted to kill someone and he wouldn’t stop until he did that.

I watched with my lips wide open as he grabbed Ethan by the throat, lifting him off the ground effortlessly.

His fingers wrapped around his throat tightly, cutting off his airflow as his face turned blue.

“Silas, stop!” I cried out, my voice hoarse. I didn’t know why I had stopped Silas, but his grip around Ethan loosened slightly.

“Listen to your little toy Silas,” Ethan taunted.

Silas‘ eyes flickered to me and I pleaded with him.

Silas hesitated, his grip tightening as Ethan gasped for air.

“Why should I?” Silas growled, his voice sounding like ice.

Ethan’s eyes bulged, but he managed a weak laugh. “Because… if you kill me… you’ll lose control. And we both know you can’t afford that.”

What? Control with what? Was there something I was missing?

Silas seemed further infuriated by Ethan, and for a moment, I thought Silas would snap Ethan’s neck right there. But instead, he dropped him to the floor, where Ethan collapsed in a coughing fit.

He rubbed his neck with his hands, his eyes falling on Silas and me.

Silas turned to me, his eyes softening slightly as they met mine. “Are you hurt?“”

Am I hurt? A few seconds ago and the answer would have been a no.

But not right now.

I nodded, tears streaming down my face. “I’m fine, just… get me out of here.”

Ethan’s laugh cut through the tension. “You think this is over, Sils? You’re a fool.”

Silas didn’t even look at him as he raised his gun and fired a shot into Ethan’s leg. Ethan screamed, clutching his thigh as blood pooled around him. Silas was upset, furious.

But he still managed to hide it.

“Next time, I won’t miss your head,” Silas said coldly, before turning back to me.

It wasn’t a threat but a promise, one I knew he would happily comply.

Silas knelt, his hands surprisingly gentle as he cut through the ropes binding me. “Let’s get you out of here.”
