Chapter 83 - Take the Initiative
Chapter 83 - Take the Initiative
On Saturday morning, after several arduous days of attempting to get the Brown Company back on
track, Arthur and Alicia were traveling to attend a training session to refine some of the additional skills
Alicia had requested from him some time ago.
"Why are you so eager to learn firearms shooting, Alicia?"
Arthur asked as she settled in beside him in the luxury car. She was in a cheerful mood, making jokes
and lightening the atmosphere.
"Are you sure about what you are doing?" Arthur said, his voice filled with concern. "I mean, learning to
shoot means you're prepared to use firearms in your life, right? Even if you might need to use them in
the future?"
Arthur had chosen Alicia to be the head of his bodyguards, but that was when his problems weren't as
serious as they are today. Now, these problems require him to be ready to confront The Underworld,
which made him a bit uneasy about the potential risks he and Alicia might face on their missions.
Arthur sometimes thought he should redirect Alicia to a different job. She was too young for this difficult
work, and he had slight remorse for offering her this job. He intended to provide her with a less
strenuous task, such as being his personal assistant to help Edna with her work.
Alicia chuckled, shaking her head, "That's the problem, Arthur Oppa. I have a job as head of the
bodyguards, but I'm the only person among all my subordinates who doesn't know how to use a
firearm. That's why I really need this skill, in case I ever need to shoot someone in the future."
Smiling at Arthur, she continued, nodding vigorously, "I want to be in the best possible condition for
whatever I might face in the future. I'm not even a bit worried about the challenges - rather, I'm looking
forward to them!"
Arthur took a deep breath in response to Alicia's answer, leaning back into his chair. He let out a sigh
before saying, "It seems that telling you is indeed a tiring job, huh?"
"Oppa," Alicia replied confidently, "I'm sure of my martial-art skills. I can face three to five men at once,
and I still think I'd win the fight. Even though my body is small, my fighting technique is pretty good."
Alicia responded with a gentle giggle.
"But, I know that at some point my martial arts won't be enough to do my job," she continued, pausing
for a moment.
"That's why I need to learn some shooting techniques too, in case I have to use them in the future.
Especially with all the challenges I may face in the future, right? I'm sure people like Aston will come
back with bodyguards, all with guns, trying to intimidate us." she explained.
"Don't you want to think about this job again, Alicia?" Arthur asked, his voice filled with concern.
Alicia shook her head, a gentle smile on her face. "No, Arthur Oppa. I understand your point of view,
but I'm really enjoying this job and I'm not about to give up on it."
"Please entrust all of this to me," Alicia continued confidently. "I know this is risky, but I have prepared
myself both mentally and physically, and I'm sure that I will continue to do this work without the slightest
doubt. What's more, I want to make it clear that this was my decision and I wasn't forced into it, so you
don't need to doubt me at all."
"Good then, if you're really sure," Arthur replied casually. "I'm actually planning to add more people to
the team too. The bodyguards I currently have are very few, so I think I need more. However, on the
other hand, I also think that having a larger number of people won't be as effective if they don't have
the same quality. Therefore, I will provide deeper training to the ten people I have currently hired."
Alicia nodded quickly. "That's why I'll train them in martial-arts to make them even more formidable in
battle," she stated firmly.
"Sure, I agree with that," Arthur said.
Arthur was silent for a moment, contemplating the potential perils he might face in the future as well as
the power of The Underworld, which he had yet to fully comprehend. “The Underworld,” he said in a
tranquil tone, “I still don't understand how strong they are. But I'm sure they will soon come to seek RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
retribution for what I have done to them. And their sheer numbers do make me a bit apprehensive.”
Alicia smiled fondly in response to Arthur's words. “Arthur Oppa, you are so thoughtful,” she said,
giggling lightly. “You worried me so much, I'm really touched.”
“Of course I'm concerned for your safety, Alicia. You are still very young, and the job you do is not walk
in the park.” he replied, gently brushing her hair.
Alicia's eyes widened in surprise, and she opened her mouth to speak. "I like it, Oppa. Do it one more
time. Do it many times. I don't mind.”
"So, don't all girls become embarrassed when they are treated like this?" Arthur asked slowly,
remembering how Edna reacted when he did the same thing to her.
"Really?" Alicia responded enthusiastically.
“Is the girl you mean Edna Unnie? She is indeed kind and friendly to everyone. She has a genuine
heart of a woman. Not only does she look like an angel, but she also has an angelic soul. It's different
from me, who looks like an angel on the outside but is a demon inside, haha,” she said jokingly.
Arthur smiled kindly at Alicia's words, then nodded slowly. "Yes, sure, I totally agree that Edna is very
friendly and kind. And besides that, she always does her job seriously," he added.
“And…” Alicia then said again. "How can you be good at so many things Oppa? It's like you have a
magic box that can grant all your wishes? Do you secretly have a Doraemon? Do you have a magic
pocket?” she asked, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Alicia then joked and touched Arthur's stomach and felt shocked because it was the first time she had
held a stomach that seemed as hard as a rock.
“Woah… how can your muscles be this dry, Oppa? Have you ever been injected with the super soldier
serum like Captain America?"
“Do you really believe such a thing exists, Alicia?” Arthur asked amusedly.
“I've stopped thinking about things that make sense ever since I've known you. You really aren't real as
a human anymore," she answered with a giggle.
They continued to engage in light-hearted banter as they drove until, eventually, the car pulled up in
front of a building dedicated to shooting sports. Inside, there were a variety of air and firearm weapons
available for practice, as well as complete facilities for learning more about firearms.
"I've rented this building out for the day," Arthur declared, stepping out of the car, followed by Alicia. "I
hope we can learn a lot in one day. And if we don't have enough time, we can practice more in the days
to come."
"Alright... I'm ready!" she replied, enthusiasm in her voice.
