Chapter 1169
Peter jumped out of the car right then, yelling even as he ran into one of the abandoned factories. "Mr. Jameson! Mr. Jameson! I've lured Frank Lawrence here-tell your boys to kill him!"
"Hehe..."
A man around sixty strode out of the factory, holding a cigar between his lips and wearing a pinstripe suit.
Frank quickly recognized him-it was Larry Jameson.
He was chatting with Helen back at the Zamri lease bid, and Juno was with him back then. Frank also remembered Helen saying that he was one of Zamri's Three Bears.
And now, Larry breathed a puff of his cigar as he watched Frank alighted, chuckling. "So you're Frank Lawrence, Helen Lane's husband?"
"That's right." Frank strode up and stood before Larry, while shaking his head at Peter, who had quickly hidden himself behind Larry. "I thought you'd improve yourself after leaving Riverton for a while, but it turns out you remain ever despicable."
"Despicable? That still depends on who it is!"
Peter sneered. "There's no reason to play nice with a piece of shit like you, and I will take over Lanecorp once Mr. Jameson is done with you!"Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Frank nodded that settled what Peter was planning, and he pointed at Larry. "So you think that he can handle me?"
"Hehehe..." Larry laughed, shaking his head. "Calm down, kid. I can admit that Helen Lane has skill, stealing so many projects from me in days after taking over Lanecorp. However, Zamri only needs Three Bears... there's no reason for a fourth."
He waved his hand, and the factory roller doors opened.
Over fifty armed goons then charged
in, surrounding Frank while Larry chuckled. "Word is that you're a
martial artist, so I've invited the
Hansen brothers, the very bestonet
Zamr 'll have you know that they stand at the top of Skyrank, and they are backed up by all my boys here. Make this easy for yourself and
surrender now."
At his orders, two martial artists-one scrawny and one rotund-leapt down the roof, landing in front of Frank with a loud brank.
Vin Hansen, the scrawny one, was already glaring at Frank in contempt. "Hehe. We were paid twenty million for this brat?!"
Mos Hansen, the scrawny, glared at Frank in contempt.
།
"True. Could you be mistaken, Mr. Jameson?" Mos Hansen, the rotund brother, asked suspiciously after studying Frank, as he could not sense any pure vigor from Frank.
There were only two possibilities here.
The first was that Frank was Ascendant rank, and his abilities outmatched the brothers' senses.
That was obviously impossible, as abilities went hand-in-hand with age for martial artists, which was why the Ascendant-rank retainers of the Four Families of Morhen were elderly.
There was also no way Frank could be Ascendant rank when he was so young.
As for the second... Frank was an average Joe, and not even a vigor wielder.
And to the Hansen brothers, that seemed more likely.
That was why they suspected Larry Jameson had the wrong guy, or the twenty million would almost be too good to be true!
