The Divorced Heiress

Chapter 151

“Eunice, where did you come back so early? Didn’t you tell Granny that you will stay in Riverside City for more than a week?” Old Mrs Scott asked as she looked at the young lady who was sitting next

to her in the dining room.

*Granny believe me! I didn’t want it to seem as if I was lying to you. How can I lie to my beautiful and most clever grandma?” Eunice asked with a grin as she looked at the old woman with white hair on

her head.

When Old Mrs Scott heard her words, she snorted, saying.” You have an interesting tongue and your words can make anyone forget that they were supposed to reprimand you.”

Eunice smiled when she heard that but didn’t say anything. She just lowered her head and started

eating her food.

“Eunice, why are you here? Marie told me that you guys are going to a designer in Riverside so that she can design her wedding dress,” Mrs Scott asked immediately as she walked in.

“What! How can that bastard marry that woman even after I told him not to? Is he planning on defying my orders? Does he think that I am not his grandfather who had the strongest say in this place.

because I am an old woman?” Old Mrs Scott replied angrily.

Eunice was also surprised as Marie never told her what they were going to that city to do. She also knew that since the Anderson banquet, her mother’s attitude towards Marie had changed thus she jus couldn’t understand why the latter chose to tell her mother and didn’t tell her.

“Mom, are you sure? She never told me what we were going there to do in the first place,” Eunice asked her mother who had taken a seat on her opposite side; they were facing each other.

“Mmh. That girl knows that I don’t want her to marry Damien anymore. I told her to stay away from my

son but instead of doing what I asked of her, she told me that Damien had given her a card for her to

go to the neighboring city to get a designed wedding dress and that after that, they will get in a

month. I was so furious but what I can really do?” Mrs Scott asked.

Eunice didn’t know what to say and she even never knew in the first place that the money Marie was flossing with wasn’t hers but her brothers. She didn’t know what to say as she was speechless and at the same time ashamed to say that the woman was her so–called best friend. Also, she never thought that the latter would one day talk to her mother in that manner just for her to get married to her brother. She just felt that the current Marie wasn’t worth being her brother’s wife with her behavior

Also, she never thought that the latter would one day talk to her mother in that manner just for her to get married to her brother. She just felt that the current Marie wasn’t worth being her brother’s wife with her behavior and also family background.

“Pfft. I always said that that woman was hiding her true self but none of you ever heard me! I said. that you should not change a book by its cover when Amanda was still married to Damien but you all turned a deaf ear to it. Now that you know that Amanda is the daughter of the richest man, you all change your attitude and try getting her back? Do you think that the Andersons will ever allow it?” Old Mrs Scott asked as she knew what was going on in her daughter–in–law’s mind, but she also knew deep down she hoped that both Amanda and Damien might get remarried once more.

“Although I am embarrassed and disgusted by what Marie did, I can only say that Amanda hated us so much. I hate her too till now for what she has done to me in the past and I will make sure that she pays for all the humiliation and pain she has caused me,” Eunice said making both women turn and look

at her.

They wondered whether they had heard the right thing, her ears were playing with them, or that Eunice

didn’t just know what she was saying.

“You? How will you make her pay? Do you want to humiliate yourself more? Or anger the Andersons t the point that they completely wipe out our family?” Mrs Scott asked angrily as she just couldn’t

believe it.

“You? How will you make here you new to the

ore? Or anger the Andersons the point that they completely wipe out our family?” Mrs Scott asked angrily as she just couldn’t believe it.

She was trying so hard to get Amanda back so that their family might not be ruined yet her daughter was still playing on humiliating Amanda. She told herself that if her daughter was at least a quarter of what Amanda had become, she wouldn’t have gotten worried that the plans would backfire and th latter would get humiliated instead. For the first time, she was ashamed of her daughter and wanted to beat her up.

On the other side, Old Mrs Scott was w–still staring at Eunice and wondered whether she had heard the correct thing.

“Eunice, what have you just said? That you are embarrassed and disgusted of Marie? Isn’t she your best friend? Why are you now disgusted with her?” Old Mrs Scott asked as that was the most surprising

thing to her.

She understood and knew that Eunice’s hatred for Amanda could never be solved with just a few warming

a few days, or what she saw thus she wasn’t surprised when she said that. What shocked her were the

first words.

“Granny, do you have to remind me that I have such a wicked person as my friend? I am trying to

distance myself from her you know! By the way, if she comes, can you tell her that I am away? That I

went abroad to visit Dad?” Eunice said without looking at anyone as she knew that all she would see

was their surprised faces.

“Baby, what did that woman do to you?” Mrs Scott asked ass he didn’t find any other reason for Eunic

to hate Marie so much.

“She is the mastermind of Amanda’s so–called death. She wanted to kill Amanda but didn’t succeed.

Although I hate Amanda, I have never thought of killing her. I am not a murderer but I never expected her to be such kind of a person. If she dies to kill Amanda, wouldn’t she kill me one day when she is

dissatisfied with me?'”

“There is something fishy over there. I don’t think she is so stupid as to leave any trace.”
