Chapter 81: Calm Down, You Win
When Domino came in and saw Octavia Gills asleep, she suddenly burst into tears, she panicked and shook her gently, “Octavia? Octavia, wake up, are you dreaming?”
Octavia Gills opened her eyes and looked at Domino, and was in a momentary trance.
Domino wiped away her tears and said heartily, “Why do you all look like this all the time?”This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
Octavia Gills remained silent.
Domino sighed and told Octavia Gills about the day she left and Tredan Davi chased her to the airport.
Tredan Davi seemed like a lost soul that day, his heart broke when he heard Woodrow ask him about the Ten Commandments Song.
Octavia Gills couldn’t help but be moved as well.
But, thinking of the figure in the dream whose face she could not see, Octavia Gills calmed down.
Octavia Gills whispered.
“First it is better not to see each other, so that we may not fall in love.
Second, it is better not to know each other, so that we may not think of each other.
Third, it is better not to be with each other, so that we may not be indebted to each other.
Fourth, it is better not to cherish each other, so that we may not remember each other.
Fifth, it is better not to love each other, so that we may not abandon each other.
Sixth, it is better not to face each other, so that we may not meet.
It is better not to miss each other in the seventh, so that we may not lose each other.
The eighth best thing is not to promise each other, so that we may not continue.
The ninth is better not to cling to each other, so that we may not cling to each other.
The tenth is better not to meet, so that we may not meet.
But if we have seen each other, we know each other, and it is better to see each other than not to see each other.
I will never part with you, and I will never have to live or die thinking about you.”
At the end of the poem, tears could not help but flow.
“From the very beginning it was a misunderstanding, we kept missing every chance, everything was fixed, why cling to it?”
Outside the door, Tredan Davi listened in awe as Octavia Gills’ voice recited each sentence, each one like a knife piercing slowly into his heart, sending a dull ache throughout his soul.
The words “Why do you have to be persistent?” made him finally drop his hand from knocking on the door.
Tredan Davi came to his senses when he heard Woodrow tell him that Octavia Gills had come back to see him but had collapsed and was in the next ward. When Woodrow went out, he got up slowly and walked as far as he could from his bed.
But hearing that Octavia Gills didn’t want to be persistent anymore, his heart slowly chilled and he didn’t have the strength to knock on the door.
He moved back to the ward step by step and was just lying back in bed when Lilian Drye came in with a Thermos lunchbox.
Surprised to see him sitting up in bed, Lilian Drye, “Tredan, you’re awake, you’re finally awake.”
Putting down the Thermos lunchbox, she hugged him, crying and laughing, “You scared me to death, worried me to death.”
Tredan Davi let her hug him, not responding and not pushing her away.
This came as a bit of a surprise to Lilian Drye, but more of a pleasant one.
She opened the lunchbox and used a small bowl to serve him a bowl of porridge, “This is the porridge I asked auntie to make for you this morning, you haven’t eaten for a long time and your stomach is weak, so just eat some porridge first, we’ll slowly make up for it when you’ve recuperated.”
After saying this, she placed a spoonful of porridge on his lips and carefully tested the temperature before bringing it to Tredan Davi’s mouth.
Tredan Davi ate it with his mouth open.
Lilian Drye was dumbfounded, tears of excitement greeting her eyes as she whispered in surprise, “Tredan.”
Tredan Davi did not speak.
Lilian Drye scooped up another spoonful, blew on it, tested the temperature again, and fed it to Tredan Davi, who ate it.
Lilian Drye smiled happily while tears fell from her eyes, wiped them gently, and continued to feed him until he finished the small bowl of porridge.
Taking a tissue and carefully wiping the corner of Tredan Davi’s mouth, she said softly, “You can only eat this much for now, having too much might hurt your stomach.”
Tredan Davi’s eyes were fixed straight on the doorway.
Lilian Drye turned back after everything was done, only to see Woodrow and Domino standing in the doorway, along with Octavia Gills who was in a hospital gown,
Octavia Gills watched as Lilian Drye gently and tenderly fed Tredan Davi his porridge, and was eating it with great pleasure.
Octavia Gills calmly turns away.
Domino came back to her senses and walked out with Octavia Gills.
Woodrow scratched his head, and to be honest, he was now as confused as ever.
By the time Lilian Drye reacted to the fact that the person in the hospital gown was Octavia Gills who had already gone out, she turned her head to look at Tredan Davi who patted the pillow and prepared to lie down.
Lilian Drye bit her purple bottom lip and told herself, “Lilian, stay calm, you’re winning!”
Octavia Gills calmly returns to bed, lies down, and closes her eyes wearily.
Early in the morning, Woodrow came over to say that Tredan Davi had been refusing to eat and begged Octavia Gills to go and see him and at least persuade him to eat something as he couldn’t just live on fluids.
She really misses him, and since she was a child, the thing she can’t let go of is when he was aggrieved.
So, she went to see her, and if possible she could tell him that nothing was going on with him and Eddison.
But there was no need for her to explain anything.
Say it to yourself in your heart, “Oh, Octavia! Stop tormenting yourself with your interests; he is no concern of yours, good or bad; you were never supposed to be there, and when you were there you were only a stand-in; stop thinking too much, stop hurting yourself.”
Tears were slipping from the corners of her eyes and Domino wiped them with a tissue, shedding tears herself.
She didn’t understand what was going on here either.
How come it’s always turned out badly.
“Octavia, don’t cry,” Domino said softly.
Octavia Gills sniffled and laughed, “I’m fine, it’s fine.” But the tears were still flowing unbidden.
Domino came over and hugged her, “Octavia, why don’t you cry a little, cry it out so you’ll feel better.”
Octavia Gills hugged her back before pushing her away, “I’m really fine.”
Looking out of the window, it was drizzling outside, at that moment, the sky was as cloudy as Octavia Gills’ mood.
In the back of her mind, what lingers is the scene she just saw.
The heart has long been aching to the point of numbness.
No matter how good the memories from childhood are, they will fade with the number of times they are remembered.
Remembering the phrase, “There’s a chance but there’s no part in it??” can explain all of what’s happening now, her obsession is too deep, and the only one getting hurt was always herself.
Always moved by his every move, always struck again and again by the reality that she was like a poor moth, fluttering again and again towards that little bright light, and kept scorched again and again.
If it was fire, so be it, how can it not be a relief to burn to the ground?
It was sad to be scorched by the lamp, but that bright light always drew her back on her own accord.
Oh, Octavia Gills! How many more times do you need to die before you let go?
Lilian Drye carefully tucked Tredan Davi in and watched him fall asleep before turning around to go out.
She took out her phone and sent a Facebook message to Eddison: “Octavia is in the hospital, come to Central Hospital, Ward 6 now!”
As for which room, she didn’t bother looking, that was Eddison’s business and she had done him a favor.
In Tredan Davi’s mind was etched the look of desperation he saw in the eyes of Octavia Gills a moment ago.
But he didn’t feel the slightest thrill of revenge.
There was only an infinite pain.
When you think about it, his desire for Octavia Gills has been in his body since he was three years old, and when she left, it hurt like hell.
Does Octavia Gills love him or not?
Why was she with Eddison? That warm smile she gave Eddison plunged into his heart like a knife.
Eddison was overjoyed to receive Octavia Gills’ Facebook message. He didn’t press Octavia Gills on when she would be back, to spare her worries he couldn’t be too proactive lest Octavia Gills flinch, she was like a little snail, once she felt danger she immediately retreated into her shell and was harder to coax out again.
So, Eddison had been holding back, meanwhile, he started the preparations for the new company of Octavia Gills.
Today, out of the blue, he got a Facebook message from Lilian Drye, “Octavia is in the hospital, come to the hospital, ward 6.”
It was as if he was struck by lightning and left the room full of people, and drove straight to the hospital.
Domino was putting together all the things of Octavia Gills, who was planning to discharge herself from the hospital.
The door slammed open and Eddison burst in, panting.
Seeing Octavia Gills sitting on the hospital bed, he stood still and tried hard to calm down a bit. Smiling and looking at her.
“Eddison?”
“President Davi?”
Both Octavia and Domino were pleasantly surprised.
“How did you know I was here?” Octavia Gills asked.
“Do you believe in destiny? Do you believe that my heart is in the right place? It was my thoughts of you that guided me here.” Eddison smiled imploringly.
Octavia Gills also laughs, the last time she asked him in Japan, he said the same thing.
“President Davi, that’s very sweet of you to say!” Domino said in surprise.
Eddison ignored her and asked Octavia Gills, “Why are you in the hospital? Did you not get over your last cold? How could you be so careless.”
“All is fine now! I’ll have Domino check me out of the hospital in a few minutes.” Octavia Gills replied with a smile.
Domino’s eyes darted between the two, the affection Eddison had for Octavia Gills was obvious to any fool, and Domino understood why Octavia Gills said that when Tredan Davi had seen her with Eddison, Tredan Davi had turned into that ghost when he returned. She couldn’t help but sigh. How boring it must be for fate to have nothing better to do than to play with people’s feelings!
After gathering their things, Domino and Eddison accompanied Octavia Gills outside, one on each side, Eddison carefully holding Octavia Gills’ arm for fear that she might collapse.
Octavia Gills broke away gently and laughed, “I feel like a pregnant woman when you treat me that way.”
“Not like a pregnant woman, like an old Buddha.” Domino gave them a blank look, Octavia Gills laughed and Domino couldn’t help but smile.
When he looked up, he met up with three other people.
Woodrow and Lilian Drye were at Tredan Davi’s left and right side, helping him get ready to leave the hospital as well.
Seeing them, Lilian Drye immediately leaned towards Tredan Davi and looked provocatively at Octavia Gills.
Octavia Gills’ gaze, however, was involuntary, looking only at Tredan Davi, his thin lips pursed, his gaze cold as he looked at Eddison’s hands holding her up.
Lilian Drye came up and nudged Octavia Gills, “What are you looking at?”
Octavia Gills ducked in pain and Domino grabbed Lilian Drye’s hand that was about to hit Octavia Gills, “What do you think you’re doing?”
Octavia Gills reached for Domino and choked on a breath, coughing violently, her face suffocating and hunched over in a ball.
Eddison was anxious and rushed to pat her back, “Octavia! Octavia! Are you okay? Are you alright?”
Tredan Davi took a step forward, but then stood still, his hand clutching Woodrow’s arm in a death grip, and Woodrow cringed with pain but didn’t dare to make a sound.
“Keep your eyes to yourself and don’t look where you’re not supposed to!” Lilian Drye wrenched herself from Domino’s grasp, raising her chin arrogantly at Octavia Gills, who was coughing hard.
Domino held Octavia Gills and rubbed her back to allow her to breathe smoothly.
Seeing Woodrow go off with Lillian and Tredan, she shouted, “Woodrow, I’m breaking up with you!”
Woodrow cried out in disbelief, his arm being squeezed hard by Tredan Davi the whole time. He knew Tredan Davi must be feeling bad in a way, not daring to move an inch, not even daring to make a sound from the pain he felt for fear of irritating him.
It was only possible for him to follow Tredan Davi out.
Domino was furious, “Don’t you ever come back!”
Octavia Gills, all sweaty, leaned over her shoulder and patted her, “Go get him, I’m fine.”
“Me?! Go to him?! Not a chance in hell!” Domino flared out.
“Octavia let’s go, he shouldn’t come back to me for the rest of his life if he has no balls!”
Eddison went to stop them, “Octavia, are you sure you want to be discharged? In your condition, it’s better to stay in the hospital and get some treatment.”
Octavia Gills smiled lightly and shook her head, “No, I want to go home and recuperate from there.”
Eddison drove Octavia Gills and Domino to the Orchid Heart Bistro.
Gar stayed behind today to get Octavia Gills’ room cleaned up.
Eldwin and Elda were waiting at the door before the bistro opened.
“Mum, Eldwin,” Octavia Gills said as she got out of the car and saw them, taking a few quick steps to meet them.
“Octavia!” the two stepped forward as one of them took Octavia Gills by the hand.
