Chapter 23.
Savage POV.
I'm lying on the meeting room table as Doc patches me up. I ignore everything and everyone. Last night has confirmed what I think I always knew, but was too stupid to acknowledge. Luckily, my men weren't seriously hurt. Danny was shot in the leg as the van rammed into the gate. It has been hours since the shit hit the fucking fan. The damn Vipers did this to her. Foxy is still in with her father. And Angel, she believed everything that slut had to say. She shot me. Any lower, she would have killed me.
The things that Foxy said. Only part of it was true. That part about me fucking her before Angel turned eighteen. As soon as Angel turned eighteen, I stopped fucking Foxy and anyone else, until Foxy fucking played me, claiming she was pregnant with my child weeks before the photos arrived. I don't remember sleeping with her the night she claimed I did only waking up beside her. I wasn't lying when I told Angel I haven't been with anyone since I found out what Foxy did. I'm a damn fool. I should have sent her packing long ago. But I didn't. Why? Because I couldn't see a woman who I grew up with being used like that by her father, even though she was fucking other members of this club. So I kept her here to protect her. Looking back at it now, I was stupid, thinking I was helping a friend. A friend who I used to hurt my Angel with, a conniving snake who I believed and fucked my life and happiness up for all because of jealousy. Now I'm paying for it and I deserve it all.
"Pres, we lost them." I groan as I sit up, holding my now bandaged shoulder as I look at Blaze.
"Like the snakes they are they slithered back under a damn rock? Any word from Antonio yet?" I ask, knowing he is going to come for me because of what that bitch said to his daughter. He will wipe us out if we don't move and draw the Vipers out.
"No, but it won't be long before word gets to him about what went down here," he says, and I know that. I wave him off as I stand from the table and sit in my chair.
Foxy confirmed it. It was her father's men. His club did this to Angel all because of her. They lied to me, both of them. They have been in cahoots the whole damn time. I'm such a damn fool!
Ice found her phone and found all kinds of messages, calls, and emails about our damn plans! She even told her father about Angel, saying Angel used to be a club whore, who came back and had claimed Rebel as mine, that Angel was lying.
She didn't tell him who Angel really was. She is smart. She knows the Moretti's will stop at nothing to find them. So the web of lies and deceit is unravelling. As the noose tightens around all our necks.
That is why she tried to have Angel and Rebel killed last night, because if her father doesn't know who Angel truly is, it can't come back on her. It is only a matter of time before he figures it out and it is time we don't have. My phone rings and I sigh, pulling it out and I stiffen, seeing the name flashing on the screen.Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
"You better meet me outside now!" I shiver as the call disconnects. I stand and leave the meeting room and walk like I have given up which I have. I lost her and my daughter and it's all because of me and a jealous bitch.
My men all look at me with pity, but I ignore them as I leave the clubhouse and find twenty men in black suits waiting for me. But it's not them I'm scared of. It's the woman standing in front and centre. Teagan Moretti. The early morning sun makes her green eyes more vibrant and hidden in their depths lies nothing but rage. I shiver at the gaze coming from her.
The surrounding men are nothing compared to her. She can snap her fingers and we will all be killed. It is only me that deserves death. I did this. I ignored all my men's concerns about Foxy; I ignored it all and now I'm paying the price for my stupidity.
"When I think you couldn't possibly fuck up more that you have, you go and prove me wrong. Tell me, Ryder, was it all worth it?" she asks and she is calm as she looks at me, but I look down and sigh before I lift my face to look at her.
"What do you want me to say, Teagan? Do you not think I know how much I have fucked up? I know what I did. There is no amount of sorry's I can say that will make any of this right."
"You're right, there isn't. Actions
speak louder than words, Ryder, and right now your actions are plain to see. You have given up. You have lost your fight, that savagery that you once had is gone. All because of some pussy. So how do you plan on making this right?" she says and I look at her when her eyes, go from me to my shoulder and back again and I see the slight raise in the corner of her mouth.
"I don't know. They have disappeared and I don't know what to fucking do!" I shout as her men raise their guns, all trained on me as the doors behind me open and my men come out with their guns raised.
The atmosphere is charged. All it would take is one spark and we will be wiped out. Teagan steps forward, raising her hand in the air, and her men stand down. I do the same as I step down to meet her halfway.
"The time for shoulda, woulda, coulda's has long past. You find the Vipers and you execute them before she does. You are not to blame solely for what happened. We are equally to blame. We forced her to return to you. This is on us as much as it is on you," she says and I look at her and I sigh as she smiles at me gently.
"We will find them. If we can't, then we will flush them out." She raises an eyebrow at that.
"Pray tell. How? Because I know angel isn't waiting around. She is already mobilising her men. When she shot you, that was her accepting there was no going back from this can't hold her back for long. She is more than angry, she is becoming worse. So if you want to keep yourself and your men and this club alive, I suggest you pull your fucking head out of your ass and do what you should have fucking done a long time ago."
"She wants revenge for what happened. I know what she did to that tattoo parlour. That was her doing. Angel believes she has fallen. Now you need to find them. I want Foxy, her father, and the men who raped her alive. Kill the fucking rest." She says with such venom and ice in her tone. This is not the Teagan Moretti I knew growing up. She has changed, and that is because of Angel.
"If we can't find them?" Blaze asks. She smirks at him as her men draw their guns once more.
"I think that answers your question,
Blaze. You will all take the fall for
what happened. A club for a club, so to speak. Antonio is not who you should fear is me. But more so now it's my daughter. I will be generous. You have a week. That is seven days, Ryder, to find them or you know what will happen. I'm sorry it had to come to this. I truly am. Your men and women shouldn't have to suffer because of this, but they will. If in seven days you haven't got them, then it is war. A war you know you will lose." She turns and walks back to her men and past them as she opens the door to the SUV and climbs up and stops before turning to look at me.
"Pres. What are your orders?" Blaze asks from the side.
"Seven days Ryder. Oh, and may I make a suggestion? If I were you, I would get rid of the club whores, because let's face it, they all stick together. Ciao." She climbs in and her men follow her into their own vehicles. I watch as the last SUV leaves the compound and I release the breath I have been holding.
"We find them, we draw them out. We burn everything they own to the damn ground. We are fucking one percenters. We take what is theirs, we bring them to their damn knees, and then we kill them all. But I want the higher-ups alive. I want Foxy and the scumbags that did this alive. We have work, boys. Let's get planning, shall we?" They all say aye and I smirk.
Teagan thinks I've lost that savagery. I'm going to show her why they call me Savage!
