Chapter 202 What Goes Bump In The Night
If there are two things that I am certain of, then one shall be that you do not mess with one of the Winchester boys, and second, you shall not tell the Vampire Master what to do.
Now to which option do we listen?
That shall be mine, of course. Now it is almost a guarantee that this one is not going to sit very well by Dean, but the fact remains that it is my child that is growing in that vacuum, and I shall do whatever it takes so that no harm comes to him. It is not that I am saying that Dean shall harm the child, but Dean is a Hunter, and his instinct is to protect the humans before he protects anything else.
So with only but one single shake of my head, I firmly look him with firm confirmation in the eyes, “I am afraid that it will not happen.” I pause for a moment knowing that he is going to need some reassurance, “Well, at least not today. We have a creature that is busy snacking on the city’s mortals; somehow, I think that a little baby is far more innocent than that.”NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
I watch as he grinds on his teeth just before he is about to growl at me in a rage of thunder, yet, he bites his tongue for he knows that I speak the truth, “Fair then, but you are not getting off the hook on this one.” Then he pauses while he gets a sneaky little grin on his face, “And I am having a little chat with that wife of yours.”
“By all means,” I only but laugh at him, “Please go ahead and scold her if you must.”
“I think I shall leave the kinky shit to you. Now,” He looks over at Sam that has not paid much attention to our back and forth banter of the past few minutes, “Now, Sam, do you have a location?”
As he briefly looks over at his laptop that he has been glued since we left the mansion, he mumbles from under his voice, “There was just a sighting of a woman being attacked on Oxford Street.”
“But,” I look at Sam rather confused, “Is that not rather in the open for some creature of the night.”
“Well,” Sam turns to face me once again, “Since we don’t know which of the three we are dealing with, I cannot answer that question. You never know with these goddamn things, they get so unpredictable at the greatest of times. Now,” he slaps his brother against the shoulder, “Best you put a foot down there before the authorities are going to get involved.”
So we find ourselves navigating the streets of the city towards Oxford. The mood has now grown far tense as the anticipation lies thick in the air; we have no idea what we are going to come up next. Now, as far as we stand, there is the option of three creatures that will feast on a human. However, we are not taking a Demon into consideration here at all.
As the story goes, you find a creature called a Rugaru. Now, this is not only a powerful monster, but the poor thing has a rather tragic history. These creatures were once normal humans; they lived a normal life up until the age of thirty. The fateful day when they turn thirty, they morph and change into a monster with animal instincts which is what makes them hungry. It is said that they will eat anything, even former loved ones, as they are unable to control themselves.
We are considering this one rather strongly, though we are left with two other options apart from this one.
You shall find a monster that the Winchester boys have defeated before, which they call a Wendigo. They are said to be cannibalistic creatures that possess humans, thus this one being our strongest contender from them all.
Though the little problem with this one is that it has super speed, and they are immortal. Therefore you find that they are fast and very smart. I can honestly say that we all are hoping that it shall not be a Wendigo.
Then with our last option here, we are looking at an Alpha-level monster that feeds on flesh, which is why we were considering a demon at first. Though problem being with a Ghoul is that it feeds on the deceased, and we are under the firm impression that their victims are very much alive.
But as Sam looks at me, he looks rather defeated, “Lucas, it seems that Ghouls fee on the living as well. And, do you want to know the best part?”
“My god, is there even a best part in eating a human alive?”
“Well, not only can they take the form of their victim on, but they have super speed and strength.” Then he pauses for a brief moment, and that smile turns into a somewhat of a grin, “And they are indestructible.”
“You got to be shitting me?”
“No, but they can be killed by decapitation.”
“Well, then let us all hope that it is the weakest one of them all.”
With that, Sam turns back to focus on his laptop. The boy constantly has his head stuck in it, but he is a very clever man. The knowledge that these two boys have, I can easily say, surpasses mine by far at times. I have never in my days heard any of such creatures.
And will I am away in my own mind, Sam suddenly shouts out at the top of his face. Nearly having a heart attack, I look at him puzzled, “Are you watching porn on that thing now?”
He only but waves me off as he points at an article that has just popped up on his screen, “There has been another sighting. This lady has described the man in much detail, but I am afraid that I cannot tell you which one it is for all of them do look like she mentioned; they look an off-color grey.”
This puts immediate haste in Dean as he slams the pedal down into the floor, and we speed off at a far greater speed than before.
As we finally reach Oxford Street, I glance down the stretch of it, “My god, this is going to be a nightmare. What do you think the creature’s intention is here?”
Dean looks at me just as horrified as he sees the number of people that are lining the street down here, “I am taking my best guess here that he is grabbing the opportunity of there being so many humans being available.” Then he points down to several side streets that shall not be so occupied. “He is most probably trying to pull them into one of those. Well, that is where most of these victims have been found, not the alleyways but in fact the streets.”
With that, we all exit the car and meet up with the rest of the group. Sam takes the task upon himself to inform them of what we are looking at. Now to say that our poor Vampire Hunter does not look terrified would be a lie. I think the man has just seen a ghost before he has even laid his eyes on it.
So splitting up in two groups as we were before, the Winchester boys and me, we take the left side of the street while the others go down the right.
Slowly we make crawling steps towards the location where the last attack was reported. Now yes, we should do this in haste, but we are not aware of the knowledge these creatures carry of such things as Hunters. The very last thing we want is a stand-off in the middle of the busiest street in London.
We are aiming to catch the creature between the phases of grabbing his victim and just before eating it. Yes, that is cutting a rather fine line, but we need to stay off the main street.
With that, we are coming closer and closer up to the last location. My senses are immediately heightened as I smell the familiar smell of blood and what is only described as rotten flesh. The smell knocks my breath away and leaves my stomach weak. I think we have just found the most powerful tool that we will have in finding this creature.
So I look over to Dean with a newfound determined smile on my face; he shakes his head and only curses underneath his breath, “Please do tell me what are you finding so amusing at this very moment?”
“I think, well, I know what. I have picked up the scent of the creature that was here only moments ago.”
Sam looks at me as his jaw drops to the floor, “That is not even supposed to be possible.”
“Well,” I start picking up my pace, “We are not far behind, so best we catch up.
