Chapter 822
Chapter 822
Wendy had arrived home half an hour before Larissa, By now, she was already in her loungewear and watching TV, slouching on the sola. In her arms, she held a bag of potato chips that they bought from the supermarket last night.
In comparison to Kevan who was busy in the kitchen, she seemed very relaxed.
Approaching Wendy with Lewis‘ and Marilyn’s coals, Larissa kicked her under the coffee table. She hissed with displeasure, “Can’t you go and help out?”
Wendy winced in pain and withdrew her leg. She glared at Larissa and said through gritted teeth. “It’s not like I can be of any help! Mr. Rogers came over early in the afternoon to wash the vegetables and prepare the seafood. Tell me, what else can I do?”
Hearing this, Larissa glanced at the kitchen with a puzzled expression. “Then why is he still in the kitchen?”
Wendy cestured towards Aster with her chin. Ask your scr
Larissa lured her questioning gaze on Aster, who replied proudly, “Daddy is mading pretzels for me!”
“Pretzels?” Larissa furrowed her brows. “Why did he suddenly decide to fry pretzels?
Wendy waved her phone. “Your son saw that on Instagram! Since there was an epidemic spreading in Caldor, everyone was stuck at home playing around with random things. Aster hadn’t tried pretzels before, so he was very interested. Mr. Rogers said he would make it so that Aster could try it for himself.”
Larissa had not personally fried pretzels at home before this, so she found it novel as well.
“Both of you have a seat. I’ll get you something to drink. We have water and soda. What would you like?” Larissa molioned to Lewis and Marilyn.
Lewis and Marilyn replied simultaneously, “Water would do.”
They exchanged surprised looks after that. Marilyn blushed and lowered her head immediately. Larissa noticed her reaction and suppressed a smile, but she didn’t call her out
A layer of four was scattered on the countertop. Several long pieces of dough were neatly arranged on it. Kevan was standing at the frying pan with an apron around his neck. The sleeves ofhis shirt were wrapped tightly with cling wrap as he deep fried the pretzels in hot oil
When the surface of the pretzels had turned golden brown, Kevan scooped out the filed pretzels and lined them on a plate with paper
towels.
“That smells amazing.” Larissa swallowed her salva and watched as Kevan twisted the dough into pretzels and put them in the frying pan.
The boiling of emitted a sizzling sound as numerous bubbles were formed.
Kevan took a step back. Picking up a cooled pretzel from the plate, he tore off a small piece and brought it to Larissa’s mouth.
Looking at her expectantly, he said, “Give it a try.”
He was like a student waiting for his teacher’s approval.
The crispy texture in her mouth made Larissa exclaim. “This is delicious!”
Since going abroad and the few months she was in Calder, this was the first time she tasted such delicious pretzels.
Kevan breathed a sigh of relief. “It’s my first time making them. I was worried they wouldn’t turn out well”
In Larissa’s eyes, his self–deprecating comment seemed to be uncalled for. She pursed her Ips and suppressed the sarcasm on the tip of her tongue.
Inexplicably, she reached out for another bite of the pretzels. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
Alas, Kevan intercepted her before she managed to get one.
