Chapter 731
Chapter 731
Larissa and Aster turned their faces away and ignored Wendy. Their expressions of disdain were obvious.
“Hmph!” Wendy tossed her napkin in annoyance. She grabbed her bag and stood up, gritting her teeth. Tm going to the restroom!”
The restrooms in the restaurant were separated by gender, but the sinks outside were shared.
When Wendy came out, there was a man who looked like a Caldorian washing his hands at the sink.
After living in Aldovia for some time, she had long passed the phase of striking up conversations with random Caldorians. These days, she would not even look twice at the faces of unfamiliar people.
Still this man caught her attention for one reason.
In this fast–food restaurant, no one was dressed as well as he did. Wearing a well–fitted sult, the man had a neat tie on. His black leather shoes were gleaming.
Having worked in the hotel industry for many years, Wendy had seen her fair share of distinguished guests. Although the man’s clothes had no logo. It was of good fabric and high–quality craftsmanship.
She deduced that this man was definitely not an ordinary person. Therefore, his presence here seemed even more peculiar.
The man carefully rinsed the soap off his fingers and straightened up. Through the mimor, he noticed Wendy’s looks of curiosity.
When their eyes met. Wendy was startled and quickly averted her gaze. Feeling guilty at being caught staring, she approached the sink slowly. Wendy composed herself and put her hands under the tap.
The cold water flowed over her hands, but it couldn’t cool down her cheeks. They were burning from embarrassment.
From the comer of her eye, she saw the man taking a tissue. He didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving. Wendy sped up. She turned off the tap and didn’t waste any time drying her hands. Instead, she shook her hands dry and turned to leave.
Before Wendy could take a step forward, she heard a chuckle. A voice laced with amusement came from behind her. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
“Genius? Goddess?”
Wendy felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her mind went blank. Her body froze. Blood rushed into her head. Her face turned as red as a tomato. She was burning with embarrassment.
While Wendy was in a daze, the man walked around and faced her. Wendy finally got a clear look at the man’s face.
He had sharp eyes, a well–delined nose, and thin lips. His features were attractive, but they gave him an androgynous look. There was something about his face that felt familiar to her.
“Why so quiet? Could it be that the goddess is mute? Still I heard your voice just now the man said with a mocking smile.
Wendy couldn’t bear to stay a moment longer. She turned and ran without another look behind her shoulder.
Wendy returned to her seat, panting. She gestured to the waiter and asked for a glass of cold water.
Larissa looked at her in surprise. Taking In Wendy’s flushed lace and wet bangs, she asked. “Were you in the restroom or running a marathon?”
The intense run had left Wendy out of breath.
She waved her hand and struggled to speak. “I have such bad luck! I encountered a lunatic in the restroom!”
