Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 458

Chapter 458

Chad glanced at the angering sprite beside him, used to her antics by now.

The phone was connected, and Jack’s pleading voice came through. He was crying, begging Molly for

mercy. “Molly, I’m sorry. I just really liked you. I shouldn’t have harassed you. Please let me go. I don’t

have a home anymore. My father... my father has another family now. He doesn’t want me... Molly, I’m

sorry.”

Jack kept talking about his misfortunes, trying to gain Molly’s sympathy, but he had underestimated

Molly’s character.

Before Chad could even open his mouth, Molly couldn’t hold back anymore. “I’m not Mother Teresa. I

don’t have the heart to pity your tragic fatherless situation. If you’re really lacking a mother’s love, call

me mom and see how it sounds. I’ll treat you like my own.”

After she finished, she gave Chad a proud, show-off look.

There was silence on Jack’s end of the call for a moment. “Molly, I really have nowhere else to go.

Please help me. The company can’t go bankrupt. If it does, I’ll have nothing left. Without anything, I

might as well be dead.”

Unconsciously, Molly was hanging onto Chad’s arm, leaning on him. Chad was holding the phone, and

she was in charge of the exchange. “If you want to die, do it somewhere else. Don’t bother the police.

They’re busy.”

Molly wasn’t soft-hearted. She had no sympathy. In fact, she was a little devil.

Jack was hitting wall after wall. He had kneeled and begged his father, groveled in front of politicians,

and lowered his pride to seek the help of spoiled brats. Now, a word from Molly could save him, and he

had apologized nicely, but she wouldn’t accept it, even trying to push him to the edge.

“Molly, why can’t you see my feelings for you? If you push me to my death, can your conscience handle

it?”

Molly rolled her eyes. Feelings? Sweet talk was just false sentiment.

“Jack, I never expected you to be this shameless. It’s not like I’m the one driving you to death, and now

you’re trying to blame it on me. You’re planning to blame me. Well, go ahead. After all, my brother is

the best. He can protect me.”

After speaking, she looked up at Chad for approval. “Chad, I’m right, aren’t I?”

Chad didn’t even get a word in before Molly fired back a string of words. There was no need for him to

even take the call anymore. He directly handed the phone to her. “Here you go, your turn. I’m going to

bed.”

Molly quickly hugged Chad, preventing him from leaving. “No, no, no, you are in this too.”

“I see you’re pretty happy talking.”

Molly shrugged. “Just a bit, not ‘pretty’ happy.”

Jack heard Chad’s voice on the other end. So he had been there all along. And at this late hour, Molly

was actually still with him.

Chad immediately took off speakerphone and held the phone to his ear.

Molly tiptoed to listen in, but Chad pushed her away. He went back to his bedroom, turned around to

lock the door, leaving Molly standing outside. He returned to his room, alone with the phone. His voice

was low, reminding Jack, “Did you forget the warning I gave you last time?”

Jack stared at his still healing wrist. Now he even had difficulty eating.

Chad spoke lightly. His gaze looked far out the window. “It seems I need to help you remember what

you swore that time.”

“I really have nowhere else to go.” Jack’s words were cut off by Chad’s cold reply, “That’s exactly what I

want!” If he had a way out, where would the satisfaction come from?

Jack closed his eyes. He couldn’t accept it. The company had been in his hands for less than three

months and now it was ruined. He was used to being looked up to by others, used to being the only

shining star among his friends, used to being admired. Once he fell from the sky, he couldn’t handle the

difference.

When he quieted down, he started thinking about which shareholder of the company would definitely

be saying behind his back that he was useless, incompetent. He also thought about his old classmates,

wondering if they would also be talking behind his back.

Jack knew there was no hope for help. He was at the point of tearing off all pretenses. “Chad, what

good does it do for you to push me to death?”

Chad laughed coldly, “Incredibly stupid.”

“Chad, you like Molly, don’t you.”

Chad’s eyes shifted slightly towards the phone. Men understand men best, and rivals can most easily

detect rivals. Jack suddenly burst out laughing, “You’re in love with your sister, haha.”

Chad said, “So what if I am? You also know, her name is Molly Cedillo.”

Jack stopped laughing. “Officer Chad, when a person is pushed to the edge, they can do anything. I

won’t let go of Molly.”

Was that a threat?

Chad’s eyes flashed with a ruthless light, and his fists clenched tightly.

Five minutes later, Chad’s bedroom door opened. Molly hurried forward, but before she could reach her

brother, a phone was tossed into her arms, followed by Chad’s aloof command, “Go to sleep.”

Molly was curious. “Is it over? What were you guys talking about?”

As she tried to follow Chad, he slammed his bedroom door shut and locked it again, not to keep others

out, but to keep Molly out.

Molly almost ran into it. “You scared me.” She patted her chest, looked at the phone, and saw that even

the recent call log had been deleted.

Molly pouted. Her hand was still in the motion of patting her chest. She turned and went back to her

room.

Soon, Chad changed into his day clothes and quietly left his room. Coոtent of Drаmаոovels.cоm

Molly was about to go to sleep when suddenly, the headlights of a car lit up downstairs and the sound

of the engine starting made her jump out of bed. She ran to the window, opened it, and saw a white car

driving out of the yard.

Molly leaned out the window, watching as Chad’s car disappeared from sight. She looked up at the

going?

A summer breeze blew, stirring Molly’s hair. She turned her head to look at the phone on the bed,

thinking about the call Jack had made earlier. She seemed to understand why Chad had deleted the

call log from her phone.
