Super Mommy and Her Triplets

Chapter 708

Chapter 708

Holden sat by the bedside, looking at the woman on the bed.

After spending time with Wendy for the past few days, he realized something he should have known all along. Women were not to be trifled with. Dealing with them was far more troublesome than facing a hail of bullets.

“I'm heading to Tarragon headquarters in a couple of days. I've already spoken to Lionel, and he promised to take care of you during this period. As for the other matters, we'll talk about it when I get back.”

Wendy glanced at him coldly; her voice was flat and lifeless as she spoke. “Let's just part ways forever. Don't bother coming back to us once you leave Hallsbay. Our relationship soured when you decided to leave me in danger, even though you knew I was pregnant. I'm sorry, but I can't let you make it up to me in the future. And don't even think about using force to keep me here because I won't let you have your way.” Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“I'm sorry,” Holden replied hoarsely, his voice raw with emotion. “It was dangerous back then, and I couldn't bring you to Tarragon with me. I had no choice but to leave you behind. I know I broke your heart, but I promise to spend the rest of my life making it up to you. But you can't tell me not to see you anymore. We have a connection, and our son is six years old now. I won't let you go, and you should take this time to think about it. If you push me too hard, I'll have no choice but to do things the hard way. There's no use escaping; I'll always get my way.”

Hearing his words, Wendy laughed in exasperation. “You're still as domineering as ever, but you're right. After all, Holden is a man who controls Tarragon and can make countless people tremble at his command. In contrast, I'm just a helpless woman with no backing. How can I fight against you? If you

are bent on keeping me by your side, how can I ever escape?”

The man chuckled softly as he reached up to smooth a strand of hair from her forehead. “I'm glad you know your place. Many international tycoons have offered me their women, but I rejected them all. My love for you is unwavering, and I want you to be my wife. You should be honored.”

That was the last straw. Her anger surged, and she could feel her blood boiling with rage. “Get out,” she seethed.

Holden leaned in and planted a kiss on her forehead before grinning. “I guess you're just upset with me. I'll have to ask Artemis for some advice on how to please a woman.”

In the examination room, Justin studied the CT scan and blood report in his hand. “Aside from coughing up blood, have you experienced any other symptoms?”

Artemis shook his head. “No, I just feel the blood churning in my chest. Once I spit it out, I feel fine. What are the results of my medical examination? Did you find anything unusual?”

“No, your blood work and internal organs all appear normal. Your sudden hemoptysis could be related to overexertion. Why don't you take a few days of rest and monitor your condition? If you feel better, there's nothing to worry about. However, if things get worse, tell Bailey and let her conduct a medical examination to determine the cause.”

After a moment of silence, Artemis said flatly, “I'm heading to Tarragon headquarters in a few days. I shall seek the medical elder's opinion instead. Don't tell Bailey for now; I don't want her to worry.”

“That's a good idea. Perhaps we're just overthinking it. If it's really due to poisoning or internal injuries, the blood tests and CT scan would have revealed it,” Justin responded.

In a presidential suite at a five-star hotel, Philip sat on the couch with a glass of red wine in hand.

The middle-aged man standing beside him said, “Mr. Hoffman, you've saved the head of the Shurmer family, and they now owe you a favor. As such, Zeke shouldn't cause trouble for the Hoffman family anymore. Since we've achieved our goal for this trip, shouldn't we return to Moranta?”

“There's no hurry,” Philip said casually, “This morning, Sofie called me and said that Artemis has been poisoned with Soul Reaper, a long-lost poison from the Yablon family. There is a seven-day incubation period, and the poison can't be detected if the toxicity hasn't fully developed. Once it does, he's as good as dead. We've taken care of the head of Tarragon, but the second-in-command is still at large.”

After pondering for a moment, the man asked, “Are you referring to Micah and Holden? Micah is not a concern anymore; he is distracted by a woman and no longer ambitious. As for Holden, we haven't found his weakness yet.”

A calculating glint flashed across Philip's eyes as he lightly tapped the cup's surface.

“He has a weakness, and it's easy to exploit. We just need to use a few tricks, and we can easily take advantage of his vulnerability.”

The middle-aged man was puzzled. Many things were high-level secrets within the Hoffman family, and as a subordinate, he didn't have the qualifications to know them. Therefore, he didn't quite understand the meaning behind Philip's words.

“What do you mean, Mr. Hoffman? I'm too dull to understand your plans. Please enlighten me.”

Philip smiled and asked, “Do you know who's the father of my eldest niece's child?”

The middle-aged man was taken aback. “Are you referring to Ms. Wendy's child? Didn't she marry the head of LG Corporation, Lionel Gezmond? Isn't her child...”

Before he could continue, Philip interrupted, “No, it isn't Lionel's child. She was already pregnant when she married Lionel. The child belongs to Holden.”

A look of alarm flashed past the middle-aged man's face. However, it disappeared quickly as he went on to ask, “Are you planning to abduct Ms. Wendy and her son and use them to threaten Holden?

Philip's lips curved into a sly smile. Holden and his sister are planning to return to Tarragon headquarters to settle an old score. Wendy, who is injured, will undoubtedly stay at Hallsbay. I haven't seen my niece in a long time, so I think it's time for me to pay her a visit.”

The man could fully understand Philip's intention. “Don't worry. I'll take care of this, Mr. Hoffman. When we leave Hallsbay to return home, we'll bring Ms. Wendy and her son along.”

Philip laughed heartily. “All right, I'll be waiting for your good news. Don't you dare disappoint me.”

“I won't,” the man assured.

In the ward at the medical base, Bailey leaned against the bedside, smiling as she watched Shannon standing next to her bed.

“Are you here to say goodbye?” Bailey asked.

Shannon looked at her blankly, and after a moment of silence, she said, “Thank you.”

After all, if it weren't for Bailey, she would probably have died long ago.

After experiencing such injuries, every breath she took caused intense pain.

She was able to hold on because of the strength and courage Bailey gave her.

“Bailey, they say too much wisdom brings harm. You're too perceptive; a person like you who can see through the mysteries of the world wouldn't be accepted by society. From now on, you should be a bit more foolish. With so many people protecting you, you don't need to be too smart. Just enjoy their care,” Shannon advised.

In response, Bailey chuckled softly and said, “What are your plans for the future? Actually, you don't have to go back to Tarragon if you don't want to. Just kill Yvette, and everything will be settled.”

Tarragon was probably the most heart-wrenching place for Shannon.

Not only was her arm broken there, but it was also done right in front of Micah.
