Suddenly There Are Three (Bailey and Artemis)

Chapter 242

Chapter 242

In the meantime, Artemis inspected the entire hotel, but he was not able to find anything.

Huh, this is really strange... My family is in charge of everything for this wedding, and our security

levels are pretty good, too. There's no way someone would be able to sabotage it without leaving any

traces behind, and yet, my investigations have yielded no results whatsoever. Whoever did this must

be really skilled if they managed to get away with it.

After the wedding was canceled, Clarence and Beatrice brought Rhonda back to the Jefferson

residence.

As if she had lost her soul, Rhonda sat on the edge of her bed and stared blankly at the LCD television

on the wall.

Beatrice let out a sigh when she saw the state Rhonda was in. “Do you want to get your revenge on the

person who ruined your wedding?”

That question successfully snapped Rhonda out of her dazed state.

The light slowly returned to her eyes as she turned toward Beatrice. “Mom, you know who ruined my

wedding?” she queried.

Having made up her mind, Beatrice replied through clenched teeth, “If I'm not mistaken, the one who

drugged you today is the same person who gave you that abortifacient.”

Upon hearing the word “abortifacient,” Rhonda got all worked up. The look in her eyes turned icy-cold

and vicious. “Who is it? Who did this to me?”

“Artemis has always treated one particular woman especially well throughout the past few years. Do

you know who she is?” Beatrice asked suggestively while glancing at the scratch wounds on her wrists.

Rhonda sat bolt upright as she realized who Beatrice was talking about.

“I know who she is! It's Zoey! It has got to be her! She would always stay over at Artemis' private

mansion whenever she returned to Hallsbay! I'm guessing she's in love with Artemis, which would

explain why she got jealous of him marrying me. I'll go tear that b*tch a new one right now!”

She was about to get off the bed when Beatrice held her down by the shoulders. “Ronni, have you

forgotten what I taught you about letting others do it for you?” she asked sternly.

Rhonda paused and stared blankly at her for a brief moment before bursting into laughter.

“Hahaha! You're right! I can't believe I forgot about that! Artemis loves Bailey, not me. If I let Zoey know

that Bailey is the one who stole his heart, she'll go after Bailey for sure! I could just let them battle it out

before swooping in to finish them off! That way, I'll be able to get rid of them both in one go!”

Beatrice gently caressed her pale cheek, uttering with a relieved smile, “I'm glad to see you're finally

mature, Ronni. Zoey is the Shurmer family's most precious little princess. On top of that, Gerald wants

her as his daughter-in-law. Things are going to get interesting if she goes against Bailey. At least one of

them is bound to lose the battle, and that would be a desirable outcome regardless of who it is.”

“Yeah! This time, I'm actually hoping Bailey will go all out and teach that b*tch a lesson! Bailey's not

going to marry Artemis, anyway, so she'll make the perfect weapon against Zoey!” Rhonda exclaimed

excitedly.

“Then be a good girl and nurse yourself back to health. That way, you'll be able to truly enjoy the show.”

Meanwhile, in Shelbert Condominium, Bailey poured Artemis a glass of warm water in his study.

“You didn't manage to find out who sabotaged the wedding?” she asked casually.

Artemis kept quiet and took a few sips of the water before replying, “I know it wasn't the act of our

branch families because they don't have what it takes to get away with something like this. Rhonda's

lover didn't do it either. He wouldn't have settled for someone like her if he were that capable.”

Arching an eyebrow at him, the woman stated with a smile, “This is getting interesting. If it isn't your

branch families nor Rhonda's lover, who could it be? Do you think one of your jealous admirers

might've taken their anger out on Rhonda?”

“It's possible,” Artemis replied in a straightforward manner.

I don't know who it could be, though. There are way too many girls out there who have a crush on me.

“I'll leave you to it, then. I'm fine with anything as long as it doesn't involve me. If anyone dares mess Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

with me, I'll be sure to give them hell!” Bailey pronounced while walking out the door.

D*mn, this woman sure is savage! I like this side of her, though.

Two days later, Veronique's sister, Yvonne Revelle, arrived in Hallsbay.

The first thing Bailey did was bring Yvonne to the study in Shelbert Condominium, where she spoke to

her for over an hour.

Yvonne had a solemn look on her face when the two of them stepped out of the study.

Throughout the past few years, the Revelle family had constantly asked Veronique who Zephyr's father

was, but they never got the answer they were looking for. As such, Yvonne was extremely surprised

when she found out about the truth.

While she sympathized deeply with her sister, she also felt incredibly helpless about the situation.

The biggest issue they faced was the fact that the Fletcher family wanted Justin to marry into their

family. As such, Zephyr would be in for a world of trouble if the Fletcher family found out about his

existence.

On the other side, in the study of the Revelle residence, Bill stared at both of his daughters before

shifting his gaze toward Yvonne.

“Are you sure you want to go see Scarlett?” he asked solemnly.

Nodding, Yvonne replied with a smile, “I'm Zephyr's mother, so it only makes sense for me to go.

Besides, Veronique isn't in a convenient position to do much, anyway.”

“I'm sorry for dragging you into this, Yvonne,” Veronique sobbed.

Yvonne gently jabbed at her forehead as she replied, “You silly girl! We're sisters! I'll always help you

out!”

“Fair enough.” Bill got up from the couch and continued, “Since you two have made up your minds, I

won't stop you from going through with this. Yvie, you will test Ms. Fletcher out and see what her

conditions are for the bone marrow donation. Make sure to be mindful of your attitude, though. We

don't want to arouse her suspicion.”

“Understood, Dad. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.”

The court had issued the verdict for Victor. After taking various factors into consideration, the judge

sentenced him to three years' imprisonment.

Meanwhile, in the living room of the Saunders residence, Victoria looked at Vincent with teary eyes as

she sobbed, “My brother can't go to prison, or his future will be ruined! Let's file an appeal with the

National Intermediate Court, Father! I know our chances of success are slim, but we've got to give it a

try!”

Vincent panted weakly as he leaned against the couch, his face all pale. “We'll hold off on the appeal

for the time being. Go visit your brother in prison and find out what he thinks about this.”

Victoria was about to say something in protest, but Vincent was not interested in continuing the

conversation. “You can make your decision after you've heard what he has to say.”

“All right.”

Victoria then made a trip to the prison and paid Victor a visit.

She tried imagining how their little reunion would play out, but the first thing he said upon seeing her

left her completely devastated.

“Save me, Victoria! I don't care if you have to become Lionel's mistress! You've got to save me!”
