Chapter 416
Chapter 416
I didn’t get any responses, which was weird. Was he out? Or was he busy? I should check it out. When
Jenny saw me going to his office, she got to her feet. ‘Lily, are you looking for President Walker?’
‘Yes.’
‘You’re out of luck. He is not.
‘What?’ Didn’t expect him to leave so quickly, dammit, he must have gotten into his signature
elevator. He didn’t have to wait, so he must have gone down before I went up. This is a
problem. Turning. I left his office and called him.
He answered quickly and I heard his car in the background. ‘How are you feeling?’
‘Well, um… I’m at the company, actually.’
‘What?’ Eric raised his voice and a moment of silence followed. ‘Lilian!’ He looked angry. ‘Just wait! You
are in trouble now!
Oh no, oh no, oh no. I looked around. Should I run? No, I’m still going to have to face him no matter
what. Determined to face my fate, I went back to my office to work, but I kept looking down the hall and
listening for any movement. A little while later, I heard his footsteps, so I looked at the screen. When he
stopped in front of my office, I could feel the very air crushing me. I didn’t look up, but I could picture
him leaning against the door with one hand and looking at
mine. Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
He didn’t say anything for a while, and I kept my eyes on the screen. ‘My office. Now.’
Right after he left, I could feel a huge weight lift off of me. And I shuddered. Why did I make that joke? I
just shot myself in the foot! After I walked into his office and shut the shaky door, I gave him a bright
smile. ‘I was just kidding.’
He looked back into my eyes silently, so I walked over to him, explaining, ‘I was going to tell you not to
come, but you hung up too quickly. So when I wanted to call back, I was already on my way to the
office, so I didn’t call. I didn’t expect you to leave so quickly.
‘Are you saying this is my fault?’ Eric exploded at my long-winded explanation.
‘Is not mine. I won’t do it again.’
“Do you know what your mistake is?” he asked.
“I shouldn’t have played with you.
‘No. You shouldn’t have said you’re sick. – he corrected.
‘Okay, okay. I won’t do that anymore.’
He perked up a bit and pointed to the chair in front of his desk, ‘Have a seat’.
When I sat down, he asked, ‘Did you finish the sky garden plan?’
‘No’, I replied honestly. Worried that he might punish me, I explained, ‘I’ll try to finish as quickly as
possible.’
‘No need rudi’ He looked at me. “Have you been to the Waldspirale yet?”
‘No. I only read your details online.’
“What about the other sky gardens?”
‘Only Marina Bay in Singapore and Namba Parks, as well as Acros in Japan,’ I replied.
‘Well, then I think you should have a look at the real deal before you start working on the project.’
The other gardens of heaven? I was surprised. “So I’m going to Aldovia, Germania, England and Italy?”
