Chapter 163
Remington totally spotted Lizetta, and it was obvious that something had gone down with her.
She was in this flimsy dance getup, barefoot, and just dashed out clutching her phone, looking super pale
There she was, squatting and hugging her knees, all lost and forlom like a lonely goose stranded in the wilderness.
Thinking of what Anna had said about her leaving outta the blue, and seeing her current hot mess, it wasn’t rocket science for them to figure out what had happened
Could it be that she wasn’t here for the interpreting gig?
“Boss, should I go check out what’s up with the lady?”
Cedric piped up cautiously, seeing Remington hadn’t budged an inch.
Remington, gripping the doorknob, had this intense frown and stayed mum.
Just as Cedric thought Remington was about to lose it and bolt out of the car, a sleek black Maybach pulled up in front of Lizetta.
A tall dude hopped out from the driver’s seat and made a beeline for Lizetta.
“Liz? What’s got you squatting here all by yourself?”
Lizetta looked up and laid eyes on Hogan.
“Hogan?”
Hogan didn’t grill her. He shrugged off his overcoat, draped it over Lizetta, and helped her to her feet.
Wrapped up in the coat, Lizetta felt hope flicker in her again.
“I totally bombed Miss Dories‘ interview; can you drop me off at the airport?”
Hogan nodded without hesitation, “Get in.”
As soon as they hopped in the car, it peeled off and sped away.
*Drive,” Remington said coolly, while pulling his gaze back; the command was as icy as before.
Cedric, a bit anxious, blurted, “Should I chase them down, force that car to stop, and snatch the lady back?”
Remington chuckled, while giving Cedric a look, “You think it’s some kind of thrill?”
Cedric was speechless.
“Drive!” Remington ordered again, and his tone barely changed.
As Cedric drove off, while feeling something not sitting right with him.

The boss has been way too chill about the missus‘ matters lately.
The calmer he is, the more it feels like there’s this eerie calm before the storm. It’s like there’s a major blowout brewing deep down, and you just know something big’s gonna go down.
Meanwhile, in the car.
“Don’t panic just yet. Maybe Dories and her crew are still at the airport; you might make it in time,” Hogan consoled Lizetta.
He was the one who hooked her up with this shot, so he knew full well how much she valued it. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
“What exactly happened?”
“I think someone snuck into my room and messed with the water in my thermos. After drinking it, I was out cold. When I woke up, I already missed everything!”
Lizetta was sure she hadn’t dozed off from exhaustion.
Her head still felt groggy.
“Got any idea who it might be?” Coldness flickered in Hogan’s eyes.
Lizetta’s expression turned icy, “I only drink from my own water bottle before hitting the stage. Whoever drugged my thermos knew that too well. I think I know who she is. It’s my bad for letting my guard down
She should’ve been on high alert the moment she saw Evelina, but she never imagined Evelina would dare to have someone sneak into her room and tamper with her stuff. It was a bold move that caught Lizetta off guard.
Hogan was worried, “You feeling off anywhere else? Opportunities are precious, but if it’s missed, it’s not the end of the world. There will be others. Let’s hit the hospital first!”
He was about to change course, but Lizetta shook her head urgently, “No other symptoms. To the airport! Maybe I can still catch Miss Dories. Even if she cancels my interview, I gotta clear things up.”
A hospital visit wouldn’t help now.
Seeing her determination, Hogan sighed and gunned the engine.
Lizetta p
popped open the car fridge, grabbed a bottle of water, and started chugging it down.
As she stared out the window, her tears streamed uncontrollably and her whole body was trembling slightly, as her heart was riddled with worry.
