Chapter 152
Jessica continued to flip through the documents as if nothing had happened.
However, "Trevor threw the document in his hands at the former secretary. A small pad of paper hit the secretary's face.
"Who said that the company's confidential information has been leaked?" His gaze and tone were filled with anger.
"The head of the research department said so..." The secretary replied timidly. He did not expect the Chairman to be so angry.
"Tell him to pack his things and get out. The company doesn't need a department head who spreads rumors. Fire anyone who speaks about this matter. Tell the board of directors that this is complete nonsense!" "Yes! I'll do so immediately." The former secretary nodded furiously in fright and turned to leave.
This was the first time in so many years that a department head had been fired directly.
The entire Horington knew that the Chairman loves talented people.
He would carefully consider even just firing a team leader- much less a department head.
The door closed and the room was silent yet again.
Jessica sneaked a glance at Trevor from time to time and rubbed her nose bridge. She felt completely helpless.
Just what is he doing? She thought to herself.
Vincent stormed in half an hour later upon receiving word of what happened. He stood directly in front of Trevor.
"What are you doing? Do you know how long Mr. Gardner has been in the Gulliford Group and how much he has contributed? How could you fire him just like that? Who gave you the right?"
"I'm the chairman. I have the right to fire a department head," Trevor stood up and said softly.
He had expected Vincent to come. After all, that director was hired by Vincent.
"Nonsense! Don't you know that he works under me? Are you looking for a beating, Trevor Gulliford?"
Vincent had always been strict in disciplining his son. When he was a child, even a small mistake would result in a long punishment.
It was for this reason that Old Mr. Gulliford took Trevor to the Gulliford family mansion when he was still very young.
Having mistresses and illegitimate children was normal for a man of high status like Vincent.
He did not care for discipline when Trevor was no longer by his side. Yet on the surface, Trevor was still his only son.
"I'm warning you, you had better bring him back. Don't test me!" Vincent didn't give Trevor a chance to speak. He turned to leave, slamming the door as he did so.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Jessica looked at Trevor and subconsciously felt sorry for him.
"He has never received a mother's love since he was a child. Yet his father is often so strict with him. What kind of childhood did he have?" She thought.
"Chairman, I'm the one who did it. Please fire me," Jessica admitted and put down the document in her hand.
She didn't see a point in torturing each other anymore. She wanted him to let her go.
"What did you do?" Trevor still pretended to be clueless.
"I was the one who leaked the information regarding the software." Jessica stared at him intently. Her inky eyes were filled with a sense of responsibility.
"No information was leaked." Trevor casually said, he sat on his chair and picked up the telephone to make a call. "Chairman, I betrayed the company. I leaked the information just to get some money. It's the truth." Jessica spoke once more.
"Isn't angering Trevor an easy task? Why was it so difficult to make him mad today?"
"How much money?" Trevor did not raise his head, but the corner of his mouth lifted mockingly.
"1.5 million dollars." She revealed without hesitation.
1.5 million dollars was not a small amount. It was enough to make a secretary reveal the company's secrets.
"1.5 million dollars? Hm." Trevor
snorted. The corner of his lips curled further into a mocking smile. "That software is still in its early stages. It's total value is less than 750 thousand dollars. Which company would give you 1.5 million dollars for software worth only 750 thousand dollars?"
