“It seems that you know this person very well?” Anderson seemed to be smiling at her, but there was a probing look deep in his eyes.

Marya ate the food Anderson served her. Seeing the emotion in his eyes, she quickly restrained herself and smiled. “I’m not saying that you’re not good. No matter what you do, I’ll always stand by your side.”

Anderson smiled ambiguously, making Mayra feel uneasy.

Mayra didn’t order much food, and she only ate a little bit. She watched Anderson finish the rest.

She poured him a glass of water and said, “I ordered a bit too much. Next time, I’ll order less. Andy, you can go on with your day. I’ll go back to my room.”

“It’s your first time in Candor City. Don’t you want to explore?”

Looking at the scorching weather outside, Mayra shook her head and said, “No.”

Anderson nodded. “Text me if you need anything.”

“I know, Andy.”

Mayra turned to leave the restaurant. As she was walking out, she saw Serena beside the president of

some company.

Serena saw her and greeted her enthusiastically, “Mayra, what a coincidence! What are you doing here?”

Several company presidents who were discussing project collaborations were immediately attracted by Serena’s words. They shifted their gaze toward the approaching girl.

The man next to Serena was Zane Wilson, the president of a construction company. “Do you know her? Are you together?”

“She’s my classmate. She must be here with Anderson. I didn’t expect to see her here.”

Zane looked at Mayra, his gaze becoming more reserved. “Anderson?”

Mayra sensed many pairs of eyes on her, which made her uncomfortable. When Serena approached, Mayra subtly avoided her touch. “Sorry, you have the wrong person.” NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.

She walked past them without stopping.

This whole thing, including Mayra’s reaction, was seen by Anderson.

Mayra was looking for a book to read and accidentally came across a book on human pressure points. She casually flipped through it and quickly became engrossed.

The book also had methods for relieving headaches by massaging certain pressure points. After reading for a while, there was a sudden knock on the door. Mayra got up from the bed to open it.

The hotel manager pushed a cart inside. “Ms. Sadler, the hotel has prepared afternoon tea and some désserts for you. They’re all Candor City’s specialties.”

Mayra answered, “Come in.”

The manager then took out a box of medicine, looking somewhat hesitant as he said, “Ms. Sadler, Mr. Barlow asked us to buy this medicine. When we brought it upstairs and rang his doorbell, there was no response from inside.”

“Let me have a look.” Mayra took the medicine and confirmed that it was indeed the medicine that Anderson often took.

“Maybe he went out. Leave it with me first. When Andy comes back, I’ll give it to him.”

The manager replied, “After his meal, Mr. Barlow went back to his room to rest and hasn’t come out

since. We’re worried something might have happened since no one answered the door. Mr. Gorman has gone out, and we don’t dare to enter Mr. Barlow’s room.”

Mayra pursed her lips and said, “Give me the medicine. I’ll take it to him.”

“Thank you, Ms. Sadler.”

“No problem.”

“This is Mr. Barlow’s room card.”

Anderson’s room was just opposite hers. As Mayra was about to go over, she noticed someone coming out of his room. To her surprise, it was Serena.

When their eyes met, Serena just glanced at her and lifted her head as if to deliberately show off something on her neck. Then, without saying a word, she left.

Anyone with eyes would’ve seen that Serena had red marks on her neck consistent with that of being grabbed. And that gaze of hers was one of provocation

Mayra looked at Serena’s retreating figure and then at the medicine in her hands, feeling conflicted. Just as she was hesitating, Shane’s voice rang out in the corridor.
