Rejected Luna Queen

Chapter 93

Nolan’s POV

Entering the palace, my heart felt lighter than it had in days. I would be seeing Nesta soon, and the anticipation of being near her made the stress of my recent travels fade away.

It wasn’t just about sleeping with her or even making love to her; it was about the solace I found in her presence, the way her very being seemed to soothe the chaos inside me.

Goddess. I realize that I want to be able to come back to Nesta every single time. To be able to cuddle with her at night after a long stressful day.

Maybe it is time for me to accept that I have a healer as my mate.

I practically bounced with each step, a rare buoyancy in my movements that I couldn’t quite suppress. However, as I ventured further into the palace, I couldn’t shake the sensation that something was off

The air felt heavy, laden with an undercurrent of tension that hadn’t been there before. It was as if the very walls were whispering secrets, secrets that made my instincts prickle with unease.

Despite the odd atmosphere, I pressed on, eager to find Nesta. My thoughts consumed with her–her smile, her touch, the way her eyes lit up when she saw me.

I knew that whatever awaited me, being with her would make everything right again.

I continued through the palace, lost in my thoughts about Nesta, I unexpectedly bumped into my mother. She looked dishevelled, dressed in a night robe with her hair in wild disarray.

It was a stark contrast to her usual composed appearance. I had never seen her like this, and it took me by surprise. Not that this is the first time I’m seeing her like this, especially lately.

“How was your trip?” she asked, trying to compose herself. There was an unusual flush to her cheeks that immediately caught my attention.

“Fine,” I replied, my curiosity piqued. “Why do you look like that? Where are you coming from Rowan’s wing?”

Her face turned crimson, the blush spreading from her cheeks down her neck. She fumbled for a response, clearly taken aback by my question.

“Oh, um, I must have sleep walked there I guess,” she stammered, avoiding my gaze.NôvelDrama.Org content.

Sleepwalking? My mother? That was the last thing I expected to hear. She gave a nervous laugh, her eyes darting around as if searching for an escape.

“Yes, it’s been a strange night,” she added hastily. “I didn’t mean to alarm you.”

I raised an eyebrow, not entirely convinced. “You sleepwalked all the way to Rowan’s wing?”

“Yes,” she said, her voice firmer this time. “It’s happened before, but it’s nothing to worry about.”

She quickly excused herself, almost stumbling as she turned and hurried away down the corridor. I stood there for a moment, watching her retreating figure, a strange feeling settling in my gut.

Something was definitely off tonight. My mother was always the epitome of grace and control. Seeing her so flustered was unsettling.

Shaking my head to clear it, I resumed my path towards Nesta’s room. The odd encounter with my mother lingered at the back of my mind, but I pushed it aside. My heart felt light with the anticipation of seeing Nesta again. Just being near her would relieve the stress of my journey.

It wasn’t just about sleeping with her or making love to her. It was about being in her presence, feeling the connection that bound us.

As I moved further into the palace, a strange sensation prickled at my senses. The air felt heavier, charged with an unusual tension. It was as if the walls themselves were humming with a silent, unspoken energy.

I couldn’t quite place it, but it made my skin tingle and my heart race with an inexplicable urgency.

I quickened my pace, my steps bouncing with eagerness. The closer I got to Nesta’s room, the more the odd atmosphere seemed to press down on me.

I could feel my wolf stirring restlessly within me, sensing something was amiss. The anticipation of seeing Nesta again, of holding her and feeling her warmth, kept me going.

But that odd encounter with my mother and the strange energy in the air left me with an uneasy feeling I couldn’t shake.

Finally, I reached her door. I paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady myself before pushing it open. All I wanted was to see her face, to reassure myself that everything was alright.

I stepped inside, the tension melted away, replaced by the overwhelming need to be close to her. Nothing else mattered in that moment but the bond we shared pushed the door open, expecting to find Nesta waiting for me, but her room was empty. My heart sank. I called out her name, my voice echoing in the stillness, but there was no answer.

A quick search of her room and the adjoining areas yielded nothing. Panic began to rise within me. Where could she be?

The odd tension in the palace suddenly seemed more sinister. I hurried out of her room, my mind racing. I went to her art room, my room. in case but she wasn’t there.

If she wasn’t here, there was only one other place she might be: with Rowan. Or he will know where she went. I’m sure she hasn’t run away. There is way too much security around her.

But my gut told me he wouldn’t be in his wing. After my strange encounter with my mother, it was clear something unusual was going on tonight.

If Rowan had found Nesta, he wouldn’t have let her wander off alone.

I made my way towards his study, my steps quickening with each passing second. The halls were eerily silent, amplifying the sound of my footsteps.

The unsettling energy in the air grew stronger the closer I got to Rowan’s study. My heart pounded with a mix of anxiety and anticipation. What would I find there?

When I reached the heavy wooden door of Rowan’s study, I paused, taking a deep breath to steady myself. I pushed it open, the door creaking ominously. The sight that greeted me stopped me cold.

Rowan was there, but he wasn’t alone. Nesta was with him, and they were tangled together in a way that left no doubt about what had just happened.

The air was thick with the unmistakable scent of sex, making my stomach churn. “Nolan,” Rowan said, his voice thick with a mix of guilt and defiance as he met my eyes over Nesta’s shoulder.

She looked up, her face a mix of shock and something else–regret, perhaps?

My heart pounded in my chest, and the room seemed to spin around me. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the scene before me.

Everything I thought I knew, every plan I had made, was suddenly thrown into chaos.

What the hell had just happened?
