Chapter 109
Nesta’s POV
I walked down the corridor, my steps light and my mind buzzing with thoughts from the afternoon. The painting session in my art room had been particularly intense.
I had added a few more touches to the painting Nolan and I had created in the heat of passion.
The memory of that day broug flush to my cheeks, my fingers brushing against my lips as if I could still taste him there.
My hand instinctively moved to my baby bump, the gentle curve a constant reminder of the life growing inside me. I paused, running my fingers over the swell of my stomach.
How was I going to tell them? How would I explain that this baby belonged to both Nolan and Rowan?
The thought filled me with a mix of fear and excitement. This secret, one that had weighed heavily on my heart, was now a source of strange comfort.
Things were changing. Nolan was changing. The way he looked at me, the tenderness in his touch, the way he smiled more often–it was all different now. There was a warmth between us that hadn’t been there before, a genuine connection that made my heart flutter.
And Rowan, though more distant, had moments of softness too, moments where the old Rowan I had loved so deeply peeked through the cracks of his hardened exterior.
My plans had changed too. I had come here with the intention of leaving, of finding a new life away from the complications and heartache of this place. But now,
the idea of leaving felt like a betrayal to my own heart. I didn’t want to go. I wanted to stay, to explore this thing between Nolan and me, to see where it could lead.
The thought of risking everything for this love, for this chance at happiness, scared me. But it also thrilled me.
I wanted to see if Nolan and I could build something real, something lasting. The possibility of a future together, of raising this child in a home filled with love and laughter, was a dream I hadn’t dared to dream before. But now, it seemed within reach.
As I walked. I passed by the paintings lining the corridor, each one a testament to the emotions and experiences that had shaped me.
They were may sent companions, witnessing my journey, my struggles, and my growth. And now, they would witness this new chapter, this new beginning.
The palace was quiet, the only sound was the soft rustle of my dress against the Soor. I felt a sense of calm wash over me, a certainty that I was making the right choice.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
I wanted to tell them, to share this news, this hope, this dream. But I needed to And the right moment, the right words.
I reached the end of the corridor, stopping to look out of the window. The sun was setting, casting a warm, golden g over the landscape.
It was beautiful, serene, a perfect reflection of the hope blossoming in my heart. I smiled, resting my hand on my bump once more.
I promise, linle one.” I whispered softly, “we’re going to figure this out. Together.” With renewed determination, I turned away from the window and continued down the corridor. I didn’t know what the future held, but I was ready to face it head–on
For Nolan, for Rowan, for our child, and for myself. It was time to embrace this new path, to risk everything for the chance of a love that could heal and transform us all
As I walked down the corridor, lost in my thoughts about the baby and the future, I almost didn’t notice Rowan standing at the other end.
He seemed to be waiting for something or perhaps someone. When our eyes met, he stared longingly at me, his gaze filled with a mixture of emotions that I couldn’t quite decipher.
It was unusual for him to be so quiet, to not have more to say.
“How are you?” he asked, his voice soft and his smile gentle.
“I’m good, Rowan. And you?” I responded, slightly taken aback by the simplicity of the exchange.
“I’m… fine,” he replied, still holding that strange, wistful look. He nodded slightly and then continued down the hallway, leaving me puzzled.
Usually, our encounters were filled with more conversation, more tension, more everything. But this time, he had almost… distant.
I shook my head, trying not to dwell on it too much. I had plans for the day and couldn’t afford to let myself get bogged down by overthinking.
I continued walking, my thoughts shifting to the shopping trip ahead. The queen mother had suggested it, saying it would be good for me to start preparing for the baby

Maria was waiting for me by the entrance. She greeted me with a warm smile, her presence always a comfort. We had become close over the past months, and I was grateful for her steady support.
“Ready for some shopping?” she asked, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
“Absolutely,” I said, returning her smile. “Let’s go spoil this little one.”
As we made our way to the car, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation. This was more than just a shopping trip; it was a step towards building a future. A future that, despite its complications, felt more hopeful than ever.
The palace grounds stretched out around us as we drove through the gates. I looked back once, seeing the grand structure bathed in sunlight, a symbol of all the challenges and joys that lay ahead.
For the first time in a long while, I felt a surge of optimism. I could barely contain my excitement as we drove through the palace gates.
The thought of shopping for the baby filled me with joy, a welcome distraction from the complexities of my life. I decided to call Nolan and share my plans with him.
He answered on the second ring, his deep voice immediately soothing, “Hey, pixie.”
“Hi, Nolan. We’re on our way to do some shopping for the baby,” I said, trying to keep the enthusiasm out of my voice but filing miserably.
“That’s great,” he replied, a smile evident in his tone. “Don’t limit yourself. Get everything you want and need. This baby deserves the best, and so do you.”
His words made my heart flutter. “You really think so?”
“I know so. You both deserve everything and more,” he said softly. “And remember, I love you.”
My breath caught in my throat. “I love you too, Nolan.”
We exchanged a few more words before hanging up, and I felt a warm glow spreading through me. His encouragement and affection made me feel cherished and supported, something I hadn’t realized I needed so badly.
As Maria and I entered the city and began visiting various stores, I couldn’t help but think about how far things had come.

I picked out adorable onesies, soft blankets, and tiny socks, each item filling me with more excitement.
Maria laughed at my enthusiasm, her own eyes shining with happiness. “You’re going to be such a wonderful mother.”
“Thank you, Maria,” I said, smiling at her. “I hope so.”
We continued shopping, and I found myself frequently thinking about Nolan’s sweet words. They had a way of making me feel safe and hopeful, even amidst the chaos.
By the time we finished, the car was filled with bags of baby items, and I felt a
deep sense of satisfaction. And for the first time in a long while, I felt truly excited about the future. I look forward to it.
