Hearing footsteps approaching from behind, Aurelia pulled out two bottles of yogurt from her shopping bag. She turned around and handed one over.
“Do you want a drink?”

“It seemed like we weren’t the focus earlier. The real crux of the matter revolved around Nancy and Mr. Hoffman.”
Moreover, when they were out, she had already gotten used to pretending she didn’t know him.
After all, even Nancy herself believed that they could never be together.
Matthew’s brow arched in displeasure, evidently unsatisfied with Aurelia’s response. “So, you’re good friends with Justin’s wife?”
“Yes, she is my best friend.”
A faint flicker danced in Matthew’s eyes as he took a bite of the apple. The crisp apple was incredibly sweet.
“You don’t have to pretend not to know me when we’re out in public in the future.”
Aurelia laughed. “Well, you don’t have to pretend not to know me when we’re out in public too.”

There are tacit agreement on certain things between us.
Pretending to be strangers in public was truly a mutual understanding they both shared.
No one should point out each other’s flaws.
Matthew was speechless.
Aurelia glanced at the time. “I didn’t eat much at the restaurant, and I’m a bit hungry. I’m going to whip up some simple desserts. Would you like some?”
“Make me a portion too.”
“Alright.”
Initially, Matthew was reading a book on the couch when Aurelia was engrossed in preparing the dessert in the kitchen.
