Chapter 662 – Are you sure I will remarry?
Nydia reached for the document and read it again, it did indeed say [Will] in big letters.
After flipping it open and reading it twice, she was sure that it was Jesse’s will.
“What does this mean?” She looked at Jesse, with shock and anger in her eyes.
Jesse had almost forgotten about this will, and the reason he hadn’t locked it up or given it to his lawyer was that he thought it might need to be changed subsequently.
He didn’t expect Nydia to see it today.
“It’s just a good idea to make a will sooner rather than later, just in case.” He replied.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
“What kind of will are you making at such a young age?” The moment she saw the will, Nydia felt herself wrapped up in a huge force, making her feel like she was drowning, her chest swelling with pain and difficulty in breathing.
“You look at me!”
Jesse met her eyes.
“There’s not much difference between making a will early and making it late, I’m just doing this just in case, you don’t have to care too much.”
“I don’t have to care too much? Are you sure you’re not making a will to protect me? Otherwise, you wouldn’t need to make a will at all, would you?”
Jesse had only two children, and her, the original wife, if something happened to him, the inheritance was not complicated, she could not think of a reason to make a will, the only reason was to prevent her from inheriting most of the estate.
“You read the contents of the will first.” He did not force an explanation, but told her to read the contents first.
Nydia sat down and flipped through the will page by page, reading it very carefully. The contents of the will were not complicated, but there were quite a few assets in Jesse’s name, so the amount involved in it was quite large, and there were quite a few fixed assets.
The bulk of it is basically her and her two children, and part of it is left to her parents and Sibley.
But as she looked at it, she saw a clause in the will that clearly stated that if she remarried after his accident, she could only inherit half of the estate he gave her, while losing the custody of her two children.
Her grip on the will tightened and her eyes stared at the line.
“In your opinion, if something happens to you, I’ll remarry, right?” She raised her eyes to his.
“I’m just describing some of the circumstances objectively in the will to save a lot of trouble.”
“Objective? Is cold objectivity all we can talk about between us?” Nydia slammed this will on the table, “Every word in this will of yours is very objective and heartless!”
“Once I’m gone, the Pascalls will certainly not make it easy for you, and this will of mine will protect your rights to the maximum extent possible.” Jesse’s explanation paled a bit; he and Nydia hadn’t quarreled for a long time, and it made him uncomfortable to be so loud all of a sudden.
He shouldn’t have kept the will, or should have given it to the lawyer earlier.
“You deprived me of custody when I remarried. In your perception, if I remarried, I wouldn’t be able to bring up two children, would I? You think that if I remarry, I’m completely cut off from your THE Pascall family, and that’s who I am in your eyes?”
“Do I still have you to thank for leaving me such a large inheritance?”
Jesse pursed his lips and didn’t say anything, he looked at Nydia with mixed emotions in his eyes.
“Why don’t you say anything? Is it because I said so?”
“If you remarry, it is normal to cut off from the Pascall family.” He opened his mouth but said this.
Nydia wanted to slap him directly, “You think I will remarry?” She gritted her teeth and asked one word at a time.
“I just gave some possible things that could happen, not determined.” His voice was not loud and his tone was not firm, he seemed a little weak, looking like a child who had done something wrong but was stubbornly trying to retort.
Nydia looked at him without saying anything.
This kind of Nydia makes Jesse feel panic, he subconsciously reached out to hug her, but she pushed him away.
But he was not willing to be pushed away, and went back to hug her again, with great force, as if to rub her to pieces.
Under the pain of her body, Nydia did not struggle, just passively held by Jesse.
“Don’t be angry, this will, it’s not what you think!” He explained, only his explanation seemed a bit pale and feeble.
“Jesse, this will, you have revised it many times, right?” Her voice seemed calm, but the more calm it was, the more it made Jesse feel panic, like a piece of driftwood in a boundless sea, unable to find a point to lean on, surrounded by seawater, which would knock him over and drown him.
“You let go of me.” She whispered.
Jesse didn’t let go.
“You let go of me!” Nydia, however, suddenly became emotional and pushed Jesse away with a violent force.
Her eyes were filled with tears, and the disappointment in her eyes was like a wave that had built up like a giant wall in Jesse’s eyes.
“You tell me, this will, did you modify it many times? You show me the will that you started with.”
Jesse’s eyes flashed with a flash of panic.
“The very first one has been deleted and can’t be found.”
“Can’t find it, can you? But write it down in your head, I know your memory, and you tell me the contents of your first will.”
Faced with an aggressive Nydia, Jesse tried desperately to suppress a grumpy mood.
“I don’t feel the need to read it or tell it.” His eyes began to turn dark, “This will, the contents of which are not only not a bit bad for you, but a lot of good.”
It was originally a child who had done something wrong trying to remedy the situation, but at this point it was like he was breaking the can.
He didn’t wear a tie, but he felt his neck being strangled, like a million hurtful, even vicious words were about to squeeze out of his throat and rush at Nydia.
Annoyed, he tugged at his collar, but to little avail.
“Do I still have to thank you for taking care of me? Securing my rights even after your death?”
The mocking tone irritated Jesse’s eardrums deeply and filled his mind.
He clenched his fists, and the veins on his arms felt as if they were about to burst out of his skin.
“You’re welcome, it’s what I should do as a husband!” He uttered these words with great force, and could see the indentations in his cheeks after his cheeks were clenched.
Looking at Jesse at this point, Nydia immediately realized what was going on, and she did not allow herself to speak anymore, trying to calm down her emotions.
She admitted that she lost control when she saw the [will].
Knowing him as she did, this will must have been modified in numerous versions, the very first one, as she could probably have guessed.
“Okay, let’s not argue.” She set the will on the table and prepared to leave the study first; they both should calm down with each other or else something would happen if they continued to argue like this.
However, she was just about to leave when Jesse grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
“Just like that, you’re leaving? Is it not clear yet?”
“It’s clear that you made this will to ensure my future, and I should indeed thank you.”
“You look me in the eye and talk!” Jesse squeezed her arm and shouted at her.
Nydia raised her eyes to meet his, “What else do you want me to say? Are you going to make me say that I don’t like this will or am I going to question you as to why you would give your life to love me but never trust me! Why?”
Jesse froze and suddenly let go of her hand and took two steps back, suddenly his whole state became humble.
