THIRD PERSON’S POV

79%

It had been three minutes now, since they all splitted up in search of Alec, but no one had found him. The training ground belonged to Leo. He had spent most of his life there. He had always known the place like the back of his palms but tonight, the place looked different. It was like he had never been there. He searched everywhere but still felt like there was a place he didn’t search. He and Raquel met at at one cornersand she tried to walk away, but he held her hand.

“Let’s walk together, It’s not safe walking here all by yourself” he said but she wasn’t having any of it. The nerve of him to say that “Now you care about my safety? Where were you when Alec was taken?” She asked

“Not now Raquel, we have one minute left” He responded and she made to walk away again but he was still holding her hand.

“You’ve checked that place five times already” he informed and she sighed and agreed to follow him.

Kate and Cade were at the other end. Cade was damn worried, he knew how much Leo loved his kids. He knew how happy he was when he found out he had kids. If anything should happen to them, then he would surely go on a rampage. An Alpha’s rampage is not something anyone should wish for. Innocent people were going to die. Kate on the other hand, was more focused on finding the bastard who kidnapped the boy. That was her aim and mission after all. She didn’t care if the little boy died or not, so long as she caught the culprit and serve his head to Cypher

Now it was clear to her that no one was actually there to conquer the pack, an insider who might have had a beef with Leo in the

past was the one playing games with them.

Andrew and Raymond were at the other end. Raymond was searching for the little boy with a little bit of desperation, the boy was like a nephew to him and he took a liking to him the other day on the training ground when he stood up for his brother against a few bullies. The little boy’s life was yet to begin, who could be the cruel bastard who would want to end it before it even started?

Andrew was more desperate. He had been there when the kids were born. He had nurtured them like a father. Even though they never saw him like a father, he saw them like his sons. He couldn’t allow them to be separated at such a tender age. They didn’t have to pay for the sins of their father.

After rounds of searching with extraordinary speed, they all met at the same spot where they had splitted up. And by then, the timer on the bomb had reached one second. A tear dropped from the eyes of the little boy. He was watching his mother and father standing right in front of him, but not knowing he was there. The cruel man had duct taped his mouth and tied his fragile hands and legs to the back of the chair which he was seated

The next second, the bomb went off and that was it3. Raquel screamed out her lungs and fell to the ground. This had got to be a dream. This had got to be a dream. Alec was in his room. He was with Aiden and they’re sleeping peacefully as they always did. They weren’t out there and a bomb tied on his body did not just go off. She said whatever she needed to say to reassure herself that what she had witnessed was just a nightmare and wasn’t real

But sadly, it was reality. Alec was gone and it was all her fault. If only she had listened to her parents and stayed out of this town forever. If only she wasn’t consumed by excessive anger and wanting to exact vengeance. If only she had listened to Andrew, none of these would have happened. Her son would have still been alive and well. She would have been able to see his little innocent face when she woke up the next morning. This was unfair

Life was so unfair to her. What had she ever done? What? She was just a young woman trying to live life. Trying to be there for the ones she loved but life was taking it all. First it was her father, then her mother, and now one of her sons. She couldn’t take it. No! She could not take it anymore

It wasn’t too late to leave. She still had time. She could still protect Aiden. She could leave all this behind. Could she? Could the live knowing that the person who killed her baby was still alive and free? Was that possible? Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

It would be difficult but she could. If she wanted Aiden alive, she could. She was so confused she didn’t know what to do. Three hours later, she was still on the ground, crying her eyes out. Leo didn’t cry but he was heartbroken. He blamed himself for everything that had just happened

Raquel was right to have hit him on the face, he wanted her to do it again, he wanted her to hit him again real hard. Raquel could hear his thoughts but she didn’t have the strength to do anything. She couldn’t even cry anymore. She had run out of tears. Andrew came to where she stood and hugged her from behind and began stroking her hair In a bid to console her. It wasn’t working

Leo stared at them, he couldn’t say a word. Even if he wanted to, he didn’t have the strength. He didn’t feel any other type emotion except grief. The whole place was dead quiet. It was a pregnant silence.

Leo picked Raquel up and led her to the car. She didn’t protest. The rest followed suit and with that, they all left the field with Alec’s body parts scattered all around. Raquel had read enough Werewolf stories and myths to know that when a Werewolf or a cub died in such a tragic way, it was tradition to leave the body out for whatever animals that would come pick them up little by little. She never really understood what kind of tradition that was, if it were left to her, she would have loved to pay her last respect. It was the least she could do for him as a mother. But as they say. When in Roman, act like the Romans do
